The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has urged children’s workers to protect children from losing their identity in Christ.
Speaking in an interview with CM Media at the 2026 Foundation Builders’ Conference underway at the Pentecost Conventon Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Dr Nyamekye stated that the battle for souls begins in the mind. He stressed the need to protect children from losing their identity in Christ, noting that children are highly vulnerable and therefore require the guidance of mature, well‑equipped teachers.
Apostle Dr Nyamekye expressed his excitement about the Foundation Builders’ Conference initiative, highlighting its importance in equipping children’s workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to nurture children effectively.
“I am happy about this Foundation Builders’ Conference and we are very interested because it equips children’s workers to help our children grow in the right direction,” he said.
Addressing workers who rely solely on passion without developing the needed skills, Chairman Nyamekye advised them to pursue continuous learning and remain diligent in their work. He explained that passion alone is not enough to be effective leader because it is based on emotions, which can fade over time.
“For the sake of the work and the children, you need some skills to raise children,” he declared.
He further encouraged children’s workers to draw strength from Christ, especially during moments of exhaustion and burnout, saying, “As Christians, our strength comes from the relationship we have with Christ and that we must remain connected to Him always.”
Apostle Dr Nyamekye concluded: “My prayer is that as we have begun, God will continue with us so that by the close of this conference, everyone will go home with some skills to be fully equipped to minister to the children back home.”
