The outgoing Offinso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson, and his wife, Mrs. Winifred Edzii Davidson, have bid an emotional farewell to the Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) Assembly in the Offinso Buasi District, as well as to the Municipal Chief Imam of Offinso.

The MPWDs Assembly, a unique ministry of the Church, provides spiritual and psychosocial support to persons with disabilities. During their tenure in the Area, Apostle and Mrs. Edzii Davidson forged a close bond with the group. In what became his last fellowship with them, held on Friday, August 2025, the Apostle officially announced that his transfer—communicated at the Church’s General Council Meetings in May—would take effect after his farewell service on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

True to their compassionate nature, the couple donated assorted items worth GH¢8,300, including rice, Milo, milk, soap, and oil, to the Physically Challenged Action Foundation Centre. They also made a personal cash contribution. Receiving the items, the institution’s founder and CEO, Elder Sylvester Barima Antwi, expressed deep appreciation for the Apostle and his wife’s consistent and timely support over the years.

In a separate event, Apostle and Mrs. Edzii Davidson, accompanied by some ministers and their spouses, paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Imam of Offinso to formally inform him of their reassignment to the Sefwi Wiawso Area.

Though saddened by the news, the Chief Imam, through his spokesperson, Mr. Saani Mohammed, praised Apostle Edzii Davidson for his remarkable leadership and his role in fostering unity between Christians and Muslims in Offinso. He particularly highlighted the minister’s instrumental role in establishing the Offinsoman Environmental Care Campaign Steering Committee, which has significantly advanced the cause of environmental cleanliness in the municipality.

The meeting ended on a warm and symbolic note, as the two religious leaders exchanged prayers and words of counsel, reaffirming their shared commitment to community development and peaceful coexistence.
