The James McKeown Worship Centre (JMWC) of The Church of Pentecost has extended a helping hand to the Potter’s Village orphanage in Dodowa, Accra, by donating essential items to support the children and staff.
The donation, which took place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, was led by the Resident Minister, Pastor Daniel Appiah, alongside Madam Sylvia Awatey, the head of the Orphanage Committee, and other committee executives, elders, deaconesses, and church members.
Items donated included nine rolls of toilet paper, six boxes of Bibles, four gallons of liquid soap, four 25kg bags of rice, five 5kg bags of rice, drinks, bottled water, clothing, and financial support, among others. The thoughtful contributions aimed to address some of the orphanage’s immediate needs and provide relief to the children and staff.
The children at the orphanage warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing their appreciation through smiles, songs, and dances.
Madam Nana Ama Adu Owusu, Director of Potter’s Village, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the church’s support. She highlighted the importance of such donations in sustaining the orphanage’s operations and ensuring the well-being of the children under her care.
Pastor Daniel Appiah shared words of encouragement with the children and staff, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and hope in Christ. He noted that the donation was inspired by the biblical directive in James 1:27 to care for orphans and widows. He concluded the visit with a prayer, seeking God’s blessings for everyone at the orphanage.
In recognition of the church’s kind gesture, the orphanage presented a certificate of honour to the church leadership, acknowledging their impactful act of generosity.
