The Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the Nungua District of the Church, conducted a free medical screening on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Nungua Authority Bus Station for marginalised and vulnerable persons.

The screening aimed at engaging drug addicts, commercial sex workers, and street dwellers within the Nungua Bus station enclave with the Gospel message of Christ.

Under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin and Mrs. Abigail Ofei-Badu, the Nungua district, along with the HUM team, has been reaching out to commercial sex workers and drug addicts at the station.

To bolster their efforts, the District partnered with HUM Greater-Accra, comprising the Achimota and Ashaiman Sectors, for the medical screening.

Patrons underwent screening for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, and sugar levels, received free medical advice and medication, and were prayed for.

In total, 210 people were screened, counseled, and provided with free medication. Twenty-three of them surrendered their lives to Christ.

Present at the screening were Pastor Benjamin and Mrs. Abigail Ofei-Badu (Nungua District), Overseer James Amoah-Mensah (Achimota Sector HUM Pastor), Mrs. Joyce Addison (Wife of the Ashaiman Sector HUM Pastor), and HUM leaders in the Nungua District.

Other officers and Evangelism Ministry leaders in the Nungua District were also present to share the gospel message with the patrons.

Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude to The Church of Pentecost for the kind gesture and requested more of such exercises in the Nungua township.

Those requiring immediate medical attention were taken to the hospital.
