The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has unveiled the theme for the year 2024, urging church members to prepare themselves to be unleashed into the world to transform it.
The theme for 2024 is “A People of God Unleashed to Transform Their World” (2 Peter 2:9, Acts 1:10). The theme comprises eight sub-themes: The Characteristics of the Church Unleashed; The Church as a People of God; A People Living by the Principles, Values, and Lifestyle of the Kingdom of God; and Raising Godly Families to Impact the Church and the State
The rest are: Raising Christlike Believers to Transform their Spheres; Unleashing Wholistic Witness Through the Local Church to Impact Society; Flourishing Life Through Personal Devotions; and Sacrificial Giving and Tithing.
The Chairman declared the theme on Wednesday morning at the ongoing November Heads’ Fasting and Prayer meeting at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.
He emphasised, “The time is ripe to consciously and strategically unleash the vast potentials in the church,” adding: “This effort requires systematic steps, including helping our members appreciate their identity as people of God, the power and resources they possess, and their mandate in the world.”
Apostle Nyamekye highlighted that the church’s quest to “possess” the world should lead to a renewal of prevailing principles conflicting with the values of the Kingdom of God.
He noted, “Our advance into the world should instill holy fear in the gates of Hades, just as Israel’s advancement frightened the Moabites to the point of exclaiming, ‘This horde is going to lick up everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.’ Our march into the spheres of society should result in ‘turning our world upside down.'”
Apostle Nyamekye took the opportunity to express appreciation to the entire church populace for their support and the successes achieved under Vision 2023.
The 2024 theme falls under the new five-year strategic vision of the Church, Vision 2028: Possessing the Nations (Phase II), with an overarching goal of unleashing the whole church to transform their world with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.
