The Assin Fosu Area of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the Pumpside District, has reached residents of a ghetto community with medical care, health education and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The outreach, organised as part of the Area’s Home and Urban Missions (HUM) activities, was aimed at reaching people who are often overlooked and demonstrating the love of Christ through practical service.
The programme was led by the Assin Fosu Area Head, Apostle Eric Asare, and his wife, Dr Mrs Agnes Asare, together with the Area HUM Coordinator, Pastor Wilson Boakye-Yiadom, and supported by ministers and their wives from the Area.
As part of the initiative, residents received medical screening, basic healthcare services and health education. Medical professionals attended to beneficiaries, offered health guidance and provided counselling where necessary.
Beyond the medical intervention, the outreach provided an opportunity for the ministers and their wives to engage residents personally, pray with them and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Through personal evangelism, prayer and counselling, 29 people surrendered their lives to Christ, giving the outreach a significant spiritual impact.
The beneficiaries were encouraged to put their trust in Jesus Christ and were reminded that God’s love reaches people regardless of their circumstances.
The outreach demonstrated the Church’s conviction that the gospel must not only be proclaimed through words but also expressed through compassion, service and practical acts of love.
The initiative further underscored the importance of taking the Church beyond the walls of the auditorium to meet people where they are, particularly those in underserved communities.
The outreach aligns with the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20 and Christ’s command in Mark 16:15 to take the gospel to all people.

The Assin Fosu Area outreach therefore represents another practical expression of the Church’s commitment to reaching the unreached, serving humanity, proclaiming Christ and bringing hope to communities.
