The Twifo Praso Area of The Church of Pentecost has supported victims of the June 29, 2026 flood disaster in the Area with relief items and cash valued at GH¢38,000.
The support was presented at the Twifo Praso Asikafo Assembly Auditorium on Sunday, August 30, 2026, following a directive by the Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko. The programme was chaired by the Chairman of the Area Emergency Response Committee, Pastor Jonathan Nartey Oman.
The June 29 flood, which followed a heavy downpour, caused significant damage to properties, with several residents losing household items and other valuables.
Preaching from Psalm 46, Pastor Oman encouraged the victims not to lose hope but to continue trusting God amid their difficulties.
He described God as a refuge for those who turn to Him in times of trouble and assured the victims of His ability to give them a fresh beginning and restore what they had lost.
“Never allow what has happened to take you away from God. Do yourself no harm, because God is on your side,” he said.
In a brief presentation, a member of the Twifo Praso Area Counselling Ministry Committee, Elder Jude Quagraine, urged residents to take practical steps to prevent future flooding.
He cautioned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse into gutters and building on waterways, while encouraging residents in flood-prone communities to consider relocating where possible.
“Life is precious,” he stressed, urging residents to prioritise their safety.
The Twifo Praso Area Secretary, Pastor Paul Mensah, also called on residents to desist from activities pursued for personal gain that contribute to the destruction of the environment.
The relief package, which included bags of cement, cash and other essential items, was received with appreciation by the beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude to Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko, his wife, the ministers in the Area and the entire Church for the timely intervention.
Also present at the programme were the Twifo Praso District Minister, Pastor Frank Larbi, and the Area Deacon, Elder Seth Addo-Kumi, among others.
