Twenty-three (23) widows and aged at Calvary Central Assembly in the Greda Estate District of the Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost were given a special treat during this year’s ‘We Care Day’ celebration.
A philanthropist, Deacon Simon Quarcoopome of James McKeown Temple, Adabraka District in La Area, surprised the beneficiaries with a special gift pack made up of assorted provisions estimated at GH¢ 100.00 per pack.
The local assembly topped it up with rice and an unspecified amount of money to complete the joy of the widows and the aged.
Deacon Quarcoopome, a businessman who joined the local assembly with his wife, children and employees to present the items, explained that the Lord has laid it upon his heart to care for the aged, widows and the vulnerable in society, especially in the church through regular support to alleviate their plights.
The Presiding Elder, Fred Tettey Alarti-Amoako, on behalf of the leadership of the church, thanked Deacon Quarcoopome for the kind gesture.
Praying for Deacon Quarcoopome for God’s blessings upon his life and business, Elder Amoako encouraged him to continue with the divine assignment since God will also fulfil His part of His covenant with him.
Full of joy, the widows sang and praised the Lord for the unexpected support. They also thanked the philanthropist for remembering them.
