The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has declared that the name of Jesus is greater than any other name on earth and in heaven.
According to the revered clergyman, the name of Jesus has power and dominion over principalities, demons and witches.
He, therefore, stated: “As believers in Jesus Christ, all authority has been given unto us to conquer every fear.”
Apostle Nyamekye made this known at the opening of the Berekum Area 2023 Easter convention on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Berekum Omanhene Park. This year’s Easter convention which is under the theme: “Jesus Christ Has Paid It All.” (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:21), is expected to climax on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Speaking on the topic, “The Authority of the Name Jesus,” Apostle Nyamekye said that God named Adam after creating him, and was given the authority to name creation (Genesis 2:19). “God wanted everything to have a name that is the reason why He did not hide anything from Adam, thereby, giving him the authority to name,” he stated.
He noted that all that a person is, is vested in his or her name. He, therefore, urged Christians to be mindful of their names. He added: “God leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. You need to carry yourselves very well because when your name is destroyed while you are still alive, you could be useless.”
He further urged members of the church to uphold good names, which according to him, is greater and better than money, good health, wisdom and peace.
“When your name is great, you will be blessed. So, don’t let love and faithfulness leave you wherever you go. This will lead to the attainment of favour in the sight of God,” the Chairman said.
The Berekum Area Easter convention is being held at zonal level, namely Berekum, Dormaa, Drobo, and Goka.
