The Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) International Coordinator, Elder Dr Patrick Adonoo, has called on all believers to adopt evangelism as a lifestyle in order to possess the nations for God.
According to him, evangelism and soul winning should not be left for only a selected few since the command to go was given to all believers.
Elder Dr Adonoo made the passionate call when he visited the Ambassadors English Assembly of Shalom Worship Centre in the Kaneshie Area on Sunday, May 26, 2019. He preached on the topic, “Why You Need to Engage in Evangelism as a Lifestyle,” with scripture references from Acts 10:1-6 and Acts 9:1-6; 17.
He noted that the duty of preaching the gospel is a privilege given by God to believers, and that no other creature or heavenly being has the mandate to preach the gospel to the world.
“It is the mandate of Christians to preach and share the gospel because angels and Jesus will not do that. This is one reason why Christians must engage in evangelism as a lifestyle,” he stressed.
Elder Dr Adonoo also stated that preaching the gospel is an expression of the Christian’s love for God. He observed that any believer who truly understands the expression of their love for God will feel uncomfortable if they do not share the gospel of Christ.
The PENSA International Coordinator stated that some believers assume that their love for God can be measured by other things they do in church apart from sharing the gospel.
This, he noted, is very worrying because the scriptures clearly show that the measure of the love believers have for God is how ready they are to share the gospel. He quoted Mark 15:15-16 and John 14:15 to buttress this point.
He said: “Our mandate as believers is to go into the world to preach the gospel and make disciples. Our obedience to this call is the indication of our love for God.”
He added: “Show me a believer who claims he or she loves God and let’s see how much of their time they invest in going into the world to preach.”
Reading from Revelation 22:12 and 1 Corinthians 3:12-13, Elder Dr Patrick Adonoo noted that it is important for Christians to share the gospel because they shall be rewarded.
According to him, every work done in the church shall be tested with fire but those who win souls shall be rewarded greatly because souls are golden.
The sermon was interspersed with Pentecostal songs to reinforce every point he made.
