Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, the New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has asserted that Christians can rise above life challenges and obstacles because the omnipotent power of God is still at work and available to them.

Prophet Doku made this assertion at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Asokwa, during the morning session of Day 2 of the “Greater Kumasi For Christ” Crusade, which began yesterday, August 22, 2023 at the Heroes Park, Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Speaking on the topic: “The Power Of Signs, Wonders And Miracles”, Prophet Doku reminded Christians of the divine order that governs each season of life.

With references to Mark 16:15-20, Acts 1:8, and Hebrews 2:1-4, he expounded on the dual nature of power, as described by Jesus Christ.

Prophet Doku elucidated two distinct types of power: the “delegated power” and the “Dunamis.”

According to him, delegated power, likened to the liberty and right to wield authority, is received upon accepting Jesus Christ into one’s life.

Drawing from John 1:10-12, he elaborated on this authority as the “power to become.”

Expounding further, he introduced the concept of Dunamis—a Greek term signifying power that reproduces itself, akin to a dynamo.

Prophet Doku highlighted how the Dunamis holds the potential to dismantle the works of the devil, as evidenced in 1 John 3:5-8.

The New Tafo Area Head further stated that Jesus Christ’s purpose on earth was to eradicate human sin and to dismantle the devil’s schemes.

Throughout his sermon, Prophet Doku referenced the book of Acts as a living testament to the enduring presence of the Holy Spirit’s power.

He noted that the Acts of the Holy Spirit continue to manifest through the demonstration of signs and wonders in the Church.

He also touched on the effectiveness of this power, narrating instances from Acts 3:1-7 and 8:5.

Prophet Doku emphasised that the power of Jesus Christ is the liberating force needed to break the chains of bondage imposed by the devil.

He then cited the compelling story of Dorcas from Acts 9:36-42, highlighting that the power of God remains omnipotent and accessible to all believers.

“There is an overflow of great joy when that power is exercised. Because of this power, many believe in the Lord,” he said.

In attendance were Apostles Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, (General Secretary), Yaw Adjei Kwarteng (RCC Coordinator – Ashanti Region), Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin (Evangelism Ministry Director), John Obeng Kesse (Suame Area Head), Dr. Joseph I.T.
