The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has said that there must be a deliberate action on the part of believers to spread the message of Christ.

According to him, as the church grows, so should there be intentional development of ministries to win souls from all aspects of human life.

He said this on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, during a meeting with Ministers and Elders of the Church at the A. T. Nartey Memorial Temple in Bompata.

Speaking on the theme “The Quest of The Church Unleashed”, Apostle Nyamekye challenged believers to actively become agents of change, spreading righteousness and hope in a world plagued by darkness.

“Our light is for the dispersing of the darkness in the world. To those who are lost, light is a beacon of hope,” he declared, referencing Isaiah 60:21-22.

He mentioned that God desires to use His people to display His splendor to the nations.

The Chairman furthermore stressed the need for churches to develop intentional patterns of teaching that empower members to influence their spheres of life.

Quoting Romans 6:17-18, he said, “If we want our people to be unleashed, we also need to design a pattern for them. If you want them to speak in tongues, teach on speaking in tongues. If you want them to be unleashed, design a pattern of teaching.”

This intentionality, he noted, would encourage Christians to leave the comfort of the church building and actively engage with society to effect meaningful change.

Describing the Church unleashed, Apostle Nyamekye outlined its characteristics as Multi-racial, Multi-cultural, and Multi-generational: A church that embraces diversity and draws people from all walks of life.

He highlighted the importance of translating religiosity into genuine spirituality.

“Religiosity involves external customs, rituals, and traditions of worship, but spirituality leads to morality by transforming religious beliefs into guiding principles for life”, he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye urged churches to prioritize impact over numbers, focusing on intentional ministry designed to influence nations.

He advocated for an expansive approach to ministry, urging churches to grow broader as they grow bigger.

“The Church unleashed builds major ministries and extends its reach across nations, creating new avenues to channel the love and grace of God to humanity,” he noted.

“It is a church that is unafraid of challenges and is intentional about its mission to carry the gospel to new frontiers,” he added.
