The headmistress, staff and the students of Morkwa Senior High School in Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region could not hold their joy when The Church of Pentecost provided the school with potable water.

The immediate past Twifo Praso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe, commissioned the water project on September 4, 2023, ably supported by Twifo Agona District Minister, Pastor Frank Asomani Asare.

The provision of the water facility became a priority of the church when the Omanhene of Atti-Morkwa Traditional Council, Oseadieye Kwasi Kanin IV, appealed to the Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, about the acute water challenges the school was facing when the Chairman called on the chief during his tour of the Twifo Praso Area of the church.

Preaching the sermon at the commissioning programme, the Twifo Praso District Minister, Pastor Frank Larbi (Area PENTSOS Coordinator), read from Hebrews 3:3-6 and explained that God is the builder of all things, and as such, He owns everything in the world. He, however, said that God has entrusted His property to humankind, and as such, humans need to take good care of what God has given to them.

He concluded by appealing to all and sundry to avoid the wanton destruction of water bodies and the land because they would one day account for their actions.

On his part, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe emphasised the need to handle the water facility properly and use it judiciously to help meet its intended purpose. He called for a proper maintenance culture to ensure the facility’s longevity.

Mrs Godsway Asare, wife of Twifo Agona District Minister, unveiled the plaque, after which Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe commissioned the project. It was fully sponsored by grants from the Head Office and supervised by the Twifo Praso Area Head.

Present at the programme were Rev. (Mrs) Dorcas Annam Okine (Headmistress of the school), Rev. Ferdinand Abbiw Wilson (The Methodist, Morkwa), the pastorate in the Area, the chiefs and elders of the Atti-Morkwa Traditional Council and Mr Stephen Cobbinah (Twifo Agona Circuit Supervisor of Education), among others.
