Thousands throng the forecourt of the E. K. Kyei Worship Centre of The Church of Pentecost in Tarkwa on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, for the ‘Tarkwa for Christ Crusade.’
The four-day crusade under the theme, “Jesus Christ: The Way, The Truth & The Life,” is being hosted by the National Directorate of the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, led by Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, in collaboration with the Tarkwa Area, led by Apostle Dr. Daniel Walker.
Present on Day One were Apostle John Obeng Kesse (Suame Area Head), Apostle Anthony Mensah (Resident Minister of Pentecost International Worship Centre, Atomic in Accra), and Apostle Martin Seth Appiah (Madina Area Head).
Others were Hon. Benjamin Kessie (Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem), National Executive Committee Members of the Evangelism Ministry, and traditional rulers from the Tarkwa and its environs.
Speaking at the crusade, Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin indicated that Jesus is the only true way to life. He explained that a lot of people have been roaming effortlessly in search for solution to the challenges of life but to no avail, while many others are trying so hard to work out their way to God by giving alms and doing all that seem right.
According to Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin, this is not a novel thing as Cornelius went through the same phase as captured in Acts chapter 10.
The Evangelism Ministry Director revealed that the only thing missing in the quest of Cornelius and the people searching to find answers to the mystery of life is that they have not experienced the only way to God, which is Jesus Christ.
However, he said, due to the mercies of God and the fact that God knows everyone by name, He decides to come their way and directs them to Christ.
Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin emphasized that, “There are many religions and academic philosophies that suggest they know the way to salvation, but they do not. It is only the Bible that has that record. And that record is that Jesus is the only way.”
He added: “God is no respecter of persons and has made His saving grace available to all that all who will seek Him will find Him and will be saved.”
The first day of the crusade ended with 54 souls won, out of which, 52 received water baptism and 13 receiving Holy Spirit Baptism.
A total of 2,272 were in attendance for the opening day.
