The Resurrection Power Signifies Eternal Life In The Ark – Apostle Fianko-Larbi Observes

The Resident Minister for Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Sakumono in the Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Seth Fianko-Larbi, has proclaimed that the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ signifies eternal life in the Ark above the raging floods.

He drew a parallel between Christ and Noah’s Ark in Genesis chapters 7 and 8, saying, ‘As the flood came during Noah’s time, Jesus Christ, who is with you and in you, will protect you like those who were saved in Noah’s ark.’

‘Whatever comes your way as a flood, God is going to use it for your good. There is a rising in every aspect of your life; we are in the ark, and the ark is Christ,’ he said, while urging Christians to believe in the resurrected Christ.

Apostle Fianko-Larbi shared these insights during the climax of this year’s Easter convention held by the PIWCs and Worship Centres in the Teshie-Nungua Area at the GHACEM Park, Sakumono, on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. The theme for the convention was, ‘The Crucified Christ is Alive,’ based on Acts 3:15 and Ephesians 4:1.

In his sermon titled, ‘Walking Daily in the Victorious Power of the Redemption,’ Apostle Fianko-Larbi read scriptures from Romans 8:19, Hebrews 2:14-16, Ephesians 1:9, among others, explaining that Christians live from a position of victory because of the power of Christ’s blood.

‘We cannot be limited by distance, time, and matter; it is the realm of Grace,’ he stated, adding, ‘If God gives you something in the resurrection, nothing can destroy it.’

‘In our journey towards life, one can encounter depression, death, depreciation, distress, and disappointments. However, the risen Christ, who rose from death, is the truth. He is the author of life, the imperishable seed, and nothing in creation can overcome the author of life and His children,’ he emphasized.

According to Apostle Fianko-Larbi, there are two witnesses to the resurrection account. The first is historical data or facts from multiple people, attestation from enemies, eyewitness testimonies, the principle of embracement, and the consistencies in oral accounts of the resurrection.

‘The second witness is you and I, the Christians. We the believers who have tried and tested the resurrection power in our daily lives,’ he added.

Apostle Fianko-Larbi also stated that Jesus died by crucifixion, a fact attested by numerous historians, including His disciples. The final evidence of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, he disclosed, is the empty tomb and the testimony of the women who visited His tomb.

Apostle Fianko-Larbi further stated, ‘Christians are citizens of heaven, and as believers, we are partakers of the resurrection, with our souls seated in heaven’ (Ephesians 2:6).

The service was interspersed with powerful praise and worship, as well as testimonies of the healing power of the risen Christ. The mass choir ministered through soul-inspiring songs.

As part of activities marking the 2025 Easter Convention, the Gomoa Kyiren District in the Winneba Area of The Church of Pentecost organised a general health screening exercise on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Gomoa Sampa Durbar Grounds.

The screening focused on various common health conditions prevalent in local communities, including blood sugar levels (Diabetes), H. Pylori, prostate screening, breast examination, fibroid detection, and more.

In addition to the screenings, participants received professional counseling and consultations, with initial diagnoses provided to help address any medical conditions identified. A total of 200 people benefited from the exercise.

The health screening team was led by Deaconess Dr. Mercy Abrafi and included Deaconess Leticia (an oncology nurse and gospel artiste), Mavis Aidoo, Millicent Cobbah, Deacon Samuel Ayepah, Deacon Alfred Ghansa, and Esther Cobbina.

The District Medical Team, made up of Mrs. Lydia Adu (Wife of the District Minister), Deborah Ninson, and Ebenezer Mensah, also played a vital role in the success of the program.

The entire exercise was fully sponsored by Elder Joseph Kobii Cobbina and Deaconess Janet Opoku, affectionately known as Mr. and Mrs. Rickiebee. In a further act of kindness, the couple donated a brand-new wheelchair to an elderly woman to enhance her mobility and enable her active participation in social and church activities.

Speaking on the motivation behind their support, Elder Kobii Cobbina emphasised the importance of giving back to society and demonstrating God’s love to the vulnerable and needy.

The kind gesture was deeply appreciated by the District Minister, the Presbytery, and all participants.

Overseer Daniel K. Adu, the District Minister, expressed his profound gratitude to the couple for their generosity in fully funding the medical outreach. He also encouraged members and attendees to prioritise their health by undertaking regular check-ups as part of their Christian stewardship.

The 2025 Easter Convention of the Gomoa Kyiren District was held under the theme: “He Himself Bore Our Sins in His Body” (1 Peter 2:24).

The Blood of Jesus Is A Powerful Defensive And Offensive Weapon For Believers — Pastor Amankwaatia

Pastor Benjamin Kwaku Amankwaatia, the Buokrom Estate District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has asserted that the blood of Jesus provides both protection and empowerment in the life of a believer, serving as a means of defense against spiritual harm and a tool to achieve victory in spiritual warfare.

“The blood of Jesus is both a defensive and offensive weapon for believers,” he declared.

Speaking at the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention on Good Friday morning, April 18, 2025, at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park in the New Tafo Area, under the theme, “Jesus Christ — The Lamb of God Who Takes Away the Sin of the World,” based on John 1:29, Hebrews 1:3, and 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, he focused on two key concepts: “Lamb and Sin.”

Pastor Amankwaatia explained that the term ‘lamb,’ derived from the original Greek word “arnion,” signifies ‘the exalted one.’ He emphasised that Jesus, referred to as ‘the Lamb of God,’ is gentle, compassionate, loving, and innocent— qualities that led Him to suffer willingly and die to take away the sins of the world. This, he contrasted with Satan, who embodies cruelty, wickedness, and destruction.

On the concept of ‘sin,’ he elaborated that it is translated from the Greek term “hamartia,” which means ‘missing the mark,’ ‘failure,’ ‘taking a wrong course,’ ‘wrongdoing,’ or guilt.’

Referencing John 8:34-35, James 1:15, and Romans 5:12, Pastor Amankwaatia highlighted the causes and devastating effects of sin, which necessitated atonement. He compared the Old Testament’s cumbersome process of atonement, involving repeated animal sacrifices, with Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, which addressed sin once and for all.

“Jesus is the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for humanity,” he stated emphatically.

Pastor Amankwaatia also underscored the transformative power of Jesus’ blood, explaining that it reconciles believers to God, grants them peace with Him, and equips them to overcome the devil and his schemes, as stated in Revelation 12:10-11.

Resurrection Power Unites Believers With Christ – Apostle Kumi-Larbi

The former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has revealed that the resurrection power of Christ unites believers and assures them of eternal life and spiritual elevation, sharing in His victory over sin and death.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi, who is an Executive Council member and current Ashaiman Area Head of the church, said this on Sunday, April 20, 2025, during the climax of the Ashaiman Area 2025 Easter Convention held at Kakasunaka No. 1 Park, Michel Camp.

Speaking on the theme, ‘The Empty Grave: A Sign of the Resurrection Power,’ he indicated that Jesus Christ uniquely prophesied His death and resurrection, distinguishing Him from all other religious figures.

Referencing Matthew 12:38–40, he drew parallels between Jonah’s three days in the belly of the whale and Jesus’ resurrection on the third day, highlighting the fulfillment of prophecy and the divine nature of Christ’s mission.

‘The empty tomb is not just a historical fact; it’s the cornerstone of our faith,’ Apostle Kumi-Larbi declared. He cited 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 to affirm that the Christian’s belief is anchored in the death and resurrection of Jesus, events corroborated by multiple eyewitness accounts, including appearances to Mary Magdalene, Peter, James, and over 500 others.

Addressing the skepticisms surrounding the resurrection, Apostle Kumi-Larbi refuted theories suggesting that Jesus merely fell into a coma, that His body was stolen, or that witnesses experienced hallucinations. He pointed to John 19:33–34, which details the piercing of Jesus’ side, as evidence of His actual death, thereby validating the miracle of His resurrection.

‘The resurrection is God’s affirmation of Jesus as His Son and our Saviour,’ he stated, adding, ‘It guarantees our own resurrection and signifies Christ’s ultimate victory over death.’

Drawing from Colossians 3:1–4 and Ephesians 2:6, Apostle Kumi-Larbi encouraged believers to live in the reality of their union with Christ, seated with Him in the heavenly realms. He urged Christians to shed sinful behaviours and embrace a life reflective of their resurrected Lord.

‘Because the tomb is empty, we have every reason to celebrate,’ he said, adding, ‘Let us live as people transformed by the resurrection, embodying the hope and power it brings.’

The Area Head joined the Michel Camp Zone, which comprises the Goshen, Michel Camp, and Gbetsile Districts.

22 Newly Employed Headquarters Staff Receive Training

The Human Resource Department of The Church of Pentecost, led by Elder Samuel Addo Mantey, has organised a five-day orientation for twenty-two newly employed staff members.

The training which took place from March 31 to April 4, 2025, at Pentecost Pension House, Gbawe, Accra, was to sensitise and equip the new employees with knowledge about their work schedule, environment, and roles to enable them to fit well into the church work system.

Topics such as organisational culture, stress management, digitalisation, and the core values of the church were covered. Participants were also briefed on the conditions of service.

They also received general orientation and departmental sessions in areas such as executive assistance, driving, accounting, cleaning, stores, and security.

The Finance and Administration Director (FAD) of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Emmanuel Kobina Appah, stressed the importance of loyalty to their employer during his presentation on organisational culture.

Pastor Appah stated that the staff of the church are considered the most valuable resource. Therefore, management is committed to engaging people who will show loyalty and commitment to the vision, mission, principles, and core values of the church.

He referenced Proverbs 3:21-24, noting that professional relationships can only be achieved in a work environment where staff members understand the culture and beliefs under which an organisation operates. This, he said, will enable them to fit well into the system.

The FAD also mentioned that organisational culture is influenced by employees over time. Hence, it is imperative for staff to understand the objectives, mission, and vision statement of the church to avoid comparing their employer to other organisations.

‘It should not always be about what employees get or receive from their employers, but what they can contribute positively towards the growth of the establishment,’ he noted, adding, ‘Jealously guard the culture which serves as the foundation to thrive on.’

The training featured personalities such as Mr Isaac Obuobi (Resident Physician Assistant at the Headquarters), Pastor Frank Amoah-Owusu (Administrative Secretary to the General Secretary), Pastor Paul Odai Laryea (Head of IT), Pastor Dei, Mr. Cecil Garbah, and Ms Priscilla Nyarkoah Asamoah, among others.

Be Holistic, Faithful, and Fruitful – Pastor Charles K. Fosu Urges Ministers

The Kete-Krachi Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Charles K. Fosu, has called on ministers to embody godly virtues that lead to effective ministry.

He made this appeal during a three-day Pre-Easter Retreat for all ministers and their wives in the Kete-Krachi Area, speaking on the theme: “Characteristics of an Effective Minister” (1 Timothy 4:12–15).

Pastor Fosu defined effectiveness as the ability to achieve an intended purpose. He noted that a truly effective minister is one who accomplishes the mission for which he has been sent — a calling that requires both spiritual depth and practical leadership skills.

Quoting Matthew 28:20, he encouraged ministers to teach sound doctrine and uphold biblical truth. “We are called not just to speak, but to impart truth that transforms lives,” he emphasised.

Citing 1 Samuel 12:23, Pastor Fosu underscored the importance of intercession, urging ministers to regularly fast and engage in intentional prayer for their members.

He reminded ministers of their divine mandate to bear lasting fruit through soul-winning, church planting, water baptism, and financial stewardship. He encouraged diligence in all aspects of ministry and cautioned against complacency, referencing Philippians 3:12–14.

Pastor Fosu also stressed the minister’s role as an agent of transformation, urging them to initiate impactful projects and create thriving environments in their districts. “Make your district heaven and live there,” he advised.

He further encouraged ministers to be able to organise effectively, win the hearts of their members, and operate in their spiritual gifts.

In concluding his message, Pastor Fosu shared practical tips for long-term ministerial effectiveness: consistent Bible study, hard work, and unwavering faithfulness. He also advised ministers to care for their health, visit members regularly, and pray with and for them.

“Set clear goals for your district. Pursue the vision of the Church. Let faithfulness be your compass,” he exhorted, referencing 1 Corinthians 4:2.

He ended with a strong caution against greed, urging contentment and responsible management of resources provided at both district and local levels.

CoP Headquarters, Achimota Area Extend Generous Support To Kete Krachi Area

The Church of Pentecost (CoP) Headquarters, through its Missions Board, has donated GH₵50,000.00 to the Kete Krachi Area to support gospel work in two remote districts.

The donation facilitated the purchase of two brand-new Apsonic motorbikes, which have been presented to the Osramani and Kwaakuae Districts. These motorbikes will greatly enhance the mobility of ministers, enabling them to carry out evangelistic and pastoral duties more effectively.

In a further show of partnership, the Achimota Area, under the dynamic leadership of Apostle Joseph Danzerl, provided additional logistical support by donating two tricycles to the Kojoboni and Osramani Districts. These vehicles will assist with transportation and other church-related activities.

Understanding the unique geographical challenges faced by some assemblies, the Achimota Area also contributed an impressive GH₵65,000.00 to the Lakeside District. This amount is designated for the construction of a boat and the purchase of an outboard motor, crucial for reaching Lakeside local assemblies accessible only by water.

This combined generosity reflects the Church’s steadfast commitment to missions and the empowerment of rural and underserved districts.

Indeed, this is a significant blessing and a powerful expression of the Church’s vision to possess the nations.

Our Private Lives Determine Our Public Value Before God — Apostle Eric Nyamekye web

Our Private Lives Determine Our Public Value Before God — Apostle Eric Nyamekye

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has encouraged Christians to prioritise spending quality time with God and cultivating a close relationship with Him, emphasising it as the key to living a spiritually impactful life and demonstrating God’s power in the public sphere.

“Our worth to God in public is directly linked to the value we place on our walk with Him in the closet. If a Christian’s daily routine lacks dedicated quality time to know the ways of the Lord, they will not experience much of God’s power and may, in turn, deny God vessels He can use in the public sphere,” he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye made this assertion during a live telecast service dubbed ‘Special Evening Service’ aired on Pent TV on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Continuing his serialised sermon on “The Two Kinds of Kingdom Authority,” he highlighted prayer, fasting, meditation, studying, and obeying God’s word as key practices for aligning oneself with the ways of God, citing Simeon and Anna as examples of individuals devoted to God’s presence, as detailed in Luke 2:25-32, 37.

“The primary purpose of communication is to build relationships. Prayer is not just for asking and receiving; otherwise, ‘pray without ceasing’ would not be necessary. But as long as we practice the presence of God in communication, we build a relationship with Him. Those who dedicate consistent time to God develop strong relationships with Him.”

Chairman Nyamekye pointed out that God can use anyone at any time, provided they are open to the Spirit.

“We must not limit God. He can use anyone at any time and anywhere. We must allow ourselves to be moved by the Spirit, for this is what makes us children of God,” he said.

He stressed the importance of believers aligning themselves with the truth to remain relevant to the church’s mission.

“What the Church really needs today are people whom the Holy Spirit can use — children of God who have become His friends and are, therefore, acquainted with His ways. It is not enough to be a child of God; you must also be His friend,” he explained.

Referencing Exodus 40:33-34, 38, Apostle Nyamekye, who also serves as the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), explained the symbolic significance of the Tent of Meeting and God’s presence among the Israelites. He noted that God wanted the Israelites to focus on His presence in their midst, rather than merely recognising His universal presence. He urged believers to be mindful of God’s indwelling presence in their lives as a means to grow spiritually and effectively partner with Him in transforming the world.

“Our body is a type of tent, and our inner man is where God resides. The tent represents the human body, and the ark in the inner chamber represents the presence of God in the believer’s heart,” he stated.

He added, “As we walk with God, we are expected to grow. To join Jesus in the workplace, on the streets, and wherever we are, we must first be spiritually aware of His presence in us and intentionally cultivate it. Only then can we become transformative agents in God’s hands.”

Apostle Eric Nyamekye encouraged believers to earnestly seek the Spirit of God to become a blessing to humanity, citing John 7:37.

“When we thirst and hunger for the Spirit of God, as the scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from within us. Let us pay attention to the Spirit of God within us,” he advised.

He concluded by highlighting the crucial role of believers’ spiritual maturity and commitment to their values in bringing meaningful transformation to their lives and the broader community.

“All Christians carry the same gospel and life, but the difference lies in the spiritual character of the believer. We must work on the tent within us. When we do this, our spirituality will impact the people around us,” he affirmed.
