Agyemang Family Donates Church Building To Asofan English Assembly web

Agyemang Family Donates Church Building To Asofan English Assembly

Mr William Agyemang and his wife, Deaconess Mrs Mary Agyemang, have singlehandedly constructed and donated a fully-furnished church building to the Asofan English Assembly in the Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost.

The new church building was dedicated on Friday,  January 31, 2025, by the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, with support from the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Danzerl.

The Agyemang family went beyond the construction of the church building by furnishing it with 200 customised chairs, a lectern, and musical instruments, ensuring the assembly is well-prepared for worship services.

During the dedication service, Apostle Obuobi delivered a sermon on the theme, ‘House of Prayer,’ highlighting the importance of maintaining prayer as the foundation of the church.

He referenced Matthew 21:12-13 to highlight Jesus’ intent for the temple to be a place of prayer for all nations, not a commercial centre.

‘The house of God is not a place for entertainment or business; it is supposed to be a house of prayer,’ Apostle Obuobi stated.

He added: ‘The very nature and character of the church should reflect prayer. At all times, the house of God should be prayerful.’

Apostle Obuobi also spoke on the transformative power of prayer, citing Acts 4:33: ‘In prayer, we receive great grace and great power. Grace, in this context, is the enabling power of God that comes upon the believer, enabling them to do what they ordinarily cannot do.’

He urged Christians to incorporate prayer into all aspects of their lives, including marriage, studies, health, and ministry.

‘If we want to see great grace and power at work, we must remain prayerful,’ he concluded.

The Asofan English Assembly is one of six local assemblies within the Asofan District of The Church of Pentecost. The district was established in 2019 after being carved out of the Ofankor District.

The dedication service was graced by several dignitaries, including Apostle Bright Nyamedor (Director, Ghana Evangelism Committee/Resident Minister, Petroleum Worship Centre), ministers from the area, and traditional rulers.

WHAT I AM MADE FOR A WORTHY CALLING AS A DISTINGUISHED POLICE OFFICER TO IMPACT GENERATIONS web

What I Am Made For: A Worthy Calling As A Distinguished Police Officer To Impact Generations

Every individual is born with a purpose—a divine calling embedded in their being, waiting to manifest through commitment, resilience, and faithfulness. As a police officer with a career rooted in high integrity and a heart committed to justice, I have come to realise that my role transcends the badge and the uniform. It is a ministry of service, an opportunity to impact lives and inspire generations.

The Call to Serve

Being a police officer is not merely a profession; it is a calling. The responsibilities entrusted to us extend far beyond enforcing laws and maintaining order. We are custodians of peace, stewards of justice, and protectors of the vulnerable. In my journey, I have learnt that integrity, compassion, and wisdom are the pillars of effective service.

In the words of the Apostle Paul, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). These words have guided me through the challenges of law enforcement, reminding me that my labour is not in vain when done with a pure heart and for the greater good.

A Journey of Integrity and Excellence

Integrity is the cornerstone of my career. It is the uncompromising principle that defines every action I take, ensuring fairness and accountability in all circumstances. Upholding integrity has not always been easy in a world where shortcuts and compromises often promise quick results. However, I have learnt that the path of righteousness, though arduous, is the only route to enduring success.

As an award-winning investigator, my commitment to excellence has opened doors to profound opportunities. Each case I solve, each life I touch, and each injustice I address is a testament to the belief that our actions today echo into eternity. True distinction comes not from accolades but from the legacy we leave in the hearts and minds of those we serve.

Impacting Generations Through Leadership

My role as Ebenezer Assembly Worker’s Guild Coordinator in the Darkuman District of The Church of Pentecost has reinforced the belief that leadership is about empowerment. It is about nurturing the potential in others and guiding them to fulfil their callings. Just as Christ led with humility and purpose, so too must we lead in every sphere of influence.

In my capacity as a police officer, I have endeavoured to mentor young officers, instilling in them the values of discipline, integrity, and compassion. Beyond the confines of law enforcement, I strive to inspire the youth to embrace service, reminding them that greatness lies in sacrifice and a heart devoted to others.

Faith as the Anchor

My faith has been the anchor of my calling. As the Faithful Gent President of the Darkuman Ebenezer Assembly, I have seen firsthand how God equips us for the tasks He entrusts to us. Balancing my professional responsibilities with my spiritual and family commitments has been challenging but fulfilling. It is through Christ that I draw the strength to persevere, the wisdom to navigate complexities, and the grace to uplift those around me.

A Legacy of Hope

What am I made for? I am made to be a beacon of hope, a defender of justice, and a voice for the voiceless. My calling as a police officer is not limited to enforcing laws but extends to inspiring change and transforming lives. It is about leaving a legacy that speaks not only of my achievements but of the values I stand for.

To my colleagues in law enforcement, my fellow church members, and the generations to come: let us commit ourselves to lives of purpose and integrity. Let us embrace our callings with passion and dedication, knowing that we are shaping a future rooted in justice, compassion, and truth. Together, we can impact generations, leaving a world better than we found it.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I am made to serve. I am called to lead. I am chosen to inspire. And in doing so, I am fulfilling my worthy calling as a distinguished police officer to impact generations.

Mentorship, Active Participation Key To Church Renewal – Apostle Kumi-Larbi web

Mentorship, Active Participation Key To Church Renewal – Apostle Kumi-Larbi

The Ashaiman Area Head and immediate past General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has underscored the critical role of mentorship and active participation in revitalising local church worship and fellowship.

He urged church leaders to be intentional in mentoring and raising leaders at the local level, stating that such efforts are essential for building God’s Kingdom on earth.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Revitalising Worship and Fellowship in the Local Assembly’ during the Greater Accra Regional Ministers and Wives’ Conference 2025, held at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Fetteh, he stated, ‘Every church, regardless of its current state, needs revitalisation to maintain its health and missional energy.’

Apostle Kumi-Larbi pointed out that the local church should serve as an equipping centre, preparing members to impact others. He explained that worship should not be confined to a physical temple but should occur wherever believers gather, stating that ‘worship, as a lifestyle of daily service to God, should not be confined to a physical temple but should occur wherever believers gather.’

He also underscored the importance of fellowship in building friendships and unity, contributing to God’s Kingdom on earth.

To achieve revitalisation, he advocated for mentoring and raising leaders at the local level, ensuring that church leaders are intentional and strategic in their approach.

The Executive Council Member stressed that ‘regular church attendance and active participation in outreach events are vital, as they help members become more invested in the church’s health and future.’

He further highlighted the value of small groups in fostering deeper fellowship and generosity among church members. By embracing change, rediscovering the church’s mission, and remaining patient throughout the journey, he believes churches can experience transformative renewal.

‘The local church is where the real action is,’ emphasising its role as the strength of the Church and the place where practical ministry and congregational life occur.

Children have a role in the Possessing the Nations Agenda - Apostle Nyamekye web

Children Have Role In Possessing The Nations Agenda – Apostle Nyamekye

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has indicated that children in the church have a role to play in the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

He said this on Sunday, January 26, 2025, when he joined the Children’s Ministry of the Kaneshie Worship Centre for a special time of fellowship.

Apostle Nyamekye informed the children that The Church of Pentecost is not solely for adults; children are equally vital members.

He discussed the church’s Vision 2028, rooted in Ephesians 3:10-11, which calls for transformation through the gospel. He traced the church’s leadership history, highlighting that God appoints leaders who come out with visions at every juncture. He stated that the current vision, ‘Possession the Nations,’ agenda is a mandate for both children and adults to actively participate in it.

Chairman Nyamekye called on children to embody their Christian identity in their schools and communities. He encouraged them to share the teachings they receive at church and to act as agents of change by addressing wrongdoings around them.

‘When you go to school let others know you are Christians and strive to transform your environment with love and good deeds,’ he stated.

This transformation, he said, extends beyond personal conduct; it encompasses efforts to combat societal issues like corruption.

He reiterated that the ‘whole’ church includes everyone—adults and children alike. He explained that Vision 2028 seeks to redefine ministry as any action that aligns with Kingdom values.

Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that ministry is not confined to church activities but should be evident in everyday life. He outlined practical actions children can take at home and school, encouraging them to share God’s word with family members, show respect and obedience to parents, assist with household chores, express love towards classmates, invite peers to learn about Christ, and support those in need through prayer and kindness.

Don’t Honour Satan By Disobeying God - Apostle Samuel Obuobi Tells Christians web

Don’t Honour Satan By Disobeying God – Apostle Samuel Obuobi Tells Christians

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has emphasized that disobedience to God inadvertently honours the devil.

“Whenever you believe in anything over God’s word, you invite trouble,” Apostle Obuobi said. “By obeying the devil, Adam and Eve honoured him, and their disobedience to God resulted in separation from God, bringing death and loss of glory.”

He made this remark during a fellowship with members of the Bethel Assembly in the New Juaben District of The Church of Pentecost on Gospel Sunday.

Speaking on the topic “The Door of Salvation,” Apostle Obuobi used John 10:9 as a key scripture reference, explaining that the need for salvation began in the Garden of Eden, when man first disobeyed God’s command.

He highlighted that God’s creation was perfect until Adam and Eve chose to believe the devil over God’s word.

He emphasized that Jesus Christ is the only door to salvation, citing John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Apostle Obuobi reminded the congregation that there is no other way to be saved—Jesus alone is the mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

“The testimony of God is that eternal life is found in His Son alone,” he stated. “Jesus is the exclusive way to salvation, but He is open to all who call on His name in faith (Romans 10:13).”

The General Secretary pointed out that the door of salvation is open to everyone who seeks Jesus, as He is the only access point for salvation (John 10:9). However, he also cautioned that the door will one day be closed, referencing Luke 13:25-27: “When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ But He will answer, ‘I do not know you.’”

Apostle Obuobi warned that the opportunity for salvation will not last forever. “The door to salvation is open now, but when the rapture comes or when death calls, that door will be closed,” he said.

Apostle Arhin Outlines Four Keys Requisite For Living A Worthy Christian Life web

Apostle Arhin Outlines Four Keys Requisite For Living A Worthy Christian Life

If Christians imbibe and exhibit virtues such as humility, gentleness, patience, and love, they will be able to live a blameless and Christlike life and transform their spheres.

A member of the Executive Council of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, who also serves as the Coordinator of the Western Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) of the church, disclosed this during a sermon to climax the Western Regional RCC Ministers and Wives’ Conference at the Akroma Plaza Hotel in Takoradi on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Living a Life Worthy of Your Calling’ (Ephesians 4:1-4), Apostle Arhin noted with concern that although the world is dominated by Christians, there is still much questionable behaviour in the public space.

‘We should not separate our public life from our calling. There is a big burden to leave a church that reflects the lifestyle of Christ to the next generation,’ he said.

Apostle Arhin, who is the Takoradi Area Head of the church, explained that just as toddlers go through stages before they start to crawl and walk, pastors should also take time to teach their members how to walk and grow in their Christian journey.

‘Our teachings, prayers, and discipline help the members to become fully mature in their walk with Christ and live a life worthy of their calling,’ he pointed out.

According to him, Apostle Paul, in his letter to the church in Ephesus, described himself as a prisoner of Christ, creating the impression that being a Christian involves hardship and challenges, something he said believers cannot escape from since Jesus went through persecution to save humanity.

‘We should teach our members to learn to possess longsuffering,” he said, adding, ‘God is alive, and there is heaven. So, if you are going through pains today, endure it for the sake of your faith. We should let nothing take away the glory that has been prepared for us in heaven; just endure for a while.’

With regards to humility, Apostle Arhin called on believers to respect others more than themselves. He pointed out that the world values toughness, boldness, and revenge, but in Christ, it is calmness that is valued, which is directly opposite to what the world demands.

On gentleness, he explained that a person with a gentle spirit soothes all situations. Reading from Matthew 11:29, he urged all Christians to be gentle just as Jesus is. He appealed to believers to learn how to control themselves in the face of challenges.

He advised believers to be patient in whatever they do, saying, ‘As a child of God, you will go through pains and suffering, but let nothing shake you’ (Philippians 2:14-15). ‘Suffer long for the sake of heaven. If Christ himself came down to earth to suffer for us to have everlasting life, then you must also suffer long.’

On love, Apostle Arhin mentioned that love makes room for others, making allowance for their faults and failures.

‘If you love those who hurt you, then people will know that you are walking in a life worthy of your calling. Jesus healed the people and fed them, but the same people called for his crucifixion, yet he did not despise them,’ he concluded.

Evil Hands Cannot Carry The Ark of God - General Secretary web

Evil Hands Cannot Carry The Ark of God – General Secretary

Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, has warned ministers and wives of the Church that “Evil hands cannot carry the Ark of God.”

His warning came during his message on Day 5 of the Ministers and Wives Conference for the Eastern Region, where he addressed the theme: “The Lost Glory – The Causes.”

Speaking to the gathering, Apostle Obuobi cautioned that engaging in sin causes ministers and wives to lose the Kabowd, the glory of God, which is essential for an effective ministry.

He stressed that it is not enough to simply hold ministerial titles; what matters most is the condition of one’s heart and relationship with God.

Referencing the story from 1 Samuel 4:10-11, the General Secretary reminded the congregation that the Ark of the Covenant, representing the glory and presence of God, was captured by the Philistines after the priests, Hophni and Phinehas, who were living in sin, carried it into battle.

He emphasized, “So the Lord departed them and made the Ark an ordinary material,” highlighting that when individuals in ministry live unrighteous lives, they jeopardize the very presence of God in their service.

Apostle Obuobi further warned that failure to spend quality time in prayer and the Word of God will lead to the loss of God’s glory.

He urged ministers to stay committed to leading holy and righteous lives, warning that failure to do so would result in a spiritual downfall. He stated that “Evil hands cannot carry the Ark of God,” stressing that sin and unholiness are incompatible with the presence of God and His glory.

He encouraged ministers and wives to prioritize spending time in God’s presence, for it is only through intimacy with Him that they can be empowered for greater impact in ministry.

Living Your Faith In The Public Sphere Leads Unbelievers To Christ web

Living Your Faith In The Public Sphere Leads Unbelievers To Christ – Apostle Tiakor

The Asante Bekwai Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Fred Tiakor, has stated that living one’s faith in the public sphere is crucial for influencing many to come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

He reminded believers that the church is called out of the world by God and sent back into the world to function. Therefore, it is essential for believers to live lives that authenticate their faith.

Apostle Tiakor spoke on the topic, ‘Living Your Faith in the Public Sphere,’ at the 2025 Ministers and Wives’ Conference on January 22, 2025, at the Asokwa PIWC in the Ashanti Region.

Elaborating on the significance of living one’s faith in the public sphere, Apostle Tiakor stated that one of the ways unbelievers can encounter Christ is through the manifestation of faith in the public sphere. It is therefore necessary for the Church to develop strategies to reach out to people.

He explained that the public sphere represents life beyond the private domain, and a faithful life in Christ is demonstrated in the public sphere. As workers of God, it is expected that every believer lives a life worthy of acknowledgment, he said.

‘Most believers spend the majority of their time at work and school. The work environment is arguably where we engage the most, and it is the most fertile ministry field where we encourage our faith to be lived,’ he said, adding, ‘Our charge is to go and make disciples of all nations, which never ceases as long as Jesus tarries.’

He called on believers to be committed to obeying and living virtuous lifestyles to make their calling complete and easy to be imitated by the world.

The former Children’s Director of the church touched on the believer’s firm knowledge of their identity, including dual citizenship on earth and in heaven, the need to have deep roots in Christ, live out the Word, balance and accountability, respect, integrity, and other qualities that must be demonstrated to help transform the thoughts of unbelievers, especially in the public sphere.

Regarding the Church’s approach to influencing many through public sphere lifestyles, Apostle Tiakor suggested that the church could partner with the state and the private sector to share human resources to serve in public roles with the strategic aim of influencing society. He further encouraged church leaders to regularly visit members at their workplaces or places of study.

He added: ‘Christians in the public sphere must actively engage with society and not be detached. The church must intentionally train, equip, mentor, and release members into the public sphere.’

He concluded that there is no real public faith without private faith, and lives can only be reflected in the public sphere if Christians first demonstrate their genuineness and possess an attractive faith.
