Living Victoriously Through The Resurrection Power Of Christ

The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ stands as the foundation of the victorious life of every believer. Through His triumph over death, Christians have been elevated from shame to glory, from pain to joy, and from defeat to victory. The resurrection is not only an event to be remembered but a reality to be experienced daily in the lives of those who believe in Him.

Jesus Christ endured humiliation, disgrace, and intense suffering, yet He remained obedient to the will of the Father because He was sent to die in place of humanity. His suffering was not in vain; it formed part of God’s divine plan to restore mankind to a place of honour and fellowship with Him. From the beginning in the Garden of Eden, humanity fell to the cunning deception of the serpent, surrendering the authority God had entrusted to man. As a result of disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing shame, separation, and death.

After the fall, Adam and Eve attempted to cover their nakedness with fig leaves and hid from the presence of God. However, God, in His mercy, provided a more enduring covering by clothing them with animal skins, symbolising His redemptive plan for humanity. In Genesis 3:15, God declared enmity between the serpent and the seed of the woman, pointing to the ultimate victory that would come through Jesus Christ. This marked the beginning of an ancient spiritual conflict between humanity and Satan, a battle that mankind could never have won without divine intervention.

Through His death on the cross and His resurrection on the third day, Jesus conquered death and defeated the kingdom of darkness. His victory restored the glory and dominion that humanity had lost and made it available to all who believe. The resurrection of Christ, therefore, assures believers that victory over sin and Satan has already been secured.

In the light of this truth, Christians are called to live in the power of the resurrection, demonstrating righteous living and godly character. Scripture reminds believers that they are seated in heavenly places with Christ, signifying authority and triumph. As such, every Christian must appropriate this victory daily and walk confidently in the identity secured through Christ’s resurrection. May every believer continue to live in the fullness of this victory and abound in works that glorify God.

Shanghai District Climaxes Easter Convention with Spirit-Filled Grand Celebration

The Church of Pentecost (COP) China, Shanghai District, successfully climaxed its 2026 Easter Convention with a vibrant celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The four-day event, which began on Thursday, April 2, 2026, concluded on Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2026, with an in-person service held at the Shanghai City Worship Centre (SCWC) and streamed live via the e-church module for members who could not attend physically.

The auditorium of the Shanghai City Worship Centre was filled with approximately one hundred congregants drawn from various Assemblies across the District, including Jiangsu City Worship Centre (JCWC), Nanjing PIWC, and Anhui City Worship Centre (ACWC).

Members travelled from different parts of the district to commemorate the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of humanity. The earlier sessions of the convention were held virtually to accommodate the geographically dispersed membership across the eastern provinces of China.

The District Minister, Probationary Overseer Dr Wisdom Dewortor, opened the convention with a sermon on the theme, “The Rugged Cross: The Sinner’s Joy.” In his message, he expounded on the significance of the cross as a symbol of redemption and outlined the events leading to Christ’s crucifixion, including His condemnation, suffering, and ultimate sacrifice.

He emphasised that Jesus’ death cancelled the debt of sin and disarmed the powers of darkness, urging believers to strengthen their faith in God and remain vigilant against the schemes of the enemy.

During the climax service on Sunday, Elder Anokye-Wusu delivered a prophetic exhortation reminding believers of the victory secured through the finished work of Christ on the cross. The message encouraged members to remain steadfast in their relationship with the Lord and to trust in the peace, healing, and victory made available through Christ’s sacrifice.

Also ministering during the service, Elder Maxwell Aidoo preached on the topic, “The Rugged Cross Where the Sinner Finds Joy, Victory and a New Life,” based on Colossians 2:13-15. He explained that what was intended as an instrument of shame became a symbol of victory through Christ’s death and resurrection.

According to him, through Christ’s sacrifice, believers have been reconciled to God, forgiven of their sins, and empowered to live victorious lives as members of a royal priesthood.

The congregation was later led in fervent prayers by Brother Eugene Ray, the National Intercessory Team Leader, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere marked by unity and renewed devotion.

The convention also reflected the multicultural nature of the Shanghai District, bringing together believers from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. The participation of members from francophone nations enriched the worship experience, with special song ministrations by Dr Anasia Elingaya Saria and the Swahili Band.

The live streaming of services through the e-church module, facilitated by Dr. Philip Amor Narh and the District Media Ministry, enabled members across distant locations to participate fully in the convention.

As the convention ended, members departed with renewed faith, strengthened hope, and a deeper appreciation of the redemptive work of Christ, committed to carrying the message of His finished work into their respective communities.

Christ Paid Humanity’s Debt in Full, Apostle Acheampong Declares web.jpg

Christ Paid Humanity’s Debt in Full, Apostle Acheampong Declares

The Effiduase Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Stephen Okyere Acheampong, has assured Christians that Jesus Christ has fully paid the debt of sin, emphasising that believers no longer owe anything for their salvation because Christ has completed the work of redemption.

He gave this assurance at the climax of the Effiduase Zone Easter Convention, held at the forecourt of the Ebenezer Assembly on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Drawing from Colossians 2:13-14, Isaiah 53:1-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21, and John 19:28-30, Apostle Acheampong explained that salvation involved a divine transaction in which Jesus paid the full price for humanity’s sins. According to him, Christ’s declaration on the cross that “it is finished” signifies that the payment for sin has been completed, leaving nothing more for humanity to settle.

He noted that although Christians have no debt to pay for their salvation, they can demonstrate gratitude to God through offerings, worship, songs of praise, and by dedicating their entire lives to His service. He urged believers to live faithfully with the expectation of the Lord’s return.

To illustrate his message, Apostle Acheampong used the analogy of a convicted prisoner who must either serve a sentence or pay a fine before being released. He explained that until a penalty is fully served or paid, freedom cannot be granted. In the same way, he said, judgment came upon humanity in the Garden of Eden as recorded in Genesis 3, making mankind prisoners of sin under the bondage of Satan.

He further explained that just as a prisoner cannot free another prisoner, no human being could save another from the penalty of sin, which leads to death. Humanity, he noted, could not meet God’s standard of holiness because of sin and therefore could not stand justified before Him.

According to Apostle Acheampong, it was for this reason that Jesus Christ came to suffer on behalf of humanity to secure their release from the penalty of sin. He stressed that Christ’s finished work covers the past, present, and future, assuring believers of complete salvation.

Concluding his message, Apostle Acheampong encouraged Christians to remain bold in their faith and to confront the enemy with confidence, reminding them to declare “it is finished” whenever they face spiritual opposition.

The event was attended by the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Hon. Nana Osei Adjei, and the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North, Hon. Comfort Asante.

The Cross Of Christ Brings Salvation And Redemption To Humanity web.jpg

“The Cross Of Christ Brings Salvation And Redemption To Humanity” – Pastor Nelson Adu

The Resident Minister for the James McKeown Worship Centre (JMWC) in the Sakumono Area of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Nelson Adu, has emphasised that the cross of Jesus Christ carries a message of salvation and redemption for all who believe in Him.

He made this assertion when he delivered a sermon on Friday evening, April 2, 2026, during the Easter Convention organised for the English Zone of the Sakumono Area. The convention forms part of this year’s Easter celebrations held under the theme, “The Crucified Jesus Christ Has Risen,” based on Matthew 28:2-7, Mark 16:5-7, and Luke 24:6-7.

Speaking on the sub-theme, “The Journey from the Garden of Eden to the Garden of Gethsemane,” Pastor Nelson Adu drew significant parallels between the two biblical gardens and highlighted the spiritual benefits humanity received through the events at Gethsemane. He explained that while the fall of humanity occurred in the Garden of Eden, the decisive defeat of Satan began in the Garden of Gethsemane, referencing Genesis 3:1-26 and Matthew 26:36-56.

According to him, Adam sinned in Eden, but Jesus Christ, described as the last Adam, suffered in Gethsemane to atone for the sins of humanity. He noted that although Adam and Eve failed in Eden, Jesus triumphed in Gethsemane through His obedience to God’s will. Pastor Nelson further explained that the troubles, pain, sorrow, sickness, and death that began in Eden found their answer in Gethsemane, where Jesus bore the burdens of humanity and secured joy, deliverance, salvation, and life for all believers.

He also highlighted other contrasts between the two gardens, noting that the conflict in Eden took place during the day, while the struggle in Gethsemane occurred at night. He added that while humanity was lost through Adam’s fall in Eden, victory was secured in Gethsemane through Christ’s submission. He further explained that whereas Adam was cursed to labour and sweat because of sin, Jesus’ intense agony in Gethsemane caused His sweat to fall like drops of blood upon the cursed ground, symbolising redemption.

Pastor Nelson Adu concluded by recounting the arrest of Jesus in Gethsemane, explaining that He was taken before Annas and later Caiaphas, where He was falsely accused and condemned despite His innocence. He stressed that Christ endured these trials for the sins of humanity, culminating in His crucifixion for the redemption of mankind.

Christ’s Death Brought Salvation And Victory, Apostle Nuekpe Declares web.jpg

Christ’s Death Brought Salvation And Victory, Apostle Nuekpe Declares

Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, La Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, has stated that Christians do not mourn the death of Jesus Christ but celebrate it because it brought salvation and victory to humanity.

He made this assertion while preaching on Good Friday morning during the 2026 Easter Convention held at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Zone in the La Area.

According to Apostle Dr Nuekpe, the death of ordinary individuals in many communities often results in division, lasting pain, sorrow, and defeat. However, he explained that the death of Jesus Christ produced a different outcome, bringing salvation and hope to all mankind.

He emphasised that Christians celebrate rather than mourn because the death of Jesus secured victory for humanity. He noted that the death of Christ marked a turning point for mankind, replacing sorrow with joy through the salvation made available to all who believe in Him.

Using Matthew 28:1-7 as his main scriptural reference, Apostle Dr Nuekpe structured his message around the cause of Christ’s death, the significance of His death, the proof of His resurrection, and the responsibility that follows His sacrifice.

He explained that Jesus died to grant humanity forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the promise of eternal life. According to him, these blessings demonstrate the depth of God’s love for mankind and the victory secured through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

The 2026 Easter Convention in the La Area was organised across six zones under the theme, “He Is Risen! That I May Transform Society Through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:6).

The PIWC Zone brought together members from PIWC Kokomlemle and PIWC French, Accra, for a joint convention conducted in both English and French languages. The gathering provided an opportunity for members from diverse linguistic backgrounds to worship together and reflect on the significance of Christ’s death and resurrection.

Believers Made Alive Through Christ’s Death web.jpg

Believers Made Alive Through Christ’s Death – Apostle Tawiah

The Tamale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost and member of the Executive Council, Apostle John Budu Kobena Tawiah, has stated that believers have been made alive through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

He delivered the message during the climax of this year’s Easter Convention of the Tamale Central District, held under the theme, “Died with Christ, Alive with Him” (Romans 6:5–8, 11).

Apostle Tawiah traced the theological foundation of the theme to Romans Chapter Five, where the Apostle Paul explains how sin entered the world through Adam and spread to all humanity, while grace came through the death of Jesus Christ for the justification of those who believe (Romans 5:12–15). He noted that in Romans Chapter Six, Paul cautions believers against continuing in sin under the excuse of abundant grace (Romans 6:1–2).

According to Apostle Tawiah, believers are called to live above sin because they have died to it. “If we have died to sin, we cannot continue to live in it,” he stated, citing Romans 6:6 and 1 John 3:9. He explained that through Christ, believers have died, been buried and resurrected into a new life.

He further explained that water baptism symbolises this profound spiritual experience, with immersion into water representing burial and rising from it (Romans 6:4). As a result, the believer who has been crucified with Christ no longer lives according to the old way of life but walks in newness of life, as described in 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Apostle Tawiah highlighted several transformations that accompany this new life in Christ. These include dying to the old self (Colossians 3:3–5), crucifying the former way of life (Ephesians 4:22–24), deliverance from the power of sin, and participation in the resurrection life of Christ (Romans 6:5; Ephesians 2:4–6). He stressed that believers have received a new identity created in the likeness of God and must allow themselves to be continually transformed into that image (Ephesians 4:24).

He noted that every believer has a past life, referred to as the “old self,” but through Christ, believers are being conformed to the image of the Son of God (Romans 8:29). Just as Christ took on human nature, believers are being transformed towards a divine character, he explained.

The Tamale Area Head further urged believers to live resurrected lives, empowered to overcome sin and reflect transformed living. Because believers are seated with Christ in heavenly places, he encouraged them to set their hearts and minds on things above (Ephesians 2:6; Colossians 3:1–3; Philippians 3:20). He cautioned against the corruption of the world, stating that resurrected believers are called to live distinct and holy lives.

He concluded by urging believers to demonstrate through their daily conduct that they have truly been made alive in Christ, showing evidence of being a new creation.

Present at the service were Mrs Agartha Tawiah, wife of the Area Head; Pastor Jonah Sei and his wife Grace; as well as officers and members of the Tamale Central District.

Christ Fulfilled Messianic Prophecies Beyond Human Expectation – Apostle Dr Nyansah Hayfron web

Christ Fulfilled Messianic Prophecies Beyond Human Expectation – Apostle Dr Nyansah Hayfron

The Tarkwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. David Nyansah Hayfron, has highlighted the extraordinary fulfilment of Messianic prophecies in Jesus Christ, describing it as a divine mystery that surpassed human expectations.

Speaking at the climax of the 2026 Easter Convention at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Tarkwa on Sunday, April 5, 2026, he explained that although the Jewish people anticipated a Messiah, many found it difficult to accept that one person could fulfil the numerous prophecies spoken about Him.

According to Apostle Dr Hayfron, more than 300 prophecies pointed to the coming Messiah—covering His lineage, mission, and authority—all of which were fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

He noted that the Jews expected a purely human leader, a descendant of King David, who would restore the Davidic kingdom, unite Israel, and establish global political rule. However, he explained that God’s plan went far beyond these expectations.

“God worked through a complex divine agenda to bring salvation to humanity because sin is not cheap,” he stated.

Apostle Hayfron further indicated that through Christ, God transformed the criteria for belonging to His people—from physical descent and outward practices to inward transformation through faith.

“In the New Testament, being part of God’s people is no longer about lineage, but about the circumcision of the heart,” he emphasised.

He added that through salvation in Christ, God has fulfilled His promise of gathering all people, with believers now forming a spiritual community described as “living stones” being built into God’s eternal kingdom.

He concluded that Jesus Christ remains the centrepiece of God’s redemptive plan, perfectly fulfilling prophecy while opening the way for all humanity to become part of God’s family.

Apostle Agyei Speaks On The Journey From Gethsemane To Golgotha web.jpg

Apostle Agyei Speaks On The Journey From Gethsemane To Golgotha

The Sakumono Area of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, recounted the ordeals Christ endured to redeem humanity, describing them as “tests” that believers must also confront.

He said this on the Good Friday when delivering the sermon at the English Assemblies Zone held at PIWC Sakumono auditorium on the theme, “Gethsemane to Golgotha,” gleaned from the overarching theme of the convention: “The Crucified Jesus Christ has Risen” (Matthew 28:2–7, Mark 16:5–7, Luke 24:6–7).

Apostle Agyei disclosed that Jesus prayed three times in agony at Gethsemane, yet heaven remained silent, saying, “Prayer did not change the circumstances, but prayer changed Jesus’ words.”

He explained that God’s silence was not abandonment but alignment with His greater will.

Touching on the test of unanswered prayers, he reminded believers that even Christ’s pleas were denied, stressing that, “If God did not answer His own beloved Son in His time of trials, why do you think all your requests must be answered?”

He cited Abraham, Moses, Paul and the Israelites as examples of prayers answered differently from expectation, underscoring that God’s plan often unfolds in unexpected ways.

On the test of separation, he stated that Jesus took Peter, James and John aside, showing the need for friends who remain steadfast in both triumph and vulnerability. He advised Christians to cultivate friendships that endure “in the valley as well as on the mountain top.”

Regarding the test of sacrifice, he illustrated how true devotion often requires leaving behind one’s best, citing Judas’s betrayal for silver to the woman with the alabaster box. He drew parallels with Elisha abandoning his oxen, Abraham leaving his homeland, and Jesus leaving his heavenly throne to take human form.

By weaving scripture with practical counsel, Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei urged Christians to see unanswered prayers and trials not as signs of neglect but as opportunities to align with God’s will.

Ofaakor Zone Opens Easter Convention With Message on Eternal Life web

Ofaakor Zone Opens Easter Convention With Message On Eternal Life

The Ofaakor Zone of the Downtown Ofaakor Area of The Church of Pentecost has officially commenced its 2026 Easter Convention with a call to embrace the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The five-day spiritual event began on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Ofaakor New Durbar Grounds. The zone comprises three districts – Ofaakor, Queen City and Ebenezer Estate – and the convention is being held on the theme: “God Has Given Us Eternal Life, and This Life Is in His Son” (1 John 5:11; Acts 2:29–36).

Delivering the opening sermon on the topic, “Eternal Life: God’s Indescribable Gift,” the Ofaakor District Minister, Pastor Simon Peter Agyei, emphasised the significance of Jesus Christ as God’s ultimate gift to humanity. Quoting from 1 John 5:11 and Romans 6:23, he explained that eternal life is a divine gift made available through Jesus Christ, noting that unlike ordinary gifts, Christ remains the perfect and incomparable gift given for the salvation of mankind.

Pastor Agyei explained that humanity lost its glory through disobedience in the Garden of Eden, but God, in His mercy, provided Jesus Christ as the means of restoration and reconciliation. Drawing lessons from the biblical account of the man at the Pool of Bethesda, he encouraged believers to depend fully on Christ for transformation and restoration, stating that Jesus alone brings lasting wholeness to the believer.

He further urged the congregation to approach God with thanksgiving, stressing the importance of valuing the gift of eternal life and diligently guarding one’s salvation. Sharing a personal testimony, Pastor Agyei recounted how he experienced deliverance from persistent sleeplessness after accepting Jesus Christ and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The message concluded with an altar call, during which participants were invited to accept Jesus Christ and embrace the salvation made available through Him. The opening service was marked by vibrant praise and worship, with a large turnout of members from the three districts within the zone.

The convention recorded notable spiritual outcomes, including 13 individuals accepting Christ, 10 committing to water baptism and one person receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The service climaxed with intensive prayers, during which many participants sought divine intervention and spiritual renewal.

Ministers present at the opening session included Pastor Simon Peter Agyei, Pastor Thompson Anane of the Queen City District, Pastor Daniel Kwame Nabaku of the Ebenezer Estate District, Apostle (Retired) Dr Benjamin Ali, Pastor (Retired) James Kwasi Hagan and Mrs Gladys Dentu (Retired).

The Easter Convention remains one of the major events on the calendar of The Church of Pentecost, observed annually to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to reinforce the message of salvation among believers.

Easter The Bedrock of the Christian Faith web

Easter: The Bedrock of the Christian Faith

Many people view Easter simply as a time to celebrate, enjoy festivities, and spend time with loved ones. However, Easter is far more than a seasonal holiday; it is the very bedrock of the Christian faith.

At the heart of Christianity lies one defining event – the resurrection of Jesus Christ, celebrated each year during Easter. More than a yearly observance, Easter represents the foundation upon which the entire Christian faith stands. It is an affirmation of life over death, hope over despair, and divine victory over sin.

Easter commemorates the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion – an event recorded in the New Testament of the Bible. This resurrection is not viewed merely as a miraculous occurrence but as the ultimate confirmation of Jesus’ divine nature and mission. It validates His teachings, affirms His identity as the Son of God, and fulfills prophecies recorded in earlier Scriptures.

For Christians, the resurrection is inseparable from the crucifixion commemorated on Good Friday. While Good Friday represents sacrifice and suffering, Easter proclaims triumph and renewal. Together, they form the central narrative of salvation and redemption. Scripture highlights the centrality of the resurrection in unmistakable terms: “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” — 1 Corinthians 15:14 (NIV).

The importance of Easter is powerfully captured in the writings of Paul the Apostle, who emphasised that without the resurrection, the Christian faith would be meaningless. The resurrection assures believers of several key truths: Jesus’ resurrection signifies victory over death and offers the hope of eternal life; through His death and resurrection, believers are reconciled with God and receive forgiveness of sins; and Easter symbolises spiritual rebirth, renewal, and transformation for all who believe.

Beyond its theological significance, Easter carries a universal message of renewal. It speaks to the human experience of suffering and affirms the enduring hope that hardship can give way to transformation, restoration, and new beginnings.

Easter is not just one holiday among many in Christianity; it is its cornerstone. Without the resurrection, there would be no gospel message, no assurance of salvation, and no enduring hope that defines Christian belief. In celebrating Easter, Christians affirm the central truth of their faith – that life, in its fullest and eternal sense, has triumphed through Jesus Christ. Scripture further underscores this truth: “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” — 1 Corinthians 15:17 (NIV). This verse reinforces the conviction expressed by Paul the Apostle that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is absolutely essential, for without it, the entire Christian faith would collapse.
