The Sefwi Bekwai Area of The Church of Pentecost has organized a “Marriage and Family Life” retreat for Officers and their spouses in the Area.
The participants of the event were drawn from the Bekwai Zone of the Area which comprises the Sefwi Bekwai, Lowcost, Humjibre and Awaso Districts.
Drawing lessons from Colossians 3:18-21 and Ephesians 5: 21-25, the Sefwi Bekwai Area Head, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, explained the roles and duties of members of the family unit.
He indicated that all the members of the family, thus father, mother and children, have roles to play in building the family unit and keeping it grounded on Christian values.
He added that just as Christ is the head of the Christian family, they can draw lessons from His perfect example as members of their earthly families.
Apostle Anane Denteh also admonished the participants to dedicate time to family devotions and keep the family altar (prayer meetings) aflame. He further posited that “as parents, we have the sole responsibility to inculcate godly principles into our children.”
The Sefwi Bekwai Area Head also advised Church Leaders to focus much attention on their nuclear families, but not to the neglect of their extended families.
As part of the event, a question and answer session was held to give participants the opportunity to seek clarification on issues of concern.
