A glorious farewell service was held in honour of the outgone Administrative Secretary to the General Secretary and Resident Minister of Russia Worship Centre, Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang and his family on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
The event, which took place at the auditorium of Russia Worship Centre at Dansoman in Accra, was attended by Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary), Pastor Felix Okyere Anti (Administrative Secretary to the General Secretary), Pastor Ebenezer Amartey Ahuakese (Resident Minister, PIWC-Dansoman) and Mrs. Elizabeth Gyesi-Addo (Wife of the International Missions Director). Also present were Staff of The Church of Pentecost Headquarters, RWC members as well as relatives and well wishers of the Addae Agyemang family.
Speaking on the topic “Walking With God” with Genesis 5:24, Hebrews 11:5, Colossians 4:17 and Jude 1:14 as his main Bible texts, the Bethel District Minister, Pastor Bright Adei Mensah stressed that Christianity is all about walking with God by having a daily, consistent and constant fellowship with God.
To be able to walk with God, he explained that one must first accept Jesus as his/her Lord and personal Savior and also build an intimate relationship with God which is certain to result to a glorious reward.
“Unfortunately, many Christians only get serious with God when they have challenges or issues in life, but relax when things are going well and even refuse to attend church service,” he said.
With Amos 3:3 as his reference, Pastor Adei Mensah emphasized that one ought to understand and know who God is in order to walk with Him.
According to him, anyone who desires to walk with God must be willing and ready to follow God no matter the challenges that may come their way bearing in mind that the end will surely be glorious.
To be able to walk with God successfully, the Bethel District Minister, therefore, admonished the Christians to completely trust in God and to be obedient to Him just as Abraham did.
Pastor Bright Adei Mensah concluded his sermon by urging Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang and his family to continually trust and obey God in their ministry and God will surely honour them.
As part of the event, the Russia Worship Centre, the Women’s Ministry, the Dansoman Area Pastorate and the COP Headquarters took turns to testify about Pastor Abraham and Mrs. Georgina Addae Agyemang. Citations were also presented to them in acknowledgement of their commendable service to the church.
Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang served as the Administrative Secretary to the General Secretary at the COP Headquarters for 6 years. During this period, he also took oversight responsibility of the Russia Worship Centre as Resident Minister. Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang has been assigned to Odorkor District as District Minister.
