The Otsenkorang District Children’s Ministry in the Agona Swedru Area of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with TBL Kids Foundation, has donated essential items to the Otsenkorang D/A Basic School.
The donation, worth GHS 6,500.00, included educational materials such as mats, books, pencils, toys, and other learning resources vital for early childhood development.
In addition to the donation, the church painted the crèche block, creating a conducive learning environment for the young children. The gesture not only improved the physical appearance but also enhanced the overall learning atmosphere of the school.
The presentation ceremony, held on September 16, 2024, was attended by key personalities, including Overseer Solomon Boadi (Otsenkorang District Minister) and his wife, Rebecca, children workers in the district, the Assistant Headmaster and several teachers of the school.
The school authorities expressed their deep appreciation to The Church of Pentecost and its partners for the timely intervention.
Adding his voice to the call by the school authorities for government intervention, Overseer Solomon Boadi made a heartfelt plea to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to support the school with more educational materials and post additional teachers to the school to make improve on teaching and learning in the school.
The school is currently operating with only four teachers managing classes from crèche to JHS 3, which presents a significant challenge.
The collaboration between The Church of Pentecost and TBL Kids Foundation reflects a shared commitment to the development of education in the community. Both organisations reaffirmed their dedication to furthering this cause.
The initiative seeks to ensure that every child has access to the resources and support they need to succeed academically. The church remains open to further collaborations that will advance educational standards in the community.
