The Obuasi Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a 3-day municipal joint service from September 18 to 20, 2019, under the theme, “The Name Of The Lord Is A Strong Tower” (Proverbs 18:10).

The mammoth service, which took place at the Bidieso Central auditorium, was organised under the auspices of the new Area Head, Apostle Williams Boakye Agyarko.

Speaking at the ceremony, Apostle Boakye Agyarko explained that the only name in heaven and on earth which is given for the salvation and redemption of men is the name of Jesus.

Drawing lessons from the book of Joshua, Apostle Agyarko explained that God commanded Joshua to build six cities of refuge. He expounded that these were six Levitical towns in the Kingdom of Israel and Judah in which perpetrators of accidental manslaughter could claim the right of asylum.

He noted that the name of Jesus has now replaced the six cities of refuge of which one can run to and be saved.

Reading from Psalm 91, the Obuasi Area Head reiterated that, “unlike the six cities of refuge which were the only places a person could find safety, the name Jesus is universal and delivers us from every snare of the fowler, wherever and whenever.”

He further expounded that the protection of the Lord is for those who remain at His feet and dwell under His shadow. “God’s ultimate desire is for His children to dwell continually in His presence. Therefore, He will go the extra mile to find and bring back anyone who has gone astray.” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
