The Kasoa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Ekow Badu Wood, has called on Christians to endeavour to build a good home in order to impact positively on the life of the church.

He noted that a good home has a ripple effect on the vibrancy of the church, saying, “When the home is good, the church will be automatically good.”

Apostle Ekow Badu Wood said this in a presentation on “The Church and the Christian Home” at the 22nd Head Office Management and Staff Retreat at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Monday, December 17, 2018.

He indicated that it is the home that supplies the church with members, money, spiritual ministry, among others, and that the fortunes of the church will be turned around if believers make their homes a good Christian home.

Reading from Luke 2:41-52, he pointed out that Mary the mother of Jesus made their Nazareth home a good Christian home by providing good meals for the boy Jesus, educating him, and providing all the necessary things for him to propel his holistic growth, hence the boy Jesus growing in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Apostle Wood, therefore, admonished Christians to create the enabling environment in their homes to make their children feel at home by giving them the needed education, balanced diets, making time with them to pray and to play with them.

He further urged Christian couples to build family altars, thus establishing a mini-church at home such that the family will make time out of their busy schedules to meet and pray at least twice a day and discuss the scriptures and other family issues in order to mould their spiritual and moral lives. This, he said, will establish the Lordship of Christ in the home.

“The Christian home is made up of people who are courteous and care for one another. Christian home is people-oriented. We build a Christian home with people,” he said.

Apostle Badu Wood also encouraged believers to marry from Christian homes since a good home is built by a good heart.

According to him, “marriage is meant to make us better Christians not worst Christians, because iron sharpens iron.” He entreated Christian couples to use their relationships to develop a Christlike character in their homes.
