A team of health professionals led by Elder Dr Obiri Yeboah of the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) organised an intensive training programme for newly-commissioned COVID-19 Taskforce groups in the Kwadaso Area.

The event took place on Saturday, 27th June 2020 at Kwadaso Central Assembly auditorium.

Ahead of the training workshop, the Area Head, Apostle J.B.K. Tawiah officially commissioned the various COVID-19 Taskforce groups for all the 17 districts in the area and outlined the mandate and importance of the groups. He, however, advised the group members to view their role as purely advisory and monitory.

Some of the topics that were treated during the training programme include: “The Meaning of COVID-19,” “Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19,” “Mode of Spreading of the Disease,” “Preventive Measures of the Disease,” “How to Handle Suspected People and Measures for Church Services.”

However, the major concern of the training was the issue of stigmatisation and how to avoid it.

The participants were finally admonished to duplicate the training in local assemblies in the various districts.
