Four couples in the Kwabenya Old Town District in the Haatso Area of The Church of Pentecost have had their marriages formalized and blessed to the glory of God.
The colourful ceremony, which took place at the Central Assembly on Saturday, April 29, 2023, was officiated by the District Minister, Pastor William Amponsah Asiamah. The programme was well-attended by the members and relations of the couples.
The couples are Alex Asamoah & Rebecca Ofori, Emmanuel Kofi Forson & Joyce Nyamekye, Daniel Oppong & Veronica Wiredu, and Solomon Sakyi & Gifty Amuzu.
Pastor William Amponsah Asiamah explained that the district sponsored the event to help members who had issues with their marriages to regularize them, and to ease the financial burden on the couples.
He was optimistic that more marriages in the district would be regularized in the future, given the success of the maiden event.
In a sermon, Rev. James Kobina Darko Otabil of Jabez Home Ministries, Kwabenya, spoke on the topic: “Let Us Build A Home Together,” based on 2 Kings 4:8-10.
He said that the Shunammite woman convinced her husband to build a well-furnished room in their home to host Prophet Elisha anytime he came around.
According to Rev. Otabil, if couples love themselves, and unite in heart and spirit, they will be able to build a solid Christian home to the admiration of all.
The couples expressed their gratitude to the church and God for the opportunity to formalize their unions.
Present at the ceremony was Mrs Georgina Amponsah Asiamah, wife of the District Minister, among others.
