The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has described Jesus Christ as God’s priceless gift to humanity, stressing that salvation, true freedom, peace, and eternal life are found in Him alone.
Speaking on the theme, “The Priceless Gift,” based on 2 Corinthians 9:15, during the climax of the Fire Conference 2026 held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani, Apostle Obuobi explained that the gift of Christ is beyond human description and cannot be compared with anything of earthly value.
Defining a gift as something given willingly without payment or conditions attached, the General Secretary noted that gifts are expressions of love and appreciation. However, he indicated that among all the gifts God has bestowed upon humanity, Jesus Christ stands alone as the greatest and most valuable.
“God is the giver of every good and perfect gift, yet His greatest gift to mankind is Jesus Christ,” he stated, adding, “This gift is priceless because it cannot be bought, sold, or exchanged for anything.”
According to Apostle Obuobi, the gift of Christ comes freely to all people, not through human effort or merit, but through faith. He explained that no one can earn salvation because it is God’s gracious provision for mankind.
He further described Jesus as God’s “indescribable” or “unspeakable” gift, explaining that the term signifies something too profound, overwhelming, and magnificent to be fully expressed in words.
“The gift of Jesus surpasses every human description,” he said. “Nothing can adequately capture His worth because there is nothing that can be given in exchange for Him.”
Highlighting why Jesus is God’s priceless gift, Apostle Obuobi pointed to the exclusive role of Christ in salvation.
“It is in Jesus Christ alone that we find salvation,” he emphasised, explaining that salvation is God’s deliverance from sin, its power, and its ultimate consequence, which is eternal death.
He added that Jesus alone possesses the authority to liberate humanity from the bondage of sin and death.
He further stressed that genuine freedom is found only in Christ, saying that those whom the Son sets free are free indeed.
Apostle Obuobi also described Jesus as the Prince of Peace, noting that through His sacrificial work, believers have been reconciled to God and have become co-heirs with Christ, enjoying the rich inheritance prepared for God’s children.
He concluded by encouraging participants to wholeheartedly receive and embrace God’s priceless gift by placing their faith in Jesus Christ, who alone offers abundant life, lasting peace, and eternal salvation.
The conference was organised by the Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the UENR Students’ Chaplaincy Council (SCC).
