The Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost in Takoradi Area, in partnership with Mckeown Assembly in the Effiakuma District, has organised its first event: “2024 Christ for All Missions Ghetto Outreach Fun Games and Health Screening,” for the residents of Effiakuma Zongo.
The event, held under the leadership of Pastor William Tettey Lartey, the Effiakuma District Minister, took place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Alata Park in Effiakuma.
During this outreach, 23 individuals accepted Christ, with 16 of them receiving water baptism conducted by Pastor Abrahams Harvoh, the Takoradi Area HUM Coordinator.
To promote the well-being of the participants, over 50 individuals received free health screenings, along with packs containing a well-balanced diet and soft drinks.
Under the supervision of Local HUM Executives, the community engaged in various games, including soccer, ludu, oware, and card games. The Ministry leaders took this opportunity to connect with community members, sharing the Gospel and leading many to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour through these fun activities.
Participants were deeply moved by the love shown by the Church and expressed their gratitude to the leadership. Many requested similar programmes in the future to strengthen the relationship between the Church and marginalised community members.
Elder Nathaniel Yamoah Arkhurst, the Presiding Elder of Mckeown Assembly, praised God for using the outreach to win souls for the Kingdom and for sharing the love of Christ with the Effiakuma Zongo Community.
Dignitaries present at the event included Hon. Hamza Mohammed Amin Adam (Assembly Member for Effiakuma Zongo Electoral Area), Mr. Francis Boah (also known as Apasco, former Assembly Member of Effiakuma Zongo Electoral Area), and Mr. Mfum, a respected opinion leader in the community, among other officers and members of the Mckeown Assembly.
