Garcoun District Inaugurated, Mission House Dedicated

The Sawla Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Amankwaa, inaugurated the Garcoun District of the Church and dedicated its newly-constructed mission house on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

The four-bedroom mission house was constructed by the Church’s Headquarters to house the Garcoun district minister.

The inaugural service also served as a welcome for the new district minister, P/Overseer Micaiah Edwin Cudjoe, and his family.

The Garcoun District was carved out from the Kalba District after receiving approval for its creation at the 43rd General Council Meetings of the church.

The sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of the mission house project took place on Saturday, March 4, 2023. It was performed by Apostle David Amankwaa with assistance from Pastor Ebenezer Awuku, the Kalba District Minister, and other Area Executive Committee members.

The mission house project, completed in a record time of five months, was solely funded by The Church of Pentecost Headquarters. The building also has a garage, and a study room.

Delivering the sermon on the topic, “Oh Lord of the Harvest, Send Out More Labourers into Your Field,” with scriptural references from Matthew 9:35-38, Apostle David Amankwaa noted that the ministry of Jesus Christ, the ultimate example, did not centre only in the cities but also extended to all villages.

Touching on the rationale for ministry in both cities and villages, Apostle Amankwaa highlighted five key areas to support his point. These areas include the necessity of conducting ministry in both cities and villages, the need for more labourers in the harvest, the mandate of the Great Commission, the heart for the Great Commission, the prayer dimension of the Great Commission, and the reward of the missionary in responding to the call.

Dedicating the edifice, Apostle Amankwaa expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman and the Executive Council for accepting the creation of the Garcoun District and providing funds to complete the mission house in record time.

The Area Head also presented a brand-new Apsonic Motor Tricycle purchased by the Headquarters and a Royal Motor Bike donated by the Suame District in the Suame Area to the district minister to aid in his evangelistic activities.

Apostle Amankwaa expressed his appreciation to Pastor Ebenezer Awuku for his dedication in supervising the construction of the mission house.

He also thanked the Area Estate Committee led by Overseer Philip Nana Addo and the Area Procurement Committee led by Overseer Jones Dwomoh Amankwah for their great effort in completing the mission house on time.

Present at the dedication service were the Ministers and Wives of the Sawla Area, Presbyters, members of the Garcoun District, and other well-wishers.
