A free medical screening exercise was organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost yesterday as part of activities for the four-day Easter outreach in the Kwahu Traditional Area of Ghana.
The event, which was held in partnership with the Pra River District of the Church, took place at Aweregya, a community within the district.
The medical team, led by Elder Dr. Ken Aboah, a member of the Evangelism Ministry National Executive Committee, provided free medical screening, free medical consultation and free drugs for the participants.
Prior to the exercise, Elder Dr. Aboah shared the gospel message of Christ with the patrons. He said that Jesus Christ is the most powerful healer and all those who receive Him benefit from His healing power.
He noted that, while on earth, Jesus was very active in His ministry of healing so He spent a lot of time healing those who were sick.
According to him, what makes Jesus’ healing power extraordinary is the fact that He is able to heal all kinds of diseases, including the ones that are beyond the scope of medical officers.
He urged the patrons to have faith in Jesus and trust that He will heal them of every infirmity, both physical and spiritual.
Elder Dr. Aboah also educated them on the importance of physical exercises, proper dieting and the benefits of fasting.
A total of 58 persons received medical care at the event despite the heavy rain downpour, five of whom responded to the call to accept Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour.
