The Ekroful District in the Agona Swedru Area of The Church of Pentecost organised a clean up exercise on March 15 and 16, 2024 as part of this year’s Environmental Care Campaign.

The Friday was earmarked for the local assemblies in the District to clean their environment. This was carried out successfully as many members gathered to clean up the church surroundings.

Some cleaned their auditorium and weeded around its. Others also weeded some part of the community.

The Saturday, which was the second day of the exercise, saw 100 members participating in the activity. Some were seen with their head-pans, shovels, rakes, brooms and other equipments.

The exercise started at 5:30 am at Aboso Market Junction and through to Akropong Durbar Grounds.

This inspired some of the community members who are non-members of the church to join the campaign.

Using a megaphone and mobile speakers, we educated the community members on the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene.

At the final assembly to close the activity, Pastor Edward Asamoah Antwi, the Ekroful District Minister, spoke against the excessive use of plastics such as polythene bags in society. He further advised that conscious efforts should be made to rid the community off plastic waste.
