The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has urged Christians to cultivate a continual attitude of thanksgiving and to always approach God with a heart of gratitude.

In his exhortation at the maiden Annual Thanksgiving Service of FeDems Group at the East Legon Worship Centre, Apostle Obuobi referenced Psalm 100:4-5, stressing that believers should approach God with a spirit of gratitude every time.

“The password to coming to the presence of God is ‘Thank You,'” he said, adding: “So always approach God with thanksgiving and praise and nothing else”

The General Secretary further stated that the Lord is pleased when His children come before Him with thanksgiving, drawing parallels to the biblical story of the lepers where only one returned with a heart of gratitude.

Alluding to the leper’s story, he explained that God expects them to offer gratitude to Him for His goodness and is pleased when they do that.

“Do not take God’s goodness for granted. We often complain and focus on challenges instead of being grateful,” Apostle Obuobi remarked.

He encouraged believers to reflect on the good things God has done, stressing that challenges are inevitable but thanksgiving transforms perspectives.

“Whether the challenge is big or small, take a minute to count your blessings, and you will realise that your blessings far outweigh your challenges,” he urged.

Apostle Obuobi said that God’s enduring goodness, love (mercies), and faithfulness throughout generations are reasons for them to be perpetually grateful to Him.
