Deacon Eric Anning and his wife Sophia of New Jerusalem Assembly in New Tafo District of The Church of Pentecost in Kumasi have been blessed with a baby boy after 11 years of their marriage.
Having got married in 2007, the couple went through 11 years of barrenness, coupled with a lot of unspeakable challenges they experienced.
They roamed from hospital to hospital, using both orthodox and herbal medications in order to find solution to their problem but to no avail. At a point in time, some people even advised for a divorce. However, they kept on trusting God for a miracle. Alongside the medications, they intensified their prayers as the church and friends also interceded for them.
In February 2018, a miracle took place where Sophia conceived to the admiration of all. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in December 2018.
The naming and dedication ceremony of the child, who was named after Pastor Eric Yaw Osei of Buokrom District, took place at the New Jerusalem Assembly on March 1, 2019. The service which was officiated by the New Tafo Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi, was attended by the New Tafo District Minister, Pastor Seth Dwamena Asante, and the New Tafo Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Resident Minister, Pastor Anthony Kwesi Mensah.
Other dignitaries were the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Bosomtwe, Hon. (Esq.) J. K. Assuming, and some chiefs of the Worakese Traditional Council.
Preaching the sermon at the service, Pastor Dwamena Asante advised parents to train their children in the fear of the Lord so that they will grow to become responsible citizens.
