Mr. Amponsah Marfo and his wife, Emelia, have donated a 31-seater Granbird bus and a 28-seater County bus worth GH¢ 400,000.00 and GH¢ 130,000.00, respectively to the Central Assembly of Sepe-Buokrom District of The Church of Pentecost.
The Granbird bus was presented last year. The County bus, on the other hand, was also handed over to the church this year at a brief presentation ceremony held recently at the forecourt of the Sepe-Buokrom Central church building.
Making the presentation, Mr. Amponsah Marfo and his wife, who worship at the Sepe-Buokrom Central Assembly and are known for their philanthropic acts, said that the donation was meant to aid the activities of the church such as embarking on outreach programmes, attending conventions, funerals, weddings, among others.
Receiving the documents and the key to the bus on behalf of the Church, the New Tafo Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi, expressed his unfeigned gratitude to the couple for the kind gesture. He prayed fervently for them and invoked God’s blessings upon their lives.
He also charged the beneficiary assembly to ensure that both buses were used for the intended purposes, whilst advising them to adopt good maintenance culture to keep the vehicles in good shape.
In a related development, the couple has also donated GH¢10,000.00 into the District Educational Scholarship Scheme, which aims at assisting brilliant but needy students in the church.
Present at the presentation ceremony were Mrs. Mary Antwi (wife of the Area Head), Apostle J. B. K Tawiah (Kwadaso Area Head), Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Apostle Osei Wusu Brempong (rtd), Pastor Frederick & Mrs Janet Sarfo (Sepe-Buokrom District Minister), Pastor George Prah Amonoo (New Tafo District Minister), Elder Samuel Kofi Manu (Presiding Elder, Sepe-Buokrom Central), and a cross section of officers and members.
