Kasoa Area Inaugurates Chieftaincy Ministry

The Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle James Kwabena Asare, has inaugurated the Chieftaincy Ministry to provide chaplaincy services to the chiefs, queens and royals in the church and the communities.

The ceremony took place recently at the Kasoa Central Assembly church auditorium.

Addressing the congregants, Apostle James Kwabena Asare said the chieftaincy institution, which is considered “the soul of the nation,” is a major cultural heritage of Ghanaians and plays a significant role in the social fabric of the nation.

He encouraged the Chiefs, queens and other royals to submit and rely solely on God and remember that they would be held accountable for their deeds on earth.

Referring to Psalm 78:70-72, Apostle Asare charged the congregants to serve their generation and God with integrity and skillfulness of hands.

“For her to prosper, Ghana needs leaders who would serve the nation and communities with integrity, patriotic spirit and selflessness,” he further stated.

The Kasoa Area Head encouraged the chiefs and the queens to help rebrand Kasoa by rooting-out any vices associated with the name and instead possess the town and its environs for Christ.

Concluding his message, Apostle Asare said that the Chieftaincy institution is highly esteemed in society, and this could be maintained when royals uphold Kingdom values and principles such as integrity, justice, and righteousness.

Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, the National Coordinator for the Chieftaincy Ministry, who doubles as the PEMEM Director and an Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, said that through the Chieftaincy Ministry, the Church is giving critical attention to the chieftaincy institution.

He reiterated that the ministry would provide chaplaincy services to the royals.

Apostle Anane Denteh inducted the Kasoa Area Chieftaincy Ministry Executive members by leading them to take the charge of office.

The members were as follows, Elder Nana Kwesi Mensah (Chairman), Elder Nana Osei Nkwantabisa (Vice Chairman), Elder Nana Ayafo Nyarko (Secretary). The other members are Elder Nii Adotei Akwei, Nana Asiamah, Elder Nana Duku and Pastor Charles Owusu Anning (Kasoa Area Chieftaincy Ministry Coordinator).

All ministers and wives in Kasoa Area were present at the inauguration. Among the dignitaries present was Hon. Desmond Paitoo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa East and an Elder of The Church of Pentecost.

Hon. Desmond Paitoo admonished the chiefs and queens to eschew the issue of the double sale of lands and also promote peace in their respective communities.

Other royals took turns to commend the Church for this noble initiative and encouraged their colleague royals to embrace this new vision, describing it as a “dream come true.”

The Chairman of the newly-inaugurated committee, Nana Kwesi Mensah, Guantuahene of Gomoa Buduburam, expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the Church for this great vision. He assured the Church that the committee would do well to discharge its outlined duties effectively.
