Praise The Lord At All Times – Chairman Advises Christians

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost (CoP), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called upon Christians to consciously celebrate the goodness of the Lord under all circumstances.

The Chairman said this today [December 12, 2023] during this year’s annual CoP Headquarters Management and Staff Retreat at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region of Ghana.

Speaking on the topic: “Praise the Lord At All Times,” with Psalm 34:1-2 as his foundational text, Apostle Eric Nyaemkye emphasised that while it may be easier to praise and extol the name of the Lord during favourable times, it becomes challenging during difficult moments.

Using the example of Job, he encouraged Christians to make a deliberate choice to bless the name of the Lord at all times, especially when faced with unfavourable circumstances.

“Praise is a choice. You can decide to praise or complain. So, when you wake up and hear bad news, you can still decide to let praise proceed from your mouth,” he remarked.

Apostle Nyamekye highlighted that praise is an expression of gratitude to the Almighty God for goodness and mercies, and it is important for believers to cultivate this attitude.

Drawing from the story of Leah in Genesis 29:31-35, he illustrated how she chose to complain about not being loved by her husband, but her situation remained unchanged until she decided to praise the Lord after the birth of her fourth son, whom she named Judah, meaning praise.

The Chairman underscored that praise is an acknowledgement that the Lord is God and that He is a good God., adding that the ability to praise God in times of predicament is a testament to one’s spiritual maturity.

He, therefore, urged Christians to focus on praiseworthy thoughts and ensure that only praiseworthy words proceed from their mouths.

This year’s Management and Staff retreat will feature new activities, including indoor games to foster camaraderie among staff and a carol service to express gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout the year. The event will close on Friday, December 15, 2023, with a retirement service for retiring staff.

PIWC West Hills Women’s Ministry’s “Care For The Elderly” Programme Benefits 150 web

PIWC West Hills Women’s Ministry’s “Care For The Elderly” Programme Benefits 150

A total of 150 elderly people have benefited from the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) West Hills Women’s Ministry’s “Care for the Elderly” programme.

The number, including widows and widowers from all districts of The Church of Pentecost (CoP) in the Kasoa Area, were freely screened and presented with items, including bags of rice, bottles of oil, drinks, and tomato paste, among others.

For the health screening, services offered included blood sugar tests, blood pressure tests, eye screening, as well as the provision of free medications for persons who needed them. Beneficiaries were also educated on general healthcare issues.

The Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Linda Mante, indicated that the “Care for the Elderly” programme was initiated three years ago under the leadership of the District Women’s Ministry and the leadership of PIWC West Hills.

She explained that the programme focuses on bringing joy to the elderly during the Christmas season.

“We aim to spread warmth and cheer by providing Christmas goodies to elderly individuals, ensuring they feel valued and cherished within our community. This year, we added free health screening to our package,” she added.

Deaconess Mante stressed the need for other churches, ministries, corporate bodies, and individuals to organize similar programmes to ensure the honouring and caring of the elderly.

“As Christians, Proverbs 23:22 reminds us: ‘Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.’ These programs offer crucial social interaction and emotional support, expressing care and gratitude while fostering unity and compassion within our broader society,” she added.

The Women’s Ministry Leader further underscored that her ministry, under the leadership and support of the Resident Minister, Pastor Philip Pascal Asiedu, was committed to continuing the ‘Care for the Elderly’ programme in the coming years.

“Our dedication to this initiative stems from our core values of compassion and community service, and we aim to sustain this meaningful tradition to continually uplift and support the elderly within our community,” she added.

Deaconess Mante used the opportunity to encourage all and sundry to get on board through sponsorships to enable them to expand their resources and provide more substantial assistance and care to a greater number of elderly individuals within their community.

Chairperson of the Planning Committee for the ‘Care for the Elderly’ programme, Cynthia Bonsah, noted that they included the health screening to give persons who couldn’t afford check-ups the opportunity to do so.

She was also hopeful that the Ministry would continue with the gesture to impact more lives.

Deaconess Salome Annoh, Lead, Health Team of the programme, said humans degenerate as they grow old, so they needed screening to be able to find out if something was wrong.

“So that’s for intervention if we find something wrong, then we try to solve it as early as possible to prevent complications,” she added.

Ato Richardson, a beneficiary of the programme from the Mandela Assembly of the Church, said he was extremely happy to be there and thanked the Ministry for the gesture, urging the leadership to continue in the years to come.

A widow, Vida Mensah, from Ebenezer 1 Assembly in the Kakraba District of the Church, blessed the ministry and similarly encouraged them to continue organizing the programme.

Wawabile Assembly Church Building Dedicated web

Wawabile Assembly Church Building Dedicated

The newly-constructed church building of the Wawabile Assembly in the Bole District of The Church of Pentecost has been dedicated.

The building was dedicated on Friday, December 8, 2023, by the Sawla Area Head, Pastor Frederick Obboh.

The Wawabile Assembly, formerly known as Lamporga No. 1, was one of the assemblies which was opened at the time when the present Sawla Area had not yet been carved from the Wa Area.

The assembly, which started with few members, has now grown into a big church.

The members of the assembly, during its early years, worshipped under a tree and later moved into a temporal structure until 2021 when the then Area Head for Sawla, Apostle William Ohemeng-Kwakye, cut the sod for a permanent church building to be put up for the assembly. This was during the tenure of Pastor Kwaku Amponsah and Elder Emmanuel Yitah, as District Minister  and Presiding Elder, respectively.

Apostle William Ohemeng-Kwakye laid the foundation stone for the building on Friday, July 9, 2021, when the building reached a habitable stage.

This great foundation was built upon by the immediate-past Area Head, Apostle David Amankwaa, whose hard work saw the building project progress near completion.

Through the instrumentality of Pastor Frederick Obboh, the current Area Head, the building which is situated on a five-acre land, has been completed successfully to the glory of God.

Delivering the sermon at the dedication service on the topic: “Keep the Fire Burning,” the Sawla Area Secretary, Pastor Benjamin Addo-Boateng, with scripture references from Leviticus 6:13, touched on the need to have the presence of God among the people.

He noted that the church building serves as the symbol of the presence and a place of worship for the Almighty.

Pastor Addo-Boateng emphasised that the presence of God is influenced by the fire, who is the Holy Spirit.

He, therefore, charged members to make the church building a house of God where prayer and worship will be offered unto the Lord daily.

“The Lord admonished the Levites to keep the fire burning on the altar daily to ensure the continuous presence of the Lord which will take away sin and bring redemption to the lost and the captive,” he said.

In a brief remark, emphasised that leaders must ensure that the house of the Lord is made a safe haven where distress people can find solace in the Lord.

This, he noted, could be achieved, only when there is constant prayer in the church, proclamation of life-transforming unadulterated word of God, effective church services, and intentional discipling of converts to ground them in the faith, and unleashed to transform their sphere of influence with values, life-style, and principles of the kingdom of God.

The Area Head admonished ministers to be filled with the Holy Spirit, for the priest in the New Testament is a carrier of God’s glory, adding that, glory must be edified to bring out spontaneous worship and sacrifices among the members who are the beholders of the glory of God which now resides in the priest.

Dedicating the church building, which has an attached children’s auditorium, Pastor Obboh expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of the Church for providing the funds for the project

He alao thanked his predecessors, Apostles; William Ohemeng-Kwakye, and David Amankwaa for their hard work and judicious use of resources.

On his part, the Bole-Customs District Minister, P/Overseer Samuel Obeng, thanked all past district ministers and all others who contributed in diverse ways towards the successful completion of the project

Present at the dedication service were Mrs. Joana Mina Obboh (Wife of the Area Head), ministers in the Area and the Area Deacon, Elder Pourimah.

Sakpa Central Assembly Church Building Dedicated

The Sawla Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Frederick Obboh, has dedicated the newly constructed church building of the Sakpa Central Assembly.

The colourful dedication service was held on Friday, December 8, 2023, and had in attendance Mrs. Joana Mina Obboh (Wife of the Area Head), as well as ministers and wives in the Area.

The Sakpa Assembly started in 1985, then under the Sawla District with a couple who were won during a rally held at Lamporga led by Elder Joseph Daare (retired).

Two couples joined the first couple later and they started worshipping under a tree.

The members continued to worship under a tree close to the Sakpa RC Basic School and later moved into one of the classrooms.

The assembly, under the leadership of Elder Emmanuel Yitah, raised funds, bought five plots of land, and started molding blocks to put up a permanent church building themselves.

The tenacity and zeal of the members caught the attention of the then Bole District Minister, Pastor Yakwah, who made an appeal to the then Area Head, Apostle Moses Ahiakor, on behalf of the local assembly, for support. The Area Head then gave the assembly a grant to support the project.

When the Sakpa District was created under the leadership of Apostle David Amankwaa and inaugurated on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, the assembly was designated as the central assembly of the new district.

The district then received a grant from the Church’s Headquarters during the time of Pastor Kwaku Amponsah to continue the building project to plastering level.

The foundation stone to the building was laid by Apostle David Amankwaa on July 21, 2023, with assistance from Pastor Kwaku Amponsah.

Pastor Frederick Obboh, on assuming office as the Area Head, pursued the vision and completed the church building, which has a children’s auditorium attached.

The Sakpa Central Assembly currently has a total membership of 338, comprising 207 adults and 131 children.

Three pioneering members; Mr. John Martin and Mrs. Esther John (now a deaconess), and Mrs. Martha Lenebey, are still alive and were present to witness the historic event.

Pastor Samuel Awuah, the Sawla District Minister and an Area Executive Committee Member, gave a short exhortation during the event on the topic: “Prayer Opens Doors.”

Using 1 Samuel 1:1-10 as scripture reference, Pastor Samuel Awuah noted that Hannah prayed at the temple, and the fervent prayer was answered by God.

He, therefore, urged members to make the house of God the house of prayer where their supplication will be laid bare before the Almighty.

Pastor Awuah noted that Hannah had been going to Shiloh yearly to be prayed for but that year she decided to pray for herself and seek the face of God.

He urged the members to learn from Hannah and believe that when they pray in the church, their prayers will be answered.

Pastor Awuah  advised to desist from seeking spiritual help from ungodly sources but rather engage the Lord in prayer.

Dedicating the building, Pastor Frederick Obboh read from 1 Chronicles 7 and advised members to ensure that the church, which is the house of the Lord, is kept holy and neat for the Lord is Holy.

He emphasised that Solomon understood this concept and therefore took pains to furnish the temple he built with gold artifacts to the glory of God.

“In our days, the members, which is the body of Christ, is the temple, our lives, therefore, must reflect His glory in our daily endeavors,” he said.

Pastor Obboh noted this can be achieved when leaders and members alike make the house of God their dwelling and ensure the constant presence of God in the house through prayer and life-transforming church services.

The Area Head charged ministers and members to keep the house of God clean through effective maintenance and proper care and also by greening the environment to preserve nature and beautify the environment.

He thanked the leadership of the Church for the financial support towards the project, his predecessors for their commitment, and the entire membership for their hard work and dedication towards the project.

On his part, P/Overseer Solomon Dzitse, the District Minister for Sakpa, thanked his predecessor, Pastor Kwaku Amponsah, the Area Estate Committee, and leaders and members of the district for their support.

Tema Greenwich Meridian District Retires Three Gallant Officers

The Tema Greenwich Meridian District of The Church of Pentecost has organised a retirement service to honour three distinguished officers who have served the church for many years.

The event took place at the Safo Memorial Temple in Tema on November 26, 2023.

The three retired officers were Elders Richard Oppong, Akwasi Boaten-Sekyerehene, and John Kwame Ansah, who had served for 31, 31, and 26 years, respectively. They all served as district executive committee members and were reviewed this year.

Apostle Emmanuel Offei Ankra-Badu, the Area Head for Tema, presided over the retirement service and delivered a sermon on the theme, “Responding to Divine Call.”

He explained the divine call of a leader, the criteria necessary to align oneself with God’s call, and the five-stage approach to responding to it – having a revelation of God, realising the value of Christ’s holiness, recognition of one’s sinfulness, renewal of one’s mind on Christ’s perspective and the response of their lifestyle.

Apostle Ankrah-Badu commended the retired officers for their sacrifices and prayed to God to grant them a long life.

The District Minister, Pastor Dr Suleman De-Graft Issaka, congratulated Safo Memorial Temple and Community 2 assemblies for organising the retirement service. He also congratulated the retirees and thanked them for their service to God and humanity.

Mamprobi District Wins Maiden Dansoman Area Women's Ministry Music Contest web

Mamprobi District Wins Maiden Dansoman Area Women’s Ministry Music Contest

It was all joy and excitement as the choral group of the Mamprobi District of The Church of Pentecost was adjudged overall winners of the maiden Dansoman Area Women’s Ministry music contest.

The event was climaxed the ministry’s annual end-of-year thanksgiving service dubbed “Aseda Kese” Area Joint Service held at the Mamprobi Central Assembly auditorium on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

It was a beautiful sight to behold as girls and women, (young and ood alike) from the 15 districts turned up in their numbers to observe the much anticipated competition.

The music contest, which took centre stage on the night, saw all the participating districts cladded in Women’s Ministry paraphernalia with different designs and outfits. All the contesting choirs had one paraphernalia or the other in their outfits to show forth their readiness to battle it out for the ultimate.

The contest began with the New Mamprobi Choir, arrayed in their Women’s Ministry branded lacostes ad black skirts to match. They sang, “What Can I Offer to You O’ Lord” composed by Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah (Rtd.) as their opening song and descended the stage with the “Mo Mmo Ose Mma Ne Din” one the songs on the 2018 Theme Songs compilation of the church.

Next to minister was the Women’s Ministry choir from Gbegbeyise District who sang a number of the Women’s Ministry collection of songs which included, “Mmaa Yesom, Yesom Ama Awurade,” “Ye Me Deborah,” among others.

Laterbiokoshie District mounted the stage to unwrap what they had been preparing to offer in the contest. Their opening song signalled victory in their quest for supremacy on the night, ministering “Yesu Ye Me Nkunim Frankaa Yi,” one of the classics from the 2019 Theme Song collection of The Church of Pentecost. They ended their ministration with, “Mede Nwerapa” another song of encouragement from the Women’s Ministry collection of songs.

James McKeown Worship Centre ascended the stage with the popular “Yedawase Yeyi W’aye” song and placed the icing on the cake with a song from the stables of one of Ghana’s renowned gospel musicians, Cindy Thompson’s “Dromo.”

A faith-quickening testimony from Deaconess Janet on God’s provision of the fruit of the womb after several years of childlessness also followed.

Later on, Russia Worship Centre also ascended the stage with the “Mo Yesu Mo” song and went into full force with a Twi Chrsitmas Melody, “Yede Anigye Mawo Afehyiapa” and capped of their ministration with the “Okaa Na W’aye” song.

Mamprobi District did not let down their guns either as they glamourously ascended the stage with one of the Women’s Ministry songs titled, “Adom Bi Asiesie Me” and rounded it up with “Ohempong Kristo No,” another of Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah’s songs.

Glefe District ascended the stage in similar fashion with the ‘Mmaa Moada Anaa’ song and exited the stage with ‘Ebenezer New Nyame De Yen Abeduru Nie’.

Dr. Priscilla Sey, thrilled the house with another of Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah’s songs titled, “Maba Wo Nnwunu Ase” composed in 2012.

Praise Acchord from PIWC Dansoman also took turns to lead the house in some worshipful tunes comprising, “Ebenezer,” “Kronkron Ne Wo Awurade” and “Menso Mene Hwan?”

Sakaman District ascended on stage with another of Apostle Professor Poku Onyinah’s songs titled, “Y’edawase a Efata Wo,” which they also ministered as their main song.

Sahara District though small in their numbers got the house grooving to their cocktail rendition of the ‘Aseda Ben’ by the evergreen Daughters of Glorious Jesus interspersed with Harmonious Chorale’s “Nea Wode Me Abeduru Ni.”

Bethel District, also didn’t fail to unplug one of Apostle Professor Poku Onyinah’s,  “Zion’s Strong Tower” and capped it off with a song titled, “Joy Like A River.”

Dansoman District latched onto “Mo” by Piesie Esther followed by Harmonious Chorale’s “Nea Wode M’abeduru Nie”  and exited the stage with “Oseyie” by SP Kofi Sarpong.

Mpoasei District pulled out one of the 2023 theme songs classic titled, “Gyina” by Rose Ahenkora.

Chemunaa District, however, stole the night with their hand-held battery powered torches with which they ministered their song to drive home a main thought of Jesus as the light of the world. Their choice of music genre was quite different from the others as they all sang in unism and danced energetically in accordance to the typical Ga-speaking coastal lifestyle. Rounding it off with “Jerusalem,” their ministration received the deserving cheers and applause from the audience.

Twereboa District also ministered another of the renowned Ghanaian Police Officer and musician, SP Kofi Sarpong titled, “Mekamfo No.”

A well-crafted poetry recital by Deaconess Eunice Awuah was enough to switch the euphoria for a brief exhortation by Mrs. Rebecca Sey, wife of the Area Head, Apostle Daniel Sey, who was also in attendance.

She spoke on the topic: “The Lord Will Bless You Anyhow,” inspired from 2 Corinthians 9:8.

The judges then took to the podium to deliver the results from accumulated scores after Apostle Daniel Sey led the house in prayer after the exhortation.

The judges gave the five areas of assessment as follows; Vocal Quality, Stage Craft, Creativity in song, Costume and Number of supporting members from the respective districts.

Based on this, New Mamprobi District was adjudged the Best Dressed choir while Gbegeyise District took the award for the District with the highest supporting members.

Gbegbeyise District won another award, coming 4th just behind Chemunaa who took 3rd place.

New Mamprobi District again got themselves in 2nd place with Mamprobi District winning the ultimate.

In attendance were the immediate-past Area Head,  Prophet Ebenezer Appiah, and his wife, Mrs. Janet Appiah, as well as a cross section of the pastorate and their wives.

Also in attendance were past and present Area Women’s Ministry Executive Committee members, District leaders and members from the various districts.

2023 National Youth Quiz Ends With Wa, Agormanya, Goaso & Ho Areas Claiming The Ultimate web

2023 National Youth Quiz Ends With Wa, Agormanya, Goaso & Ho Areas Claiming The Ultimate

In a nerve-racking, five-hour series of contests at the PIWC-Asokwa auditorium, 16 Areas, seeded into three contesting groups, had their last dance in determining who comes on top in the various contests with their accompanying categories.

The Junior Category of the Bible Bee Contest saw Goaso, Agormanya, Achimota and Kwadaso areas, unleashing the verses of scriptures they had committed to memory.

The 1st and 2nd Semi-Final encounters saw Goaso and Kwadaso Areas, sailing through to the Grand Finale with Agormanya gaining a late ticket after the winning the playoff over Achimota.

Surprisingly, an overwhelming display of courage and determination saw the defending champions amass 144.25 points in the 3rd round known as the ‘home stretch’ to set the win it and become the 1st Area to win and successfully defend their trophy in the Junior Category-Bible Bee Contest.

Kwadaso and Goaso areas followed suit in 2nd and 3rd place with 302 points and 289.85 points respectively.

The Senior Category of the Bible Bee Contest on the other hand saw Ho Area gliding past Kwadaso and Tarkwa in the Grand Finale to lift the trophy.

The Ho Area led by Andrews Helegbe couldn’t make it to the Grand Finale of the 2022 edition held last year. Unperturbed by the defeat, he prepared-in-wait and kept knocking at the door of opportunity sailed through this time round, accumulating 421.5 points to lift the trophy.

Tarkwa Area emerged 1st runner-up earning 399 points while Kwadaso Area finished 3rd with 380.25 points.

The Junior Category of the Questions and Answers Contest on the other hand saw Goaso Area etching their names in the quiz hall of fame for the first time after seeing off Dansoman and Suame Areas with a whooping 35.5 points, maintaining a 12.5 point-gap advantage over Dansoman Area who bounced back from an initial defeat and play-off amassing 23 points.

Suame Area saw the tide turned against them as they came behind Dansoman Area with 21.5 points, whom they defeated in the Semis.

The last contest that saw a charged euphoria and effervescent cheers and applause, was the Senior Category – Questions and Answers Contest with Wa, Kaneshie and Bompata Areas battling for glory. Kaneshie and Bompata Areas entered the contest as favourites to win the ultimate with Wa Area coming through the back door as underdogs.

Nevertheless, they left no stone unturned, capitalising upon every bonus question that went abegging. In all three rounds, before the Problem of the Day Round, Wa laid behind Kaneshie in 2nd place with 37 points, only a 1.5 gap separating them.

It was soon to be discovered that the Problem of the Day was going to be the decider of the fates of these three contesting.

The outcome of the Problem of the Day Round saw Wa Area overtaking Kaneshie Area in 1st place with 41.5 points. Kaneshie who could only earn a point from the last round couldn’t help but fall to 2nd place with Bompata Area coming third.

That was indeed a record-making feat achieved in the history of the quiz. The first ever northern side to lift a trophy in the history of the National Youth Quiz Competition since its inception.

Ensure That The Home Cell Concept Works – Apostle Gakpetor To Church Leaders

Apostle Samuel Kojo Gakpetor, the Coordinator for the National Discipleship and Leadership Development Committee (NDLDC) of The Church of Pentecost, has challenged, Church leaders, particularly ministers and their wives, to ensure the success of the Home Cell concept in their respective stations in line with the new directive of leadership.

The new strategic vision of the Church, dubbed Vision 2028, directs that Home Cell meetings are now to be held on the Mondays of the Communion (Lord’s Supper) Week in the ensuing years.

Apostle Samuel Gakpetor, who is also the Agormanya Area Head, said this on the first day of the two-day 2023 Pre-Christmas Convention Residential Retreat held for the Agormanya Area pastorate and wives from Thursday, December 7, to Friday, December 8, 2023.

In his presentation, Apostle Gakpetor revealed that the new directives on the change of Home cell meeting days to Mondays of the Communion Week have taken into consideration various concerns from grassroots regarding factors relevant for the effectiveness of the Cell concept.

He observed that challenges raised over the years bordered on the lack of involvement of officers and challenges related to the time of the meeting.

Concerning the current arrangement under Vision 2028, the NDLDC Coordinator commented that the use of Lord’s Supper Monday is very good because “the day is uncontested.”

To ensure the workability of the new arrangement, he hinted officers are to be assigned to various Cells to mobilise the members for effective Communion Week prayers.

He hinted that, when well organised, it will enhance the participation of members and officers in the Communion week as well as close the “back door” of the local church.

To roll out the new arrangement, he suggested that: “Ministers should review the current state of the Home Cell in their local assemblies with the presiding elders to ascertain the challenges and what needs to be done; train and reorient officers on the Home Cell concept; assign officers to the Home cells to man them; zone Home Cell and appoint zonal coordinators to ensure supervision and monitoring and to become a model themselves.”

He added that the zonal coordinators for the zoned cells will also provide mentoring and pastoral responsibilities for the Home Cell leaders under them.

The Pre-Christmas Residential Retreat was scheduled to prepare and equip the ministers and wives in the Area for the coming Christmas Convention.

Apostle Samuel Gakpetor used the opportunity to share with the ministers the new trajectories through Vision 2028.

The meeting was attended by almost all the pastors and wives across the 24 districts in the Agormanya Area.

THE FOUR POWER WORKINGS OF JESUS web

The Four Power Workings Of Jesus: Reflections From The “Tema-Ashaiman For Christ” Crusade

While watching the live telecast of the recently held “Tema-Ashaiman for Christ” crusade on Pent TV, as many people stepped forward to receive the workings of the Lord Jesus Christ in diverse needs, the Holy Spirit gave me an intuition into these workings as Elder Seth Yaw Peasah led them during the divine healings and prayer sessions.

These are what the Lord laid on my heart as Elder Peasah spoke about virtues that went out from the Lord Jesus unto his audience and those who approached him (Jesus) for diverse miracles. The workings are thus termed because the Lord Jesus said in John 5:17 that, “The Father is always at work to this very day, and I too am working.” Broadly speaking, we have two kinds of this work – the teaching and power ministrations of Jesus – Acts 1:1b.

I wish to dwell on the power workings of Christ for the sake of this presentation. These workings can be referred to as the different approaches the Lord Jesus administers healings, exorcisms, etc. to his followers in the confirmation of the written or spoken Word of God. I wish to also emphasise that what I am about to share with us may not be the only definite ways Christ channels out his workings. There may be other forms, for we know that our God works in mysterious ways. Meanwhile, the four types of power workings of Christ are discussed as follows;

SILENT WORKINGS

This is an unannounced encounter and breakthrough that takes place in the life of a person that the Lord touches during prayers or declarations. Silent workings play a vital role during prayer encounters. Here, many of the congregants at any gathering in Jesus’ name may receive this touch of God in the Spirit. This also means that God is always working behind the scenes for the well-being of all who call on him and come to him.

The Word of God is Spirit (John 6:63); it works in the spirit realms first before manifesting in the physical realm. When the Lord works in the heart of the individual, the process is usually silent, but the outcome becomes dumbfounding – Matthew 15:28. Sometimes it is worrying to hear some congregants say at prayer meetings, “The man of God did not touch us,” and others also usually say, “We did not feel anything.” Beloved, be encouraged that the Spirit and the Word of God are at work in you, and silently the fruits will be evident in you too.

Just as a garden plant sprouts, grows, and branches out to maturity, and no one sees how this growth happens, exactly so is how our Lord does silently heal us when we approach him for mercy. I speak under the unction of the Spirit of God, that may God silently touch you and make you whole, in Jesus’ name!

SWIFT WORKINGS

This is a quick move of the power of God over the life of the individual waiting for a miracle or a change of whatever circumstance that might be taking place in his/her life. It happens so fast, especially for new believers and people with great faith – Luke 7:2-10, Mark 10:52.

In certain dire situations and especially on the brink of death circumstances, it may need the swift intervention of God for a touch of salvage, quick restoration, and such a speedy grant of grace from above. In Mark 1:30-31, some of the disciples of Jesus had to immediately inform him of the fever of Simon’s mother-in-law who was down on bed. Jesus immediately went to her, took her by the hand, and she was made whole. Praise the Lord!

Newborn babes in the faith usually receive this kind of grace from the Lord. The reason is for them to grow in their newfound faith with the Lord – Psalm 8:2. For instance, when a sister is in Church for a few months or years and she gets the open door for her marriage, etc., do not envy her but praise God for the fulfillment of the Word of the Lord.

On the other hand, a believer with great faith can also receive this kind of workings from the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus usually says, “Your faith has made you whole… Mark 10:52, Luke 8:48, 17:19, etc. With faith and especially the great kind of faith, anything is immediately possible! May the Church of God raise young believers to become possessors of this great faith, O Lord increase our faith!

STRONG WORKINGS

This is an active strong power that comes out from the Lord Jesus to effect healings in some sort of chronic situations in individuals hoping for encounters – Mark 5:30.

The Lord God is described in Psalm 24:8 as, “Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.” It is stronger circumstances that require a stronger God to deal with them. We must be certain in our minds that there is nothing impossible to the Lord. It must be noted herein that the kind of virtue that went out from the Lord Jesus to heal the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years was a strong working power – Mark 5:30.

Beloved, it is the same kind of power from the Spirit of God that Jesus calmed the raging sea (Mark 4:37-41). No amount of strong force of disturbance, sickness, instability, chaos, and torment can ever stand before the Living Jesus who has all power strongly vested in His Name – Luke 10:17.

Luke 8:27-33 reveals a stronghold of lunatism called legion that was dwelling in one man. O what a state of destruction this man would be?! That very day, Jesus met him on the shores of Gerasenes and cast out all the 6000 demons from this man, glory be to Jesus! Usually, this kind of exorcism of demons will be fierce and such a sight to behold – the clash of two powers between God and the kingdom of darkness bringing deliverance to the soul of this demon-possessed man. Hallelujah!

SPECTACULAR WORKINGS

Usually what seems impossible to every normal human being and it turns out to be possible will bring an awe before the sight of men. For instance, when the blind suddenly sees, the lame walks, the dead brought back to life, the leper is cleansed, the hunchback is healed, etc. Above all, when the sinner repents and receives Jesus as Lord and Saviour – Matthew 11:5.

In the District Minister’s Report Format of The Church of Pentecost, there is a section called Spectacular Events, which records events of rare healings and awesome miracles. Some of such will be, for instance, a barren woman gives birth after 38 years of marriage, a man born blind sees after 30 years, a dead person comes back to life after 3 days, and the list goes on. When you have such great faith in the Lord and have persisted in waiting for the spectacular sign and wonder from the Lord Jesus, anything becomes possible!

Jesus told Nathaniel the disciple in John 1:50-51 that, “…you will see greater things than that… and the angels of God descending and ascending on the Son of Man.” I would want to call such an incident a spectacular event. After the outpouring of the Blessed Holy Spirit on the Disciples, the Apostles of the Lord Jesus did mighty signs and wonders through the Name of Jesus. Peter, for instance, did some extraordinary signs and wonders through the Name of the Lord, as recorded in Act 5:15, “As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.”

If a believer waits and gazes on the Lord with unwavering faith, mighty things that are uncommon to discuss in everyday matters will definitely take place. Imagine a hunchback suddenly disappearing from a person during prayers. Can you imagine how the reactions of a Church Congregant would be when almost immediately in prayers, a man with one amputated leg receives this leg back? The whole Church may lie face down to worship the Lord who does such spectacular miracles. O God, let these happen also in our days!

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, every believer in Christ must catch this revelation so that it wouldn’t matter the bigness of the problem we bring to the feet of Christ in prayer; we only need to lift up our faith to him. As to how or when the Miracle Worker Jesus will do it will rest on him; whether silently, swiftly, strongly, or spectacularly. May the Lord Jesus Christ touch you even now in these four dimensions. Amen.

Bawku Area Records 2,332 Souls During Aggressive Evangelism Month

The Bawku Area of The Church of Pentecost achieved a significant milestone by recording 2,332 souls during the recently observed Aggressive Evangelism Month last November.

The initiative, dubbed the ‘One Member; One Discipled Soul (1M1DS) project,’ aimed at encouraging members to engage in aggressive evangelism exercises to lead many into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The project was officially launched by the Area head, Pastor Eric Gyacham, on October 24, 2023, at the Area level. District ministers and presiding leaders were also tasked to replicate the same at their respective districts and local assemblies.

During the launch, the Area Head outlined various strategies for the exercise and encouraged ministers and leaders to teach and encourage all their members to be involved.

Particular emphasis was placed on house-to-house and personal evangelism. Smaller groups within the assemblies were created and tasked to carry out this form of evangelism.

Members were also encouraged to intentionally identify and build friendships with unbelievers and ultimately lead them to Christ.

Proper records were kept for weekly monitoring and evaluations. Individuals who performed well were identified and appreciated to serve as motivation to others.

Additionally, prayers were raised across all locals for this exercise weekly.

The success of the 1M1DS project in the Bawku Area underscores the dedication and commitment of the church community to fulfilling its vision of winning souls for God.

Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of the harvest, for granting the Church this massive yield.

According to the leadership of the Area, pragmatic efforts are underway to disciple the converts into full membership.
