Prophet Aniakwaa Receives Rousing Retirement Send-Off

It was a celebration of the faithfulness and goodness of God as Prophet Foster Kwasi Aniakwaa, Nkawkaw Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, and his wife, Mama Grace, retired from active ministry after diligently serving for 33 years.

The glorious service, officiated by the Missions Director of the church, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, was held at the Nkawkaw Barrier Assembly auditorium. It was attended by people from all walks of life, including clergy from The Church of Pentecost and other denominations, traditional leaders, government officials, and loved ones. Notably present was the immediate past Chairman of the church, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah.

Sermon

Delivering the sermon on the theme, ‘The Prophets,’ based on 1 Peter 1:10, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe revealed that the ultimate outcome of believers’ faith in Christ is the salvation of souls, stating, ‘The primary concern of every prophet is the salvation of souls.’

He outlined six cardinal features of the prophetic ministry, noting that prophets speak grace. He explained that grace is goodwill and prayed that believers would receive this grace and goodwill to excel in their service to God.

The Missions Director further stated that every prophet should be able to search intently and with great care, point people to the sufferings of Christ, and predict the glories that follow. He added that prophets must have the revelation that they are not serving themselves, but God and His church, and must speak on behalf of God, not themselves. He concluded by saying that prophets speak of peace—peace that even angels long to understand.

Apostle Agyemang Bekoe prayed that the prophetic mantle upon Prophet Aniakwaa, which enabled him to discharge his ministry excellently, would fall upon the congregation.

Testimonies

In their testimony, the General Council described Prophet Aniakwaa as a man of God’s word, prayer, and faith—dutiful and dedicated to the ministry, serving God’s will and purpose with joy.

‘One exceptional thing about him is his sharp prophetic ministry, which has transformed and directed many to their God-ordained paths,’ they said, adding, ‘He is a zealous intercessor, counsellor, and soul-winner. He has spearheaded individual evangelism drives, as well as local, district, and area rallies and crusades, resulting in countless souls being won into the Kingdom of the Lord.’

The pastorate in the Nkawkaw Area testified that Prophet Aniakwaa’s prophetic and teaching ministry has guided countless believers to salvation, healing, and purpose.

Mrs Grace Aniakwaa was praised by the Women’s Ministry for embodying and exemplifying the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. According to the ministry, Mama Grace is industrious, hospitable, wise, and generous. Her motherly care, words of encouragement, and compassionate heart have inspired many women, young ministers’ wives, and the church as a whole..

Former Chairman Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah and the Chief of Ejura, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, both eulogised Prophet Aniakwaa and his wife for their impactful ministry.

Apostle Daniel Owusu-Akyaw Retires After 27 Years of Fruitful Ministry

The Konongo-Extension Central Auditorium of The Church of Pentecost was filled with songs of praise, heartfelt tributes, and waves of applause on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as the church gathered to celebrate the remarkable ministry of Apostle Daniel Owusu-Akyaw and his wife, Dora.

The couple, described by many as humble and approachable, gracefully drew the curtain down on 27 years of selfless service to God and The Church of Pentecost.

From the mission fields of Cameroon and Zambia to pastoral assignments in Ghana, their ministry journey was marked by faithfulness, discipline, and a deep love for people.

It was therefore no surprise that ministers, officers, members, and loved ones thronged the auditorium to honour them in a colourful retirement service officiated by Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng (Executive Council Member, Ashanti RCC Coordinator and Kwadaso Area Head), with support from Apostle James Oko Barnor (Ejisu Area Head), Apostle Samuel Kwabena Asare (Mampong Area Head), and Apostle Agyin Brefo (Aflao Area Head).

Delivering the sermon on the theme, ‘The Prayer, The Reflections and Conclusions of King David When Old Age Was Approaching’ (Psalm 71:9-10, 18; Psalm 37:25), Apostle Adjei-Kwarteng reminded believers that old age should not be seen as a season of neglect but rather as a stage where God’s presence remains constant.

‘In your weak days, God will never leave you,’ he assured, urging Christians to serve God faithfully in their youth and train children in the faith from an early age.

Ministry Journey

Apostle Owusu-Akyaw’s ministry journey began in 1998 at Jema District and spanned several stations: Cameroon as National Head (2004–2011), New Tafo District (2011–2015), Zambia as National Head (2015–2020), and finally Konongo as Area Head (2020–2025).

Over the years, he also served as a member of the Missions Board (2012–2015), RCC Coordinator for the South African Development Community (SADC) Bloc (2018–2020) and has been part of the National Ministerial Committee since 2021, contributing significantly to the growth and governance of the church.

Early Life and Education

Born on January 29, 1960, in Koforidua, Apostle Owusu-Akyaw began his education at Presbyterian “B” Primary School, Koforidua, later completing Middle School in 1975. He pursued secondary education at Pope John’s Secondary School, and further trained at the Presbyterian Teacher Training College, Akropong, where he obtained his Teacher’s Certificate “A” in 1984.

After teaching for seven years, he furthered his studies at the University of Education, Winneba (1991–1994) for a Diploma in English Education. He later received theological training at the Pentecost Bible School (1998) and leadership training at the Haggai Institute, Singapore (1999).

Tributes

Tributes poured in to celebrate the retiring couple. The Konongo Pastorate described Apostle Owusu-Akyaw as ‘an astute, disciplined, and approachable minister, calm yet resolute, humble and respectful, with a great sense of humour that makes him very affable.’

The General Council also commended him as ‘a great resource to the church, who has availed himself to be used by God in various key positions, contributing immensely to the building of the church’s structures and missions work.’

Apostle John Obeng & Mrs. Eunice Kesse Retire After 39 Years Of Meritorious Service

Far from showing signs of fatigue or old age, Apostle John Obeng Kesse, appeared full of energy and life during the retirement service held for him and his wife, Mrs. Eunice Owiredua Kesse, today to mark the end of their meritorious service in the full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost for the last 39 years.

Clad in white with fist bumps in the air and laughing heartily, he joined the congregation in jubilant dancing – jumping from one end to the other singing one of his favourite gospel songs “Kadosh! Kadosh!” Members of the church in the Suame Area, with whom he had spent the final five years of his active ministerial life, flanked him in ecstatic praise, waving the flags of The Church of Pentecost in colourful euphoric display. The atmosphere was electrifying—simply breathtaking and a beautiful scene to behold.

The celebration was not only a reflection of the vibrant Suame Area he was leaving behind but also a testament to his decades of fruitful service in full-time ministry.

The colourful event, held at the Tetelestai Worship Centre in Suame, Kumasi, truly honoured the outgone Suame Area Head and his wife for their lifelong dedication to The Church of Pentecost and the body of Christ.

The General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, chaired the historic event with support from area heads in the Ashanti Region.  During the service, he delivered an inspiring sermon on the theme “Your Labour is Not in Vain” using 1 Corinthians 15:58 as his anchor text.

In his message, Apostle Obuobi reminded believers that service to God is never futile. He explained that, although labour in ministry comes with challenges, discouragement, or lack of recognition, God is faithful to reward the diligence of His people.

He, therefore, urged Christians to remain steadfast, immovable, and abounding in the Lord’s work.

Paying glowing tribute to the retiring couple, the General Secretary described Apostle Kesse as a man of humility and hard work, whose ministry has impacted many. He assured the couple that their labour in the Lord would never be in vain and called on the congregation to emulate their example.

The service attracted a large gathering of ministers (both active and retired), government officials, traditional leaders, members of the Suame Area, relatives of the couple, and congregants from the various stations where the couple served.

The Suame Area Pastorate, Area Presbytery, the Women’s Ministry, and the General Council of the church all testified to the couple’s exemplary service and presented citations in their honour. The General Secretary, on behalf of the church, presented a Certificate of Service to them.

Beneficiaries of the full scholarship scheme to Pentecost University, instituted under his leadership for needy but brilliant students in the Suame Area, also presented a citation plaque to Apostle John Obeng Kesse, on the sidelines of the event, in appreciation of the life-changing support he had extended to them.

Born in 1961, Apostle John Obeng Kesse was called into full-time ministry in 1986 and served in various duty stations including New Abirem, Osenase, Begoro, Achimota, Akosombo, Afram Plains, Senegal, Sefwi Wiawso, and Suame, where he spent his final five years in active ministry. Rising through the ranks, he was called into the office of Apostle in 2010 and served as both Area Head and National Head in the course of his ministerial service.

Throughout his ministry, Apostle Kesse was celebrated for his deep spirituality, integrity, and passion for teaching and mentoring. Under his leadership, the Suame Area grew significantly in numbers and impact, recording outstanding results in missions and evangelism.

Mrs. Eunice Owiredua Kesse, affectionately called Mama Owiredua, was also honoured for her unwavering support, fervent prayer life, and outstanding role in the Women’s Ministry. She is remembered for her hospitality, prophetic worship, and generosity, which left lasting impressions on all who encountered her.

Together, the couple nurtured many ministers, raised leaders, and touched countless lives across Ghana and beyond.

As Apostle John Obeng and Mrs. Eunice Owiredua Kesse step into retirement, the General Council of the Church paid glowing tribute to their legacy of faith, service, and humility, praying for God’s continued guidance and strength in the years ahead.

Bimpong-Egya District Dedicates Central Church Building web

Bimpong-Egya District Dedicates Central Church Building

The Bimpong-Egya District of The Church of Pentecost in the Twifo Praso Area has dedicated its Central Assembly church building to the glory of God. The service was chaired by the Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko, with support from the District Minister, Pastor Abraham Gyabaah.

The Assembly was opened in 1964 by the late Pastor Yaw Frimpong, then Twifo Praso District Minister, after an evangelistic outreach. Worship began in a school building with 20 members, led by Presiding Elder Zechariah Djam Eklo, assisted by Elders Yaw Kumah, Daniel Kuleke, and Wisdom Abochie. After Elder Eklo’s passing, Elder Kumah took over leadership.

Elder Kumah later donated land at “Aunty Ruth,” where a mud structure – half roofed with aluminum sheets and half with thatch – earning the nickname “skirt and blouse” was erected. In 1987, the presbytery acquired a new land from Akuapem Mampong and built another mud structure, with roofing logs provided by the late Opanin Kwesi Dompey.

A permanent building project began in 2017 under Elder Isaac Trekpa and the then District Minister, Rev. Isaac Joe Adusei. In 2019, the Assembly received a Head Office grant during the tenure of Rev. Vincent Ephraim Amegah. Following the creation of Bimpong-Egya District in August 2019, Pastor Gyabaah and his family pushed the project forward, supported by Apostle Otu-Nyarko, who continued the work initiated by his predecessor, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe.

The completed building, costing GH₵268,400, features washrooms and offices for accounts and records. Funding came from Headquarters and Area grants, District and Local offerings, and donations from individuals, including Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani and wife Mary, Pastor Gyabaah and wife Evelyn, Hon. David Vondee (MP for Twifo Atti Morkwa), Hon. Ebenezer Obeng Dwamena (NPP Parliamentary Candidate), and KWASERK Company Ltd.

Preaching on “The Essentials of a Dedicated Building” from Zechariah 2:1-5 and Hebrews 9:3-5, Twifo Praso District Minister, Pastor Frank Larbi, urged members to preserve God’s presence in His church. Apostle Otu-Nyarko commended the congregation for their commitment and encouraged them to care for the facility.

The event was attended by the Area pastorate and wives, community chief Togbe Ringo Gottah, and other dignitaries.

230 Souls Won In Asantekwa During Abossey Okai Worship Centre Outreach

A total of 230 souls were won for Christ during a four-day evangelistic outreach by the Abossey Okai Worship Centre (AOWC) in the Kaneshie Area of The Church of Pentecost to Asantekwa in the Bono East Region.

The outreach, which took place from August 5 to 9, 2025, was part of the church’s ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda. As part of the outreach, 23 new converts baptised in water – all of whom received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, while an additional 36 believers were baptised in the Holy Spirit during an all-night service.

The 27-member delegation was led by the District Minister, Pastor Fred Stephen Sarfo, and the District Evangelism Leader, Elder Ernest Sarpong. They were warmly welcomed by the Asantekwa District Minister, Overseer Enoch Ofori Kwarteng, and his presbytery.

The second day featured a familiarisation tour of the town, including visits to Fuller Falls and Kintampo Waterfalls. The team was divided into four groups and deployed across five local assemblies in the Asantekwa District — Asantekwa, Sogliboi, Ahinakom, Busuama/Yara, and Ntraban. At Sogliboi, a cinema evangelism event led to the salvation of 19 people.

On the third day, various forms of outreach — rallies, cinema evangelism, radio broadcasts, street preaching, and house-to-house visits — brought many to Christ.
A major highlight was the miraculous healing of a woman named Serwaa Akosua, who had been paralysed for 10 years. She received instant healing and began walking, prompting great rejoicing.

Day four included a free health screening for residents, during which six people accepted Christ. The team also donated clothing, footwear, and other items, as well as a motorbike, which was received by Kintampo Area Head, Apostle Francis Agyemang Badu, and Overseer Ofori Kwarteng.

Pastor Fred Stephen Sarfo expressed gratitude for the unprecedented spiritual harvest, saying, ‘We came to share the gospel, but God did more than we imagined — saving souls, healing the sick, and uniting His church in love and service.’

Downtown-Ofaakor Area Head Dedicates Two Church Buildings in Awuakyekwaa District

Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho, Area Head of the Downtown-Ofaakor Area, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, officiated a special service in the Awuakyekwaa District to dedicate the Okwampah and Penim Assembly church buildings and lay the foundation stone for the Darko Botwey Assembly.

The service, which brought together members, officers, ministers, and community representatives from the Awuakyekwaa and Awutu Bawjiase Districts, was a significant milestone in the District’s ongoing development.

Delivering the sermon on the theme “The Expert Builder,” Pastor Isaac Ampomah, District Minister for the Jei-Krodua District, emphasized that God’s dwelling place is not in physical structures but in the hearts of believers. He noted that while buildings may deteriorate with time, the spiritual house built on the foundation of Christ remains enduring.

“The strength of any building lies in its foundation,” Pastor Ampomah stated, drawing parallels between physical construction and spiritual life. He concluded his sermon by reminding the congregation that the church must always be a house of continual prayer.

The Okwampah Assembly was planted in 2004 through the evangelistic efforts of the Women’s Ministry of Bethel Assembly (now Awuakyekwaa Central). In 2008, land for the church was acquired by the Bawjiase District under the leadership of Elder Samuel Odjo, and a temporary structure was later erected during the tenure of Pastor Ransford Essel.

On July 12, 2023, Apostle Dr. Benjamin Ali (Retd) laid the foundation for the permanent church building. With the help of local and district efforts, and a grant approved by Apostle William Edzorhoho, the building was successfully completed. Over the past 21 years, eight leaders have served the Assembly, playing instrumental roles in its growth and development.

The Penim Assembly was established in 1983, a year after Bawjiase was officially designated a District. It was the first church in the Penim community and initially met in an old school building. The land was graciously donated by the late Chief Nai Kwao Otuo V.

In 2017, the church received a grant from the Community-Based Church Building (CBCB) initiative. The sod-cutting ceremony was held in 2018 by Apostle Samuel Antwi (Retd), then Kasoa Area Head. The foundation stone was laid in 2019 by Apostle Samuel Otu Appiah, supported by Pastor Ebenezer Tawiah-Mensah. Elder John Onomah served as the Presiding Elder during that period.

Following the creation of the Awuakyekwaa District in 2019 from the Bawjiase District, Pastor George Arthur continued overseeing the project. He secured a grant from then Area Head Apostle Dr. Benjamin Ali (Retd) for re-roofing. Apostle William Edzorhoho later ensured the full completion of the project, in line with his commitment to see all CBCB projects in the Area brought to fruition. Area Deacon Elder Victor Israel Kuoffie also played a significant supporting role.

Apostle Edzorhoho expressed profound appreciation to the District Pastor, leadership, and all contributors whose sacrifices – both financial and physical – helped realize these projects. He praised the collaborative effort that made the day a success and affirmed the District’s progress as a sign of God’s continued faithfulness.

The well-attended event was graced by several ministers and their spouses, officers, and members from the surrounding districts.

SERVE GOD WITH YOUR POSSESSIONS – APOSTLE DIEUDONNÉ NUEKPE CHARGES CHRISTIANS pn

Serve God With Your Possessions – Apostle Dieudonné Nuekpe Charges Christians

Apostle Dieudonné Komla Nuekpe, an Executive Council Member and La Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has advised Christians, particularly church leaders, to serve God with all they possess — including their lives, resources, talents, time, and intellect — for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Delivering a message titled “Serving God with Your Possessions” at the Day 2 morning session of the maiden Western World Ministers and Wives Conference in Amsterdam today [August 7, 2025], Apostle Nuekpe reminded participants that both spiritual and material blessings are divine trusts, not personal entitlements.

“Our God is a giving God — everything He created gives,” he said, referencing the sun, moon, stars, and earth. “If everything God made gives, then I must also give. We are not owners, but stewards. Everything belongs to God.”

The conference, being held at the Park Inn by Radisson, has brought together ministers and their spouses from across Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania. It is organised by the International Missions Directorate of The Church of Pentecost under the theme: “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling” (Ephesians 4:1; Galatians 1:24; 1 Thessalonians 4:7–8).

Apostle Nuekpe explained that in both the Old and New Testaments, faithful stewardship has always been a mark of godliness. Citing biblical figures like King David and the early church in Acts 4, he illustrated how sacrificial giving and full devotion were key to accomplishing God’s purposes.

He stressed that possessions include not only material resources (money, properties, goods), but also spiritual gifts, time, talents, homes, and intellect. Each, he said, must be intentionally offered in service to the Lord.

“We must move from ownership to stewardship,” he said. “God owns all. We are just managers — and faithful stewardship demands accountability, growth, and results.”

Referring to Vision 2028, Apostle Nuekpe highlighted the need for intentional mobilization of church resources to support church planting, missionary work, social care, and the expansion of Christ-centered institutions globally.

“This vision is a direct response to the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. It takes resources to send missionaries, build churches, support schools, and reach the vulnerable,” he stated.

He further encouraged ministers to model sacrificial service as seen in the life of Jesus, who not only gave His life on the cross but also washed the feet of His disciples.

“Our homes must become sanctuaries. Our money must honour God. Our time must be used wisely. Our intellect must serve the Kingdom,” he urged. “Every part of us must declare: I serve God with what I have.”

While acknowledging challenges such as financial strain and societal pressure, Apostle Nuekpe emphasised that true service goes beyond comfort — it reaches into eternal reward.

“Jesus, the ultimate stockbroker, said we must store up treasures in heaven,” he noted. “Let us not hold back. Let us give all to the God who gave everything.”

The Western World Ministers and Wives Conference continues until August 8, 2025, with sessions led by leaders of the Church, including the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and the Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe.
