Apostle Nyamekye, Family Build Mission House For Asokore District

The Chairman of The Chuch of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and his family have funded the construction of a new Mission House for the Asokore District of the Church, in the Ashanti Region.

Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng, Kwadaso Area Head and Executive Council Member, dedicated the new manse on February 4, 2024.

The journey to the new Mission House began in May 2022 after attending a funeral at the existing Mission House. He discussed the need for a new Mission House with the then District Pastor, Emmanuel Asamoah Aboagye.

A few months later, a piece of land was acquired at GHS 20,000.00. Apostle Nyamekye contributed GHS 21,000.00 to cover the cost of the land and its registration.

The construction officially began with a sod-cutting ceremony performed by Apostle Keneth Baffoe Antwi, Ejisu Area Head, on September 11, 2022.

Architect Elder Professor Duah from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) revealed the design details of the new Mission House. The 5-bedroom building includes two living rooms, a storeroom, and a guest room.

The Obuase Area Head of the Church, Prophet David Kankam Beditor, delivered a sermon titled “Unleashed to Live a Life that Reflects God’s Kingdom Values to Transform Your World.”

Drawing some lessons from Matthew 6:33, Prophet Beditor reminded believers that the ultimate aim in life is to go to Heaven. He asserted that the Kingdom of God, found in Jesus Christ, has many principles that followers must adhere to.

Referencing Matthew 5:5-13, the Obuase Area Head highlighted the numerous blessings in the Word of God.

He pointed out that living by God’s word attracts blessings and makes the Kingdom of God our possession. He urged believers to maintain a pure heart, a prerequisite for seeing God.

Drawing lessons from the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Prophet Kankam Beditor emphasised the themes of reconciliation and restoration. He noted that just as the father in the parable welcomed back his unworthy son, God expects his children to reconcile with others and help those who have strayed from the Kingdom of God.

Present at the service were the wife of the Chairman, Mrs Mary Nyamekye and their family, Apostle Yaw Agyei Kwateng (Ashanti Region RCC Coordinator/ Executive Council Member), Apostle Dr Deudenne Nuekpe (La Area Head/Executive Council Member), Apostle Peter Kofi Dzamekey (Asokwa Area Head), Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku (New Tafo Area Head), Apostle John Obeng Kesse (Suame Area Head), Apostle Victor K. Asamoah (Bompata Area Head), and Apostle John Appiah Aidoo (Abuakwa Area Head).

Also present were Apostle Samuel Kwabena Asare (Mampong Area Head), Apostle Daniel Owusu (Konongo Area Head), Apostle Fred Tiakor (Ashanti Bekwai Area Head), Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Apostle Gideon Obeng Darko Debrah (Atonsu Area Head), Apostle Daniel Nsaful (Old Tafo Area Head), Apostle Dr Ignatius Buertey (Asokwa PIWC Resident Minister), Pastor Emmanuel Asamoah Aboagye (Asokore District), Pastor Emmanuel Kyei Boate (Barekese District), Hon. Nana Ayew Afriyie (MP, Effiduase/Asokore Constituency), Elder Nana Amo Tobin (Tobinco Group of Companies), and Elder Nana K. Gyasi (Nana K. Gyasi Co. Ltd.)

Vision 2028 Requires That We Foster Teamwork For Progress – Apostle Mike Etrue

Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue, the Koforidua Area Head and an Executive Committee Member of The Church of Pentecost, has admonished Church leaders to foster teamwork in the light of the Church’s Vision 2028 to maximise growth.

Apostle Etrue, who also serves as the Eastern Regional Coordinating Committee (ERCC) Coordinator, said this in an exhortation to the Koforidua Area Presbytery of the Church during their End-of-Year meeting held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Central Tabernacle.

He explained that Vision 2028 of The Church of Pentecost, which has the overarching theme, Possessing the Nations II: Unleashing the Whole Church for the Transformation of their World with the Values and Principles of the Kingdom of God”, has ministry space for everyone, hence the need to foster teamwork for progress.

In a sermon entitled, “Fostering Teamwork for Progress,” the Area Head explained teamwork as work done by several associates with each doing a part but all subordinating personal prominence to the efficiency of the whole.

He emphasised that in unity lies strength and Church leaders must know this.

He intimated that Vision 2028 of the Church has several components such as Ministry to Celebrities, Ministry to Muslims, Chaplaincy, among others and this will require that leaders foster teamwork, as a single person cannot accomplish it all.

With reading from Genesis 11:4-5, the Eastern RCC Coordinator exegete that the people of Babel were heading towards human success simply because they were one and were building as a team, but unfortunately their goals and aspirations were contrary to the revealed word and plans of God for humans.

Apostle Etrue exhorted that when Christian leaders foster teamwork according to the revealed word and plans of God in Christ, their results will be great.

With further reading from John 17:20-23, Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue established that Jesus underscores the essence of teamwork hence prayed for the unity of the disciples.

He also added that the biblical basis for teamwork include the Holy Trinity (Genesis 1:26), and the collaborative leadership of Moses with Joshua, Aaron, and Caleb who shared in the load of leadership.

He also added that other biblical characters such as Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3), Ezra (Ezra 7:28), and Solomon (Eccl. 4:9-12) all exemplified teamwork.

The Area Head cited Luke 10 and illustrated that Jesus modelled teamwork in his earthly ministry and also mentioned that the early church did same (Acts 6:1-7; 11:19-30; 12:12-17; 13:1-13; 18:1-4).

Apostle Mike Etrue extoled the importance of teamwork and mentioned that results are multiplied, less stress for everyone, church growth occurs, increased joy is produced in the body of believers, and individual and group potentials are discovered.

The Area Head intimated that God’s plans has always been using role players rather than superstars.

He bemoaned situations where some Christian leaders ignore teamwork thinking soloing is easier with others having control issues and will dictate instead of taking ideas from the group. “Dictatorship results in stifled creativity”, he noted.

He also stated that some leaders in their bid to satisfy their personal ego needs ignore the group to sole leadership.

With further reading from Romans 12:5, he explained that the psychology of Teams has it that the Church is a body of Christ with different people and functions, hence the need to promote team work.

Apostle Etrue encouraged leaders to adopt creative strategies in the midst of challenges to keep the value of teamwork alive.

He also challenged the leaders to ensure that members are taught to understand Vision 2028 so that they can give their best towards its achievement.

EMBRACING THE DIGITAL PULPIT web

Embracing The Digital Pulpit

In a world increasingly woven with digital threads, The Church of Pentecost, under the visionary leadership of Chairman Apostle Nyamekye, is boldly stepping into the realm of the E-Church. In a recent message, the chairman laid out a ground-breaking vision for transforming the church’s online presence—not just into a passive platform but into a vibrant, interactive, and faith-igniting extension of the physical church.

Chairman Nyamekye, recognizing the exponential growth of digital engagement, painted a picture of an E-Church that transcends geographical boundaries and time zones. He envisioned online sermons radiating beyond church walls, reaching those physically distant or yearning for deeper connection. Imagine the potential to touch lives in remote villages, hospital beds, and bustling city apartments, all at the touch of a screen.

But the E-Church is not merely about replicating traditional services online. It’s about harnessing the unique potential of the digital world to create a dynamic tapestry of faith experiences. Let us be encouraged to explore interactive Bible studies, engage in live Q&A sessions with pastors, and foster virtual prayer groups that bridge continents and cultures.

The E-Church, as emphasized, should also be a platform for nurturing community and spiritual growth. With this in mind, we can champion the creation of online mentorship programs, vibrant youth forums, and support groups for specific needs. Imagine a church where members find solace and fellowship not just on Sundays but throughout the week, woven together by the invisible threads of the digital church.

Furthermore, we can use the E-Church as a powerful tool for evangelism. We can leverage online platforms with pulsating engaging testimonies, thought-provoking discussions, and captivating multimedia content. This digital outreach, I believe, could ignite the spark of faith in hearts far beyond the traditional reach of the church.

Of course, embracing the E-Church concept comes with challenges. Ensuring inclusivity for those with limited digital access, safeguarding online security and privacy, and fostering meaningful connections in a virtual space are all concerns requiring careful consideration. Yet, these challenges shouldn’t deter us but rather motivate us to find innovative solutions.

The message from the Chairman is clear: the E-Church is not a fad but a necessary evolution for The Church of Pentecost in the digital age. It’s a bold invitation to step out of the comfort zone of traditional brick-and-mortar structures and embrace the boundless possibilities of the digital realm. It’s an opportunity to reimagine what it means to be a church—a vibrant, inclusive, and ever-present community of faith, connected not just by physical walls but by the invisible threads of shared belief and digital connection.

The E-Church is not the distant future; it’s the present calling. As Chairman Nyamekye has challenged us, let us open our hearts and minds to this exciting chapter in the journey of The Church of Pentecost and, together, build an E-Church that shines the light of faith onto the world, pixel by pixel and soul by soul, to possess the nations.

Possessing the nations, I am an agent of transformation.

Possessing the nations, transforming my world.

BECOMING A SOUL WINNER WEB

Becoming A Soul Winner: A Biblical Perspective

INTRODUCTION

In the tapestry of faith, one of the most profound callings for believers is to be soul winners. Rooted in the teachings of the Bible, the concept of winning souls transcends mere evangelism; it embodies a heartfelt commitment to sharing the transformative message of salvation with others. This article delves into the biblical foundations of being a soul winner and explores the significance of this calling for Christians.

THE GREAT COMMISSION

At the heart of the Christian faith lies the Great Commission, a charge given by Jesus Christ to His disciples. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

This commission is not just a directive to spread the Gospel but a profound invitation to participate in the salvation of souls. As believers, the call to be soul winners is intricately woven into our identity as followers of Christ.

COMPASSION AND LOVE

Being a soul winner is not a mechanical task but a manifestation of compassion and love. The Bible teaches in Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.” This verse emphasizes the wisdom of leading others to the source of eternal life.

In 1 Peter 4:8, believers are encouraged to “above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” Love becomes the driving force behind the desire to see others find redemption in Christ.

THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP

Jesus beautifully illustrates the heart of a soul winner in the Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:3-7). In this narrative, a shepherd leaves the ninety-nine sheep to find the one that is lost. The joy upon finding the lost sheep mirrors the heavenly celebration over one sinner who repents.

This parable underscores the profound value God places on each individual soul. It challenges believers to adopt a similar attitude of relentless pursuit and joy in leading others to the Shepherd.

RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The biblical concept of being a soul winner carries a weight of responsibility. In Ezekiel 3:18, God declares, “If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.”

This passage emphasizes the accountability of believers in warning others about the consequences of a life separated from God. Being a soul winner is not merely an option but a sacred duty.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, being a soul winner is a central theme in the Christian journey, grounded in the teachings of the Bible. The Great Commission, fueled by love and compassion, calls believers to actively engage in the salvation of souls. The Parable of the Lost Sheep exemplifies the joy in leading others to the Shepherd, while passages like Ezekiel 3:18 highlight the responsibility and accountability associated with this calling. As Christians, embracing the role of a soul winner is not only an expression of obedience but a powerful demonstration of the transformative love of Christ.

Be An Authentic Christian – Chairman Advises web

Be An Authentic Christian – Chairman Advises

The President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) and the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on Christians to be authentic by leading lives that reflect the image of Christ.

He made this call at the opening of the GPCC 5-day Discipleship Training on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh.

He said that the nation does not need more pastors or churches but genuine followers of Christ who can bring transformation to society.

“The greatest need we have in this nation is not many more pastors and churches but authentic Christians, a people like Christ. It is only Jesus Christ that transforms, but until we have people like him, there will be no transformation,” he said.

He urged the participants to rethink what Christianity means and to live it out as a way of life, not just a title or a profession.

He also encouraged them to translate their religiosity into spirituality, which can impact the nation positively.

“We need to rethink Christianity. Christianity is not about titles or pastors but a way of life. Translate your religiosity to spirituality, which brings transformation. If we translate our numbers into real spirituality, we will be a blessing to the nation,” he said.

He quoted various scriptures to emphasise the importance of holding on to the teachings of Jesus Christ and conforming to His image.

He said God’s ultimate purpose for every born-again Christian is to reveal Christ in and through them. He added that God has given them everything they need to transform into the image of His son.

Apostle Nyamekye further explained that the seed of Christ in them gives them the potential to become like Him and that they should nurture and grow that seed by avoiding sin and erasing any mistakes.

“When you sin, it means you have missed the mark. Sin, to us, is a mistake; it is not a weakness. The seed of Christ in you has power over sin. When you miss the mark (make a mistake), do not continue in it, erase it,” he said.

He also shared some practical ways to manifest the image of Christ in their lives and actions. He said that the image or seed of Christ should not just remain in their hearts but must be seen in their body, as seen in 2 Corinthians 4:10-11. “People should think they have come to Jesus when they are around you. If Christ is in you, let Him be manifested in your body”, he revealed.

He added that to be able to do the works of God, they just need to believe in Jesus.

The Chairman cited Ephesians 4:11-13 and Ephesians 3:14-19 to stress the importance of teaching and prayer as the two major agents of transformation. He said that the scriptures and prayer should work hand in hand to help them grow in Christ.

He quoted Luke 4:20-22 and Colossians 2:2-3 to illustrate how Christlikeness should be holistic and affect every part of their body.

He said that growing into the image of Christ must also include growing in wisdom and knowledge and that the wisdom needed to deal with the affairs of life is found in the seed of Christ planted in them.

“When you say you are a good Christian, it doesn’t mean walk sanctimoniously, but rather Christ must be manifested in your body. In your normal conversation, gracious words must come out of your mouth”, he added.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye said that to become more and more like Christ, they should be like Him in power and in deed, and have power over sin and evil forces. He said that being a disciple is to be all like Christ is.

“When you are like Christ, do not think you will not suffer in life, but in the midst of all that, be able to shine like stars in the sky”, he encouraged.

“Unless we surrender our crowns, Christlikeness will be difficult to achieve”, he concluded.

The Discipleship Training is for all pastors, ministry leaders and church leaders. It is being held under the theme: Launching Transformational Disciples Movement.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Keystone Project in the USA, under the leadership of Richard Warren Greene (Founder/President, Keystone Project – USA).

The seminar began on Monday, January 29 and is expected to end on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Be Zealous For Good Works – Prophet Tetteh Doku Urges Christians

The New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, has called on Christians to have the zeal for the Lord’s work and spread the Gospel to rescue the perishing.

Prophet Tetteh Doku made the call on Sunday, January 28, 2024, when he fellowshipped with members of the Grace Assembly in the Yennyawoso District of the Church to observe the Gospel Sunday.

Exhorting the elated congregants, the Area Head underscored the need for believers to set their priorities on advancing the Kingdom business.

He, therefore, advised Christians to become all things to all manner of persons and not to despise anybody in their quest to populate the Kingdom of God, charging members of the Church to at least win a soul each within the year for Christ Jesus.

Reading from Luke 9:62 and sharing his personal testimonies, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, further charged Christians to diligently apply themselves to the work of God and purpose in their heart to serve the Lord no matter what happens.

“Don’t hide your identity as a Christian. Let your light shine so that people will see your good works,” he advised, whilst urging the congregants to endeavour to transform their world.

He particularly advised the youth to get on board and involve themselves immensely in the work of God and commit to working tirelessly to ensure the growth of God’s Kingdom.

He also shared some titbits of the recently-held Global Ministers and Wives’ Conference of The Church of Pentecost (CoP) with the congregants, especially in the area of CoP distinctiveness.

After the sermon, he led the congregants into the period of prayer.

Stop Giving Excuses web

Stop Giving Excuses

When we critically examine the parable of the great banquet as told by our Lord Jesus in the scripture above, it points to people who are invited for a feast. Christians have been granted the privilege through the finished works of Christ to partake in all the Lord’s goodness, including times in His presence, the opportunity to study the Word of God, and communion with God and the brethren, among many others. However, this great opportunity to feast with the Lord is ill-attended because the guests (here, Christians) give many excuses and do not show up.

God, through His leaders (of the church), puts up wonderful programs: prayer sessions, Bible studies, conferences, watch nights, etc. Sometimes, good publicity campaigns are put in place to ensure that the announcement goes on properly. Yet, after this invitation and “everything is now ready,” some Christians begin to give excuses to exempt themselves from attending these programs – great banquets. Many Christians do not even want to go to church anymore!

The variety of excuses given for not attending the feast of the Lord are summarised in the three given in the passage according to Luke 14:18-20:

[18] But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ [19] And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ [20] And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ (ESV)

A “field” here may represent all forms of properties that people crave. We toil day and night, indulge in businesses, embark on diligent labor, and one of the things we look forward to achieving through this work is to acquire properties. The net worth of a man in the physical, is a measure of the worth of his properties. We work tirelessly to acquire plots, build or purchase mansions, get huge bank accounts, etc. These are good, but let us not forget about this vital life question asked by our Lord Jesus, “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36, ESV)

Another said, “I have bought five yokes of oxen, and I go to examine them.” The next category of excuses we give is about our jobs or work. We are always punctual at work because we understand fully that we need to work to make a living. Sadly, the seriousness Christians attach to their work is far greater than that which we give to the invitations of God.

Though we are not watering down how important the diligence of work and labor to earn ends meet and to cater for both ourselves, our dependents and even give to the Lord through the Church and the needy is. But we are saying that God has made a great feast for us and this invitation should be given utmost precedence because they have implications on the salvation and nourishment of our souls. Our walk with God and our success in life come through how we respond to God and attend to His invitations, be it our devotions, Bible studies, personal and corporate prayers, church programs, among others. We should not compromise. We should not give excuses, because these are lifeline issues.

And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come (Vs 20) This represents the excuses we give that proceed from our relationships. “My wife or husband said I shouldn’t go”, “my children’s school meeting”, “my friends invited me over”, “there was a family funeral”, etc. These are some of the unending excuses we give in this aspect. We mostly forfeit personal time with God or church meetings for the sake of these reasons.

Let us know that it is part of the disciplines and the cost of discipleship to count everything as null for the attainment of the rich relationship with Christ (Luke 14:26). When we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, all these that we seek through these three forms of excuses we give daily, shall be duly catered for by the Lord Himself!

“Therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6:25, ESV)

Let the present-day Christian prioritise the invitations of the Lord, and let us give God the first place in our lives, no matter what! Excuses excuse you from the Lord’s great banquet! Selah. Shalom!
