Pastor Justice Twene Adane of the Afienya Estate District of The Church of Pentecost has said that Jesus Christ, who died and rose again, is the only accredited source of eternal life.

He made this declaration during the Day Two of the Afienya Estate District 2024 Easter Convention on March 29, 2024.

He narrated the biblical creation story, highlighting how God created the world and humanity in His own image.

Pastor Adane talked about God’s initial exaltation of man, placing him in the Garden of Eden to care for all creations but warning against disobedience. He explained how sin entered the world through man’s rebellion, leading to separation from God.

He delved into the consequences of sin, illustrating how mankind became corrupt over time, culminating in God’s decision to destroy most of humanity in a flood, sparing only Noah due to his righteousness.

Pastor Adane spoke on the struggles of the Israelites to uphold God’s laws and the need for sacrifices to atone for sins before Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross.

The Afienya Estate District Minister revealed that Jesus came to earth with a mission to defeat sin and provide salvation for humanity.

He described Jesus as the King who desires to reign in people’s hearts, the Way to the Father, and the Source of eternal life.

Pastor Adane shared a miraculous account of Jesus raising a dead man back to life, underscoring Jesus’ power over death.

“Jesus does not only offer physical life but also eternal life, which is considered superior. It is only Christ that can provide this eternal life and the promise of resurrection for those who believe in Him. Jesus is the only one accredited to forgive sins, just like how only Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), in Ghana, distributes electricity,” he said.

In conclusion, Pastor Justice Twene Adane urged the congregation to embrace Jesus Christ as the solution to their sins and the source of eternal life

He beseeched them to turn to Jesus for salvation, who has power to cleanse and redeem individuals from various sins and struggles, such as homosexuality, addiction, and bad habits.

He reassures the congregation that Jesus’ blood is powerful enough to forgive even the most notorious individuals, as read from biblical accounts like Zaccheus and the crucifixion scene.

There is a life-giving power for mankind, and this power emanates from the cross, Pastor Samuel Kwadwo Oteng, the Ashtown District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has declared.

Delivering his sermon on the topic: “The Message of the Cross Is Life,” on Good Friday [March 29, 2024] during the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park, Pastor Oteng emphasised the reality of Jesus’ death on the cross and the suffering He endured for the sake of mankind’s salvation.

“He who knew no sin was made sin for us so that in Him we might become God’s righteousness. All our sins were laid on Jesus,” he stated.

Drawing references from biblical passages such as 1 Corinthians 1:18, John 6:63, Hebrews 4:12, and John 6:68, the Ashtown District Minister stressed the transformative power of the word of God in bringing life to individuals who believe.

Highlighting the significance of a person’s parting words, Pastor Samuel Kwadwo Oteng discussed the seven profound statements Jesus made on the cross before His death, stating that they were essential for humanity’s salvation and shared the inherent lessons with the congregation. He encouraged Christians to embody Jesus’ forgiving nature and serve God with integrity.

The clergyman affirmed that Jesus Christ, as the embodiment of resurrection and life, offers life to all who turn to Him, urging everyone to fully commit themselves to Him for a fulfilled life and divine protection.

The 2024 New Tafo Area Easter Convention was held under the theme: “Jesus Christ, the Resurrection and the Life,” – John 11:25.

A one-day conference dubbed “Let The Bible Speak Conference,” organised by the Cape Coast Sector of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA), took place this year on March 23, 2024, at the Adisadel College Centenary Auditorium with 1,410 participants.

Apostle Anthony Mensah, the Resident Minister of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic, began the opening session of the conference with an insightful sermon on “Divine Healing.”

He explained that The Church of Pentecost holds the belief that the healing of sicknesses and diseases of believers is provided in the atoning works of Christ (the manifestation, life, death, and resurrection of Christ.).

“The redemptive work of God for humanity is in this atonement. Atonement is bringing two unbalanced things together, making them balanced. The fall of man created an imbalance in the life of man.

“The only way to restore the imbalance was for God to ensure it was corrected in Christ Jesus. In this balance that Christ formed is divine healing. Healing is then strongly based on the Bible. Divine healing has been provided in the scriptures, and anything outside of scriptures is not of God,” he said.

Apostle Mensah expounded on divine healing from the perspective of both the Old and New Testaments.

According to him, a Lord/God/Deity in the Biblical Culture was supposed to be able to heal diseases, forgive sins, and give the ability to reproduce to his members/worshippers.

He said that incarnations were said whenever healing was to be proclaimed, giving room to Maddok or Er. (Egyptian and Mesopotamian gods), stressing that: “Since God can do more than these deities were expected to do, He revealed Himself as Jehovah Ropheka, which was God making a covenant with His people, expressing His nature as a God who heals, restores, and delivers.”

He gave examples of this from the lives of Sarah, Manoah’s wife, and Hannah. He mentioned that the requirements for healing in the Old Testament were obedience to the details of the covenant with emphasis on loyalty to God (Exodus 23:24), Keeping the commandments of God (Exodus 15:25-26), and walking in godly fear and humility (Proverbs 3:7-8).

Apostle Mensah further noted that Jesus’ ministry sums up in preaching, teaching, and healing.

Reading from Luke 7:1- 10, the PIWC-Atomic Resident Minister stated that people exhibited great faith in healing whenever they came to Jesus. He mentioned the Canaanite woman, centurion, etc., as examples of people who received healing through faith.

“In Lystra and Derbe, Paul was preaching, and the crippled man was listening. Paul perceived he had faith to be healed, and the crippled got healed,” he said, adding: “It is not only healing which is available in Christ, all other inheritances are available. Access these things through the Holy Spirit.”

The second session of the conference was on Marriage and Family Life, presented by Mrs. Mary Nana Aba Mensah, the wife of Apostle Tony Mensah, using Genesis 2:18-24, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:21-28 as her main scripture references.

“Marriage is an institution created by God where a man will leave his parents and cleave to his wife; leaving is necessary for cleaving. In marriage, there is an emotional, religious, and legal commitment where physical intimacy, responsibility, and expectations are shared,” she explained.

Mrs. Mary Mensah encouraged the young participants to pay proper attention to red flags in pre-marital relationships, stressing the fact that marriage does not change an individual’s behaviour; rather, it magnifies their behaviour.

She shared that marriage is ordained by God to provide helpers suitable to accomplish a task, serving as a foundation for multiplication. Hence, suitability in finding a helpmeet is very important.

Mrs. Mensah further shared that no condition should let one leave his wife or her husband. It is then expedient not to rush into marriage but to be patient and allow God to lead you.

“The CoP believes in chastity before marriage. Everyone has sexual urges, and its solution is self-control, which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Remember, ‘Adwa-man’ literally means breaking a nation. Do not break the nations God has embedded in you,” she concluded.

The last session for the conference focused on “The Bible,” presented by Pastor Frank Akonnor, the Resident Campus Pastor for the University of Cape Coast (UCC) branch of PENSA.

He mentioned that every textbook, pamphlet, or handbook has an error and is subject to change, but the Bible is not; John 3:16 remains the same. The Bible is infallible, inerrant, and has authority. It is God’s word, a product of inspiration and revelation.

“Bible is from the Greek word Biblia, which means books. The Bible refers to a collection of Scriptures from the Old Testament and New Testament used by churches. It is our manual. Other terms used for the Bible are scriptures, holy scriptures, writings, sacred writings, the word of God, the word of life, and the word of truth. Considering 2 Timothy 3:16, the Bible gives completion and thorough equipment of the servant of God for good works,” he said.

He ended the presentation by explaining the three main concepts of the Bible: its infallibility, inerrancy, and canonisation of the Bible.

“Infallibility of the Bible means the Bible is without fault. Inerrancy means the Bible is without error. The canonisation of the Bible is the process by which sieving was made to arrive at the current 66 books of the Bible,” he explained.

The participants were led in a time prayer and impartation session by Apostle Anthony Mensah. The participants left the conference fully equipped for every good work.

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Kaneshie Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost has called on Christians to make it a point to live their lives in a manner that reflects the salvation Christ has brought to the world.

He made this call on Good Friday [March 29, 2024] when he preached on the theme, “Jesus Christ! Pierced, Crushed, Oppressed and Wounded for Our Sins,  Forgivenessand Salvation,” at the Kaneshie Central Assembly Auditorium where the Kaneshie Zone are holding their convention.

According to Apostle S.O Asante, the kind of punishment Jesus was given which included several forms of torture and crucifixion was only meant for hardened criminals but considering His life, He never deserved such a punishment.

Painting a picture of the terrible experience Jesus went through, he explained that, the aim of the soldiers was to wound him by piercing and crushing him through the severe beatings, leaving him disfigured which represented lost glory.

 However, God made Jesus go through such a torturous situation and death for the salvation and perfect redemption of mankind.

“Jesus Christ is God who came on earth for our salvation. In His godliness, he had glory and was above all humans. He had never been tortured. But for the salvation and redemption of mankind, He had to be crucified and disgraced,” Apostle S.O Asante said.

He backed this with scriptures from Isaiah 52:13-15 and 53:1-3

The Kaneshie Area Head called on all Christians to recognise that the means by which Jesus saved them wasn’t a very delightful one hence, they must cherish it dearly.

He also added that all Christians should live a life that shows that they have been saved indeed so that Jesus will not regret the suffering He went through.

The Media Ministry Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Dr. Felix Dela Klutse, has said that although the world is full of wickedness, true believers are untouchable because they are assured of God’s enduring protection.

Pastor Dr. Felix Klutse made this assertion yesterday while preaching on the topic “Jesus: The Only Hope In This Wicked Generation” at the Easter Convention of the Topbase Zone in the Odorkor Area of the Church.

Using Acts 2:36 and Luke 8:45-47 as scripture references, he explained that the world is filled with wickedness, and people continue to exhibit great wickedness towards others. Despite this, Christians will continue to enjoy the protection of the Almighty God.

He stated that every Christian saved through the blood of Jesus Christ has power over the devil and his cohorts and therefore remains untouchable.

According to him, some people might try to cause harm to the believer without any cause, but their efforts shall be thwarted because no weapon fashioned against God’s people will succeed.

He emphasised that as long as one remains in Christ, their life is secured and safe from any untimely death, stressing that: “Jesus is the vitamins of your life so you will enjoy long life.”

He further explained that Christians are untouchable because they have Christ residing in them, thus carrying the trifold anointing of Christ as Prophet, High Priest, and King.

“As a prophet, you do not need any seer to prophesy into your life; you can make your own prophetic declaration over your life. As a High Priest, you do not need to go through anyone to access God; rather, you intercede on behalf of others, and as a King, you must rule over your domain and wherever you go,” he charged.

Pastor Dr. Felix Klutse stressed that it is time for Christians to fearlessly confront the ills of the corrupt generation through the demonstration of the power of God, saying: “It is time for our God to be feared again.”

He, therefore, urged Christians to be bold and demonstrate God’s power wherever they go so that the world will know that they serve the Almighty God and cause them to put their trust in Him.

He also advised persons who are yet to accept Christ as Lord and personal Saviour to do so because He remains the only hope in this perverse and crooked generation.

Apostle Samuel Edzii-Davidson, the Offinso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has advised Christians to live and present their bodies as a living sacrifice to God, especially as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Samuel Edzii-Davidson made this passionate appeal during the 2024 Easter Convention at Boamang District, Offinso Area, on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Speaking on the topic, “Understanding the Finished Work by Jesus on the Cross,” Apostle Samuel Edzii-Davidson highlighted some significance of the death and resurrection of Christ.

He said the greatest blessing of Christ on earth is the finished work He did on the cross.

“On the cross, there was a crossover for humanity. So, whoever believes in Christ crosses over from sin to righteousness, eternal death to eternal life, eternal destruction to eternal salvation, eternal sorrow to eternal joy, eternal burden to eternal peace,” he said.

Taking his Bible references from John 19:30 and Isaiah 53:4&5, he revealed that one is able to cross over because Jesus has taken the sins of humanity away and has imputed His righteousness in them; adding that: “This was the divine exchange that brought mankind from darkness to light and eternal life.”

Explaining this Good News, the Offinso Area Head used the law of jeopardy to demonstrate how believers were saved from their sins.

“The law of double jeopardy states that one is not punished twice for the same crime. Therefore, as Jesus has been punished for our sins, we will not be punished for the same sin. However, it is our responsibility to eschew further offenses and sins and live a life that will please him in order to appreciate and reciprocate the love shown to us,” he said.

According to him, it is the responsibility of every human being to believe and surrender their life to Jesus, live for Him, and work for Him.

“It is our responsibility as Christians to believe in Christ and surrender ourselves to Him as our Lord and personal Savior. This is not done by lip service but by a deliberate attempt to live a Christ-like life,” he said.

The event also had in attendance Mrs. Winnifred Edzii-Davidson (Wife of the Offinso Area Head), Overseer Alex Nana Owusu Nkrumah (Boamang District Minister), his wife, Mrs. Lydia Owusu Nkrumah, as well as all District Executive Committee members, officers, and the entire congregants.

To the glory of God, 33 people received instant healing from various ailments during the service.
