We often say there is hope for everyone unless the dead, meaning the dead can not be used for anything good again in this life of the living because it is impossible to bring back the dead to live. Therefore, as soon as a person gives up the ghost, that ends every hope, but in Christ Jesus, all things are possible, including the dead coming back to life as our Lord Jesus Christ did during his time.

A 7-year-old Sunday School boy of The Church of Pentecost, Emmanuel Kofi Kpentor, has miraculously exercised an unbelievable faith, bringing his dead father back to life.

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, narrated this miraculous event in his State-of-the-Church Address to councillors at the 46th Session of the General Council Meetings of the Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa-Fetteh, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

According to the Chairman, the boy’s father, Daniel Kwaku Kabre, was pronounced dead by the Worawora Government Hospital and was to be sent to the mortuary. As an idol worshiper, all hope was already gone.

“However, to the surprise of the nurses and doctors at the facility, his seven-year-old son, Emmanuel Kofi Kpentor, said he would not allow them to take the body of his dead father to the mortuary until he had prayed for the father to wake up,” an excited Apostle Nyamekye told the gathering.

Upon his insistence, the medical personnel allowed him to pray for the deceased father. Whilst transporting the corpse of Emmanuel’s father to the mortuary after his prayers, the ‘dead body’ started shaking, and was rushed back to the doctors for medical attention.

“By God’s grace, he was restored to life, surrendered his life to Christ, and, together with his wife, was baptised on June 26, 2022,”, Apostle Nyamekye said amidst cheers of praise from the gathering.

Pentecost Church Constructs 3 More Skills Development Centres

The Church of Pentecost has constructed three new Skills Development Centres in Northern Ghana to empower young persons economically.

The facilities are at Temaa in Walewale, Zebilla in Bawku, and Kaleo in Wa.

The Chairman revealed this in the 2022 State-of-the-Church Address (SOCA22), which he delivered on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the 46th General Council Meetings opening ceremony.

In his address, he said, “To enhance economic livelihoods in deprived communities, PENTSOS, with funding from the Church, implemented three critical interventions to improve household incomes and create jobs for the youth.

According to him, the Church, through PENTSOS, constructed a gari processing centre in the Nyambong community in the Nkwanta Area of the Church to improve the standard of living of women and their families in and around the community.

He added that the facility, which comprises a storeroom, office, grating, dewatering, and roasting areas, produces about 500 bags of gari weekly with buyers from Bawku, Bolgatanga, Techiman, Burkina Faso and Mankessim.

He further noted that the Church has constructed and operated a 10-acre solar-powered irrigation farm at Tanga in the Bawku Area. It currently employs 52 farmers to improve their income levels.

Apostle Nyamekye mentioned that, under Vision 2023, a major strategic priority for PENTSOS is to build sustainable livelihoods, climate change resilience, and efficient natural resources management.

“This vision enjoins PENTSOS to train and resource members of The Church of Pentecost on snail rearing, mushroom cultivation, soap making, and dry season vegetable gardening to earn income from the venture,” he indicated.

He revealed that PENTSOS also facilitated financial support provided through PENCO with micro-loans (or partnerships with government or private institutions) for members of the Church to start their businesses after training.

“The overarching purpose of the Church’s livelihood enhancement interventions is to create an enabling environment for job creation to enhance household income levels,” he ended.

The Church of Pentecost is constructing five new health facilities at various places in Ghana to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of many Ghanaians.

The projects, which form part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility and social ministry, are at various stages of completion.

These new facilities are located at Abesiwa in the Duayaw Nkwanta Area of the Church, Teshie Praso and Ohene Nkwanta in the Konongo Area, Bolga-Kumbangre in the Bolga Area and Asuadei in the Abuakwa Area.

The Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, disclosed this in his 2023 State-of-the-Church Address (SOCA22), which he delivered on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the opening of the 46th Session of the General Council Meetings at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

“To the glory of God, I am happy to say that in our quest to strengthen healthcare delivery in Ghana, an additional five new health facilities are being constructed, and they are at various stages of completion,” he said.

When completed and operational, it will add up to the ten health facilities (3 hospitals and 7 clinics) to bring the number of the Church’s health facilities to 17, serving the urban and rural areas under the auspices of the Pentecost Health Service Unit of the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS).

The Church Of Pentecost Now Has Presence In 151 Nations

The Church of Pentecost, a global Pentecostal church, now operates in 151 nations, including Ghana, where its Headquarters is located.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church, made this known during the presentation of the 2022 State-of-the-Church Address at the opening session of the 46th General Council Meetings on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

He disclosed that the total membership of the church worldwide now stands at 4,203,077, recording a growth rate of 7.7% over the previous year. Of the church’s 4,203,077 global membership, 3,597,955 are in Ghana, constituting 85.0% of worldwide membership.

“The remaining 15.0%, which is 605,122, is accounted for by our external branches,” Apostle Nyamekye indicated.

The Chairman revealed that the church opened 1,058 new assemblies worldwide, created 140 districts, and won 353,703 souls for Christ in 2022.

Pentecost Church Pays GH3.6m Hospital Bills For Members

The Church of Pentecost in the year 2022 spent over GHS 3,652,451.00 to support the health care needs of its members at various levels of the Church in Ghana.

In the past four years, under Vision 2023, the Church has spent a total amount of GHS 8,132,040.65 on healthcare support for its members across the country through the local Assemblies, Districts, Areas and Ministries in the church.

Delivering the State-of-the-Church Address on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the opening of the 46th General Council Meetings at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa, the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, disclosed that this figure represents the support at the local, district and area levels and excludes the amount spent by the Headquarters of the Church during the period under review.

Apostle Nyamekye further indicated that the church’s ten health facilities (three hospitals and seven clinics), with a total staff strength of 1,096, provided medical attention to 204,184 patients in the various jurisdictions from where they operate.

In 2022, The Church of Pentecost, through its various Districts, Areas and Ministries in Ghana, together with the Headquarters, spent GHS 10,686,084.76 to sponsor the educational pursuits of members of the Church at various levels.

This figure included GHS 863,443.64 spent under the Headquarters’ sponsored’ Pentecost Education Scholarship Scheme’ (PESS) for other tertiary students,” Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman of the Church, has revealed.

Apostle Nyamekye disclosed this during the 2022 State-of-the-Church Address (SOCA22) he delivered at the 46th General Council Meetings opening ceremony on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

“It is interesting to note that for the past four years, since the inception of the Vision 2023 agenda, a total amount of GHS1,625,417.02 has so far been spent by the Headquarters on educational support under the Pentecost Education Scholarship Scheme,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye further noted: “For the past four years, educational support from various Assemblies, Districts, Areas, and Ministries in Ghana amounted to GHS 23,313,518.93.”

The Chairman stated that through the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), the social services arm of the Church, in consultation with the various Areas of the Church, 107 educational institutions had been established in Ghana comprising 103 basic schools, two (2) senior high schools, and two (2) vocational training institutes.

He further stated that the total enrolment in these schools was 35,486 students (Boys: 16,924 and Girls:18,544), with 2,184 staff (both teaching and administrative) gainfully employed to assist in operating and managing the schools.

The Chairman’s State-of-the-Church address provides a report on the achievements under the various intervention areas of the Church’s Vision 2023 agenda of “Possessing the Nations,” as well as all significant developments that took place in a particular reporting year.

The Church Of Pentecost Membership Hits Over 4.2 Million

The Church of Pentecost, one of the fastest-growing Pentecostal churches in the world, has announced that it now has more than 4.2 million members worldwide.

Membership in Ghana as of the end of December 2022 stood at 3,597,955, representing 85% of the Church’s membership, while the remaining 605,122 members, representing 15%, are in the external branches.

The Church’s membership in Ghana constituted 10.7% of Ghana’s estimated total population of 33,475,870 in 2022.

The Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, who revealed this, stressed that as of December 2022, the Church had a presence in 151 nations, including Ghana, representing a 7.7% increase from the previous year.

Apostle Nyamekye announced this during the State-of-the-Church Address, delivered at the 46th Session of the General Council Meetings of the Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

The Chairman also reported growth in the Church’s youth and children demographics. The Church dedicated 120,047 children worldwide, and 290,548 members received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This number includes 152,348 new converts, representing 63.0% of baptized in water.

Apostle Nyamekye commended the entire members for their individual and collective roles in ensuring the strategic vision’s success (Vision 2023: Possessing the Nations).

He also praised God for His presence and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the affairs of the Church.

The Tamale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, has challenged ministers of the Gospel to draw closer to God and work with urgency in fulfilling their God-given assignments.

According to him, ministers must be proactive and responsive to their calling while acknowledging the challenges associated with their work.

Apostle Arhin, who is also an Executive Council Member, issued this challenge on Tuesday afternoon during the ongoing Head’s Consultative Session preceding the 46th General Council Meetings (46thGCM) at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh near Kasoa.

“Don’t waste time in your work. Be bold, confront challenges with forgiveness and steel, and work as expected,” he stated.

Speaking on the theme “Excelling in Your Ministry,” Apostle Arhin, who is also the Coordinator for the Northern Regional Coordinating Committee, drew lessons from the ministry of Aaron, such as love, boldness, loneliness, and haste, to reinforce his point.

He observed that every minister reaches a crossroads when their followers rebel against them and they eventually become lonely, saying: “This is the moment when the minister is expected to live up to their call as a man of God.”

“Loneliness is part of ministry. A time will come when people will not understand you, and anxiety and depression may set in. In these moments, you don’t dwell on your age, knowledge, or experience, but know that the Lord is with you. Spend more time in your devotions to deepen your relationship with God,” he advised.

Apostle Emmanuel A. Quaye, the Spain National Head of The Church of Pentecost, has advised ministers of the Gospel to support one another in effectively discharging their duties.

Delivering a sermon on Tuesday morning at the Heads’ consultative session preceding the 46th General Council Meetings currently underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh on the theme: “Who is Holding your Hands & Whose Hand are you Holding,” Apostle Quaye quoted scriptures from 2 Chronicles 26:5-15, Luke 5 and Psalm 44:3 to support his message.

He stated that the act of supporting each other, which he refers to as “holding hands,” brings victory and generational continuity since it paves the way for people to be trained and help others to succeed in their work.

He used the story of Moses in the Bible, who overcame the Amalekites when the Israelites kept his hand up to emphasise his point.

“Moses did not achieve this alone as he had the support of Aaron and Hur, who held his hand steady when he was growing tired,” he stated.

Apostle Quaye urged ministers to emulate Aaron and Moses by supporting each other to excel in ministry.

According to him, one way by which ministers can work together is by delegating responsibilities to their subordinates.

“To be successful, you need to train people to work for you even in your absence,” he advised.

He, however, stressed that God should always be the first point of call in times of challenges.

Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo, the Haatso Area Head and immediate-past International Missions Director of The Church of Pentecost, charged Church leaders and members to be content with what they have and not to obsess over things they do not have.

Apostle Gyesi-Addo said this yesterday during the Heads’ Session preceding the 46th General Council Meetings, ongoing at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Delivering a sermon on “Atmosphere of Contentment For Maximum Impact,” Apostle Gyesi-Addo emphasised that contentment is finding joy in what God has given to an individual, being satisfied with what one has, who one is, what one does not have, and having rest in one’s soul.

He stressed that contentment gives believers the Spirit of God, enabling them to make a maximum impact to possess the nations and work diligently.

Apostle Gyesi-Addo further listed some sources of happiness such as the knowledge of Christ, understanding one’s self-worth, and renewing the mind.

The Haatso Area Head also mentioned that complacency can lead to a lack of contentment, hindering growth and expansion.

According to him, contentment is a virtue that grows over time and can be learned from the Word of God and through personal experiences.

He urged members of the church to be content because it facilitates godly life on earth as we prepare for heaven, promotes good health, peace of mind, joyful heart, and long life, and helps in overcoming covetousness.

He also advised Christians to practice gratitude, learn to live one day at a time, and raise issues with the right people rather than being resentful.
