As part of the initiative of the Cape Coast Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, the Area has observed 40 days of fasting and prayers dubbed, ‘A Season of God’s Visitation,’ under the theme: ‘Hastening His Coming, Living for Him, and Making Him Known’ (2 Peter 3:10-12).
The season was full of testimonies, healings, deliverance, and revival among the people, attesting to God’s visitation.
As part of the season, a mega all-night service dubbed, ‘Unction Night’ was held at the forecourt of the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday, November 8, 2024. The ‘Unction Night’ which was attended by over 3,000 members, brought together all districts in the area, including PENSA UCC, PENSA CCTU and PENSA CCNMTC. It was graced by Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng (Kwadaso Area Head and RCC Coordinator for the Ashanti Region) and Apostle Sylvester Arhin (Takoradi Area Head and RCC Coordinator for the Western Region), both members of the Executive Council.
During the testimony time, a brother shared a testimony of how his sister, who previously tested positive for HIV/AIDS, tested negative after joining the 40 days fasting and prayer as well as participating in the online prayers.
Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng preached on the topic, ‘Restoration,’ explaining restoration as bringing something back to its original state.
Reading from Joel 2:22 and Mark 8:22-26, he indicated that God has restored whatever the church lost and will give His church unction rains because He is faithful.
He emphasised that God is a restorer, offering second chances, and that restoration occurs when His people repent. He highlighted six key ‘Rs’ of the Lord during restoration: God Renews, God Returns, God Revives, God Re-establishes, God Restitutes, and God Renovates.
An impartation session dubbed ‘Unction Session’ led by Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin, stimulated a great revival which broke out from pastors to the members where all were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Giftings were revived and healings were all over the place. The meeting ended in glory.
