The Chieftaincy Ministry of Ashanti Bekwai Area of The Church of Pentecost has fellowshipped with the officers and inmates of Obuasi Local Prisons and donated assorted items worth about GHS 8,000.00 to the facility.
The delegation that visited the facility on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, comprised the Area Chieftaincy Committee members, including Pastor Frank Osei Tutu (Area Chieftaincy Ministry Secretary), Pastor Eric Amankwah (Area Prisons Coordinator) and Pastor Samuel Amponsah (Area Missions Committee Chairman).
Delivering a short sermon titled, ‘There is hope for the hopeless,’ Pastor Eric Amankwah indicated that God has a plan for everyone. Reading Jeremiah 29:11 and John 3:16, he said that during unfortunate situations in life, God still has a good plan for everyone.
He noted that sometimes the prison becomes a place of learning and reformation. In God’s plan, He brings hope out of hopeless situation, he said, citing the case of Joseph who was taken to prison and later became the prime minister of Egypt. He concluded by saying that there is hope in Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8: 28).
An altar call by Pastor Frank Osei Tutu yielded 31 souls to the glory of God. Pastor Samuel Amponsah prayed for the converts.
Receiving the items, Pastor DSP J. E. Amoah (Prisons Chaplain) thanked The Church of Pentecost for the kind gesture and impact in society. He also thanked the team for demonstrating God’s love to the inmates.
Pastor DSP Amoah made a passionate appeal to churches and other organisations to support them to purchase musical instruments to start a project dubbed ‘Musical Rehabilitation.’
Also present at the event was Nana Ofosu Kobi, Chief of Atobiase.
