Waves of worship, fervent prayers, and electrifying praise filled the air at the New Market Square in Tease, Afram Plains, as the much-awaited ‘Afram Plains for Christ’ crusade officially began on Tuesday night, August 26, 2025.
The gathering drew hundreds of believers and seekers alike, all eager to encounter the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the Afram Plains Area of the church, the four-day crusade is expected to attract both members of the church and non-members from across the Afram Plains and surrounding communities.
The crusade features ministrations from seasoned speakers, including Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi (General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost), Apostle Emmanuel K. Appiah (Director of the Evangelism Ministry), Prophet Victor Asante Darko (Afram Plains Area Head), Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Elder Godfred Asare (El Shaddai Prayer Centre, Konongo), and Elder Seth Peasah (NEC Member of the Evangelism Ministry and Leader of the El-Bethel Prayer Centre, Ho).
The event is also blessed with song ministrations from the Afram Plains Mass Choir, Sister Joyce Effah, Elder Blessed Koduah, and Deaconess Lizzy Rockson.
The Afram Plains, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, is one of the country’s most fertile but underserved areas.
With vast arable lands along the Afram River, a tributary of the Volta Lake, the local economy largely depends on farming and fishing. Maize, yam, cassava, and groundnuts are cultivated in abundance, while fishing sustains many families along the lakeside.
Despite its rich natural resources, the area faces development challenges due to scattered settlements and difficult terrain.
These challenges, however, make the Afram Plains a strategic focus for missionary work. Through evangelistic campaigns like ‘Afram Plains for Christ,’ The Church of Pentecost continues to extend the light of the Gospel to remote communities, offering hope and transformation through Jesus Christ.
The crusade will conclude on Saturday, August 30, 2025, with a free holistic medical screening and children’s service, offering both spiritual and physical healing to the people of the Afram Plains.
