It was a day of joy and ecstatic praise when members of the Sefwi-Wiawso Area converged at the Sefwi-Wiawso Central Assembly auditorium on Friday, January 10, 2020, for a special thanksgiving service.

The event was held to honour and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness towards the Area in particular and The Church of Pentecost in general.

The ecstatic and glorious service brought together over 2,700 members from all the 27 districts of the Area. It was characterized by prayers, unceasing praise and worship sessions and long periods of thanksgiving as members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to God for seeing them through the year 2019 successfully.

The Area Head Apostle John Obeng Kesse, who chaired the service, expounded on the theme of The Church of Pentecost for 2020, “A Glorious Church to Possess the Nations” (Ephesians 3:21, 5:27).

Reading from Genesis 1:26-27 and Ephesians 3:16-21, Apostle J.O. Kesse indicated that God’s intention for the creation of mankind was for them to carry His glory on earth. Sin, however, caused this glory to depart from humanity (Romans 3:23).

According to Apostle Kesse, Jesus’ reincarnation on earth was for the restoration of this glory, hence the reason why the church of God was instituted.

“The church is, therefore, the people through whom God intends to reflect His glory. The reflected glory is a great light that a dark world shall come to see (Isaiah 60:1-2),” he noted.

Outlining some keys to manifesting the glory of God as a church, the Area Head urged members to hunger and thirst to manifest the glory of God, build a unified church devoid of division, lead holy lives and be devoted to prayer. “Also, live a pure life of devotion to God and a life that honours God, “he added.

Concluding his message, Apostle John Obeng Kesse advised believers to position themselves well to reflect the full glimpse of the glory of God just as the moon reflects the total view of the sun’s light when it is rightly positioned.

Present at the service were Overseer Dr Suleman Issaka De-Graft (Manager, Pentecost Hospital, Tarkwa), Mrs Eunice Kesse (Wife of the Area Head), as well as the area pastorate and their wives, among others.
