In line with the Vision 2023 of The Church of Pentecost, the Anyaa Ablekuma Area of the Church in collaboration with the Literacy and Evangelism International, Ghana, has commenced a six-month Adult Literacy Programme in the Area.
The programme, which is aimed at helping members to acquire proficiency in writing, reading and speaking in English and major Ghanaian languages, is a Headquarters’ project being piloted in the Area. It is expected to be replicated across the nation upon completion.
It started with 447 students who are studying one of four languages namely, English, Asante Twi, Ga and Ewe. Within a month of rolling out the programme, some of the students who virtually had no formal education have begun reading, writing and speaking in their language of study.
At a meeting with the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Kojo Gakpetor, the students who could not hide their joy, commended the leadership of the Church for coming out with the initiative.
