The Head of the Department of Ministerial Formation and Training at Pentecost University, Apostle Professor Christian Tsekpoe, has stressed the urgent need for children’s workers to intentionally lead children to Christ.
He was speaking at this year’s Foundation Builders’ Conference organised by the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, on the theme: “Reaching Generation Alpha and Discipling Them Through Effective Intergenerational Service,” based on Jesus’ words in Mark 10:14.
Apostle Prof. Tsekpoe described Generation Alpha (children born between 2013 and 2024) as digital natives, visual learners, and seekers of authenticity. Rather than viewing them as a challenge, he encouraged the Church to embrace them as a gift to the Body of Christ.
He explained that intergenerational service involves all age groups actively participating in the life and mission of the Church.
Key recommendations he gave included organising intergenerational services twice monthly, involving both children and adults in prayers, worship, testimonies, and scripture readings, and encouraging adults to stay informed about emerging trends affecting younger generations.
He concluded with a powerful reminder: “Children and young people are the Church of today, not merely the Church of tomorrow.”
