The Oduman District of the The Church of Pentecost has dedicated its newly constructed Emmanuel Assembly church building to the glory of God.
The dedication service took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, and was officiated by Anyaa-Ablekuma Area Head, Apostle William Ohemeng-Kwakye.
The Emmanuel Assembly began as a small morning devotion group of ten members—six women and four men—who met regularly for prayer and fellowship. Through dedication and spiritual growth, the group expanded, leading to the establishment of a formal assembly which initially met in the residence of Deaconess Mercy Asabea.
Through the instrumental roles played by Deaconess Mercy Asabea, Brother Peter Ofori, Sister Janet Tsibu-Darko, and Sister Eunice Anim—now officers of the assembly—a 70 by 90-foot plot of land was acquired from Mr Brew in 2010 at a cost of GH₵5,000 to serve as the permanent site for the church building.
A sod-cutting ceremony to commence the project was held on August 25, 2011, performed by then Area Head, Prophet James Osei Amanianpong, with support from the then District Pastor, Pastor Samuelson Okpoti Gbenor. Construction initially began with a temporary wooden structure financed by Deaconess Mercy Asabea and Sister Janet Tsibu-Darko (now Deaconess), while Brother Peter Ofori (now Deacon) provided roofing support at no cost.
The project later progressed into a permanent structure. Former Presiding Elder Opoku Addo led construction to the lintel level, after which Elder Isaac Mintah Sackey continued to the roofing stage under the supervision of former District Pastor Benjamin Otoo. The final phase—from roofing to completion—was undertaken under the leadership of Elder Thomas Agyei and supervised by Pastor Solomon Azagisiya and the current District Pastor, Pastor Godwin Coffie-Adzahlie, through whose goodwill the project received a GH₵100,000 grant from the Teshie-Nungua Area.
The foundation stone was laid on June 9, 2018, by Apostle Samuel Kojo Gakpetor. The project was completed at a total cost of GH₵1,321,653.74, with significant support from Apostle William Ohemeng-Kwakye and his wife. The building now stands as a testament to unity, sacrifice, and commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom.
