Christmas on the Hill 2025 illuminated Parliament Hill with a vibrant celebration of faith, unity, and Canada’s rich multicultural identity. What began in 2013 as a modest initiative has now grown into a remarkable national tradition.
Over the past twelve years, the gathering has evolved into a cherished event that brings Canadians from all regions together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and to affirm the continuous influence of Christian values in the life of the nation.
The heart of the event has remained unchanged; an occasion that honours Christian faith, promotes cultural harmony, and highlights the contributions of Canadian Christians to national development.
This year’s celebration was marked by an atmosphere of deep joy and reverence. Worship, Scripture readings, and heartfelt prayers echoed across Parliament Hill, creating a spiritually uplifting moment for all in attendance. Many participants described the presence of the Holy Spirit as profound, stirring renewed hope and purpose for Canada.
The 2025 edition was made even more memorable by the presence of Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Official Opposition and the recent runner-up in the race for Prime Minister, who attended as the guest of honour. In his address, he reflected on the birth of Jesus Christ and extended warm Christmas greetings to the gathering.
A significant highlight of the event was the special recognition given to The Church of Pentecost Canada for its leadership and service. Apostle Ransford Obeng-Gyamfi, National Head of COP Canada, delivered a powerful exhortation, declaring the church’s commitment to transforming society through the Gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Dr Jamil Nasir, National Head of COP Pakistan, also shared a heartfelt message and offered prayers for Members of Parliament and the nation at large. Supporting the national heads were Apostle Philip Chemel, Pastor Lord Badu, Overseer Tabari Reza, Overseer Percy Larbi, Overseer Isaac Osei, and additional leaders from the COP Persian and South Asian ministries.
The event, hosted by Tim Iqbal, President of Christmas on the Hill, drew strong support from Members of Parliament, including co-hosts Arpan Khanna, Garnett Genuis, Blake Richards, Vincent Ho, Richard Bragdon, Sandra Cobena, Anna Roberts, Ned Kuruc, Tom Kmiec, Dan Muys, Kyle Seeback, and Amarjeet Gill.
Several other MPs also attended, with many joining Hon. Poilievre in singing Joy to the World under the leadership of MP David Epp and his choir – a moment that deeply moved the audience. Mr Tim Iqbal conveyed warm Christmas greetings through Dr Jamil Nasir to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, the General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, and the Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe.
