The Women’s Ministry of the Old Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has empowered 14 women through in-kind support, as part of a broader microfinance initiative aimed at equipping them to establish soap-making businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The event took place at the Area Mission House recently and was attended by Area and District Leaders, including the Area Head, Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful, and his wife, Mrs Mary Nsaful. They encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of the support provided and strive for greater achievements.
The 14 women were selected from each of the 14 Districts within the Old Tafo Area. According to the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Mavis Addai, the initiative seeks to empower women economically while enabling them to serve God more effectively.
She emphasised that the soap-making capital, valued at GHC10,000, represents a vital step towards economic independence and self-fulfilment, allowing the women to become reliable providers for their families.
“We have counselled them regarding this opportunity. We believe it could be a turning point in their lives. As a Ministry, we are always privileged to support one another through empowerment, so we can assist our husbands in various ways,” she said.
“Looking ahead, the Women’s Ministry has several initiatives designed to strengthen the church, the community, and the nation. We are confident that God will guide us through,” she added.
Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful commended the Women’s Ministry for its compassionate approach to supporting the needy and called for similar efforts in other areas. Quoting Proverbs 13:4, he urged the beneficiaries to avoid laziness and embrace hard work, assuring them that God can bless them through the resources they have received.
Mrs Mary Nsaful also shared practical advice on how to start and sustain a business. She cautioned against overpricing products and encouraged the women to cultivate a habit of saving, regardless of how small the amount.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Precious Gyamfi from the Mamponteng District expressed gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for its generosity and pledged to work diligently to make the soap-making venture a success.
