The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has unveiled the 2025 theme for the Church: “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling,” taken from Ephesians 4:1, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, and Galatians 1:24.

In explaining the theme, which was unveiled at the 2024 November Head’s Meeting underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that Christians are God’s special possession with a divine mandate to enact change in the world. He stated that the Church exists to reveal the glory of God to all generations.

Highlighting the continuity of themes aimed at achieving Vision 2028, Chairman Nyamekye noted that the unleashed people of God must lead lives that reflect their calling in the world. He reiterated, “Having been unleashed as a people of God, it is essential to live a life worthy of our calling to transform the world.”

Apostle Nyamekye discussed the urgent need for transformation in various spheres, asserting that individual lives must demonstrate that we are transformed agents of change. He stressed the importance of every Christian understanding their calling, which is not limited to pastoral roles but applies to all Christians.

“The calling we have received is to live a life of holiness amidst a perverse society, reflecting God’s saving grace,” he stated. He emphasised that when the Church meets God’s expectations, societies are transformed. When a church is faithful to its calling, it becomes a healing agency to society and can lead many to Christ,” he remarked.

He explained that the Greek word ‘Ekklesia’ refers to God’s assembly called for a purpose — to glorify His name. Furthermore, he noted that God is glorified when Christians live lives worthy of their divine calling.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged the church community to avoid defining the Christian life solely by abstaining from vices; instead, they should demonstrate positive qualities such as love, peace, humility, and holiness.

“God’s call does not entail impurity but rather a life of holiness,” he asserted, adding that “the purpose of Christ was to rescue us from the hand of our enemies and to enable us to serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness all our days” (Luke 1:74-75).

He declared that the Church is destined for holiness, stating, “That is who we are and our calling.” He urged members to be exceptional in everyday situations, emphasising that living a life worthy of our calling should show the world that we have truly known Christ.

“Living a life worthy of your calling means taking your ordinary life and living it generously, radically, expansively, creatively, courageously, and gloriously, so that God will be praised because of you,” he challenged.

Apostle Nyamekye advised against the dilemma of quitting secular jobs for full-time ministry, highlighting that our work and daily activities are part of our Kingdom ministry.

“Do not separate your everyday life from your faith. Your faith should shine through in the ordinary aspects of life for His glory,” he encouraged.

He reminded the congregation that “unleashed servants are not removed from their workplaces but are sent there. Kingdom bearers include market workers, woodworkers, bricklayers, plumbers, shopkeepers, lawyers, nurses, doctors, designers, parents, children, teachers, farmers, and individuals of all ages.”

Chairman Nyamekye shared that several topics have been thoughtfully chosen to align with the theme. These include Living for eternal rewards, Living your faith in the public sphere, Serving God with our possessions, Unleashed to save the never-dying soul, The practice of waiting upon God through fasting and prayer, and Revitalizing worship and fellowship in the local church.

He encouraged church leaders to strive to help the congregation appreciate the theme and live lives that will lead the world to praise God.

“May we declare Christ and make Jesus famous in the world again,” he concluded.
