The Windy Hill District Minister in the Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Thomas Tete Asare, has called on employees working for Christian organisations to see themselves as working for God.
He stressed the need for people to be serious about their work while in active service, because after retirement or death, they can work no more.
Pastor T. T. Asare said this when addressing drivers of directors, area heads, and principal officers of The Church of Pentecost during a 2-day prayer retreat held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.
Speaking on the topic, ‘Working for God and the Church’ based on Ecclesiastes 9:10 and Colossians 3:23-24, Pastor Asare stated: ‘Being employed at The Church of Pentecost is a privilege, and it is essential to remember that you are ultimately working for God, who will reward you in due time.’
Expounding the scriptures, he urged them to wholeheartedly dedicate their efforts toward the cause of God and the church.
To excel in this divine duty, he advised them to prioritie prayer in everything they do, maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality, be circumspect in their utterances, value their lives and other occupants in their vehicles by avoiding unnecessary risks such as overtaking and speeding, limit their expectations and take good care of their health, especially given the demands of long driving and sitting.
Pastor T. T. Asare further entreated drivers to go the extra mile and be prepared for emergencies due to the nature of their work, while urging them to be time-conscious and strive to climb the academic ladder if possible.
Concluding his message, he asked them to avoid negative influences that could derail their mission, saying, ‘By adhering to these principles, you honour your commitment to God and the church, ensuring a fulfilling and rewarding journey.’
As part of the retreat, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, also interacted with the drivers to encourage them.
