The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has challenged leaders of the church’s newly created ministries to work diligently to justify their calling.
Speaking at an orientation for National Leaders and their Executive Committee members at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Apostle Nyamekye stressed the importance of their roles in achieving the church’s ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.
Among the groups represented were the Ministry to Celebrities, E-Church, Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM), Ministry to the Other Sheep, Prisons Ministry, Workers Guilds, and Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS). Newly appointed Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) pastors, Travelling Secretaries, and Youth Pastors were also present.
On behalf of the Executive Council, Apostle Nyamekye commended the leaders for accepting their roles and encouraged them to rely on prayer and the word of God to complement their skills and efforts. He noted that while skills, strategies, and attitudes are crucial for excellence, prayer and the word of God are essential for staying aligned with God’s plans to succeed in their ministries.
‘Prayer will take you to God and bring largess from Him. Pray more and read more. Immerse your ministry in prayer by dedicating significant time to prayer in every business meeting,’ he advised.
Explaining the church’s unleashing agenda in relation to the Great Commission, Apostle Nyamekye clarified that the Great Commission is not merely about evangelism or building churches and structures, but about discipling nations.
‘If we are building nations, then we are trying to take nations for Christ,’ he said.
He further explained that discipling nations involves imparting Kingdom culture and values to people so they live Christlike lives.
Regarding the church’s unleashing agenda, he stated that the church aims to create ministries that address societal needs and solve problems.
‘The focus of ministry is the world. God had the world in mind when He gave His only begotten Son to die to save the world,’ he said, adding, ‘Light becomes necessary only when it is introduced to darkness and dispels it.’
Elaborating on the characteristics of the church unleashed, Apostle Nyamekye said that as churches grow larger, their ministries should also expand.
